Aaron Persaud – Software Developer: Aaron attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a Bachelor of Mathematics, minoring in Computer Science. He has over 2 years of software development experience and believes in using his software development skills to make a positive change in the world. He has worked on a variety of projects such as automating online forms, data analytics for car manufacturing and overage tracking using technologies in Front End (jQuery, AngularJS, React), Back End (Python, Java, C#) and Database (MySQL, MongoDB, Postgres). While a member of the One Community team, Aaron helped with the development of the Highest Good Network software by addressing bugs and implementing new features.
Abdelmounaim Lallouache – Software Developer: Abdel is an experienced web developer with expertise in developing full-stack web applications. He is skilled in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, ExpressJS, and various databases. He holds a certificate in Full Stack Web Development from Northwestern University, Evanston, and a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies from INPTIC, Algeria. As a member of the One Community team, Abdel is helping with the development of the open source Highest Good Network softwaree project and time tracking software that manages, tracks, and rewards volunteer labor hours.
Abi Liu – Software Engineer: Abi is a skilled software engineer with a strong foundation in full-stack development. He has extensive experience with technologies such as Javascript, Typescript, Java, React, Node.js, and Spring. Abi has excelled in enhancing open-source platforms like Medplum and developing complex projects, such as an automated expense tracking application, and even created his own programming language from scratch. As a software engineer for One Community Global working on the open source Highest Good Network Software, Abi has been instrumental in enhancing the robustness of the backend application by creating comprehensive unit and integration tests, writing over 100 test cases covering every aspect of the business logic. He has also served as a mentor to other developers on the team, conducting peer programming sessions and helping them resolve complex issues and grow their skills. Currently, Abi is working on creating a statistics reporting page, where he has crafted complex queries to efficiently aggregate data and created graphs for easy data visualization.
Adam Capdeville – Software Engineer: Adam attended California State University Channel Islands and graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, minoring in mathematics, statistics and data analytics. He is especially passionate about creating complex and compelling user interfaces. While a member of the One Community Highest Good Network team, Adam applied this passion to help develop a seamless user interface for the version 2.0 user profile page.
Adam Weiss – Kitchen Operations Project Manager: Adam has been part of the food industry for 20+ years. He has had many roles: chef, pastry chef, chocolatier, international restaurant launcher, operations manager, kitchen designer, and private chef to some notable people, including his wife and kids. He is in the Bay Area doing multi-unit kitchens, grocery, and operations work for an international kitchen and technologies company. While a member of the One Community team, Adam helped complete the Transition Food Self-sufficiency Plan, Transition Kitchen designs, Food Procurement and Storage plan, and related menu and meal plans.
Adefola Madehin – Electrical Designer: Adefola as an Electrical Design Specialist, brings over a decade of experience in delivering comprehensive electrical, lighting, and power design solutions for a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, educational, healthcare, and hospitality spaces. He is proficient in creating detailed 2D AutoCAD electrical service drawings and performing precise power calculations in compliance with IEC/NEC standards. Fola is dedicated to providing exceptional service and has played a key role as a member of the One Community engineering team, contributing to the electrical design of the Earthbag Village 4-dome home component with a focus on sustainability and electrical efficiency.
Aditya Sure – Software Developer: Aditya has a strong background in software development, specializing in full-stack development and cloud computing. He has worked with modern technologies, including React, Node.js, and AWS to build scalable applications and seamless user experiences. As a member of the One Community team, Aditya has contributed to improving key features of the Highest Good Network project, resolving critical bugs, and enhancing the functionality of the notification systems for task deadlines
Adolph Karubanga – Senior Civil/Structural Engineer & Certified Project Management Professional: Adolph attended Kyambogo University and obtained a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, Bachelor’s in Civil and Building Engineering, and Diploma in Water Engineering. He is also a Certified Project Management Professional and a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI-USA), and Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE). Adolph is currently serving as a Civil Engineer at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development in Uganda (Africa). As a member of the team, he brings in-depth knowledge and more than 7 years of experience in structural analysis techniques, engineering design, construction supervision and project management using PMBOK® methodologies. He has worked on small and large-scale infrastructure projects and is highly motivated and energized by working with a diverse team to peer discuss, create solutions, and propel a project to successful delivery. Adolph believes that resilient and sustainable infrastructural systems are an essential component of society. While a One Community consultant structural engineer, he helped to finalize the DIY Ultimate Classroom structural engineering. Adolph enjoyed this role because it gave him the opportunity to expand his scope and make an impact on an international level.
Adrienne Gould-Choquette – Mechanical Engineer: Adrienne has a B.S. & M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and has completed graduate coursework at Harvard University in Sustainability studies. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and LEED Green Associate. Her career path has taken her on an amazing journey which includes Ultra High Purity Engineer for Lucent Technologies, Multilevel Interconnect Development Engineer for Bell Labs, Professor and Program Director for Emerging Technologies at the State College of Florida, and presently, Principal Engineer for Adicot, Inc., a consulting engineering firm. Adrienne was awarded two patents for her innovative contributions to the Tungsten CVD process for low-temperature manufacturing applications; and was named Florida’s 2012 Post-Secondary Educator of the Year in part because of her role as founding director of her college’s Alternative Energy program. Her biggest joy and proudest accomplishment is her role as mom to her two sons, Riley and Miles. In their spare time, Adrienne and her husband restore homes to their former glory. Their most recent project was a complete restoration of a 1950s mid-century modern; preserving the architectural integrity of the original design while transforming the home into to a modern, highly energy efficient structure. Adrienne has been been a vegetarian for over 25 years, an avid yogi, and, through her research, an avid proponent of a sustainability in all aspects of life. When looking for a way to give back, she found that her skills and passions were directly in line with One Community’s vision and mission, joined the One Community Team, and contributed by helping create the Standardized CAD Tutorial, structure, and file and version 2.0 of the HVAC design for the Duplicable City Center.
Aidan Geissler – Sustainability Researcher: Aidan studied Biology, Anthropology, and Neuroscience at Indiana University. Since then he has had a diversity of experiences: Education, Research, Project Coordination, and Field-Based Natural Resources Work. What unites this wide array of expertise and experiences is his passion for social and ecological justice. While a member of the One Community team, Aidan contributed research, written content, and revisions for various tutorials, resources, and pages. Pages contributed to include Glass Recycling, Styrofoam Recycling, Plastic Recycling, Most Sustainable Flooring, and Most Sustainable Insulation.
Aishwarya Kalkundrikar – Full Stack Software Developer: Aishwarya earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Pune, India. She has over 7 years of experience in software development and is an expert at translating business requirements into technical solutions. She demonstrated her skills by delivering multiple projects using technologies in Front End (React.js, Javascript), Back End (Python, Node, Perl), and Database (SQL, MongoDB). In her spare time, Aishwarya enjoys hiking, painting and cooking. While a member of the One Community team, Aishwarya helped with the development of the Highest Good Network software by addressing bugs and implementing new features.
Aishwarya Ramesh – Software Engineer: Aishwarya is an accomplished software engineer with over 3 years of hands-on experience in Web Development and Data Analysis. She holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. Aishwarya has proficiency in a wide array of technologies, including React, Node.js, JavaScript, C#, .NET MVC, Python, and SQL. As a member of the One Community team, she contributes to the open-source Highest Good Network Software with a focus on front-end and back-end development using JavaScript and React.js. She has successfully added new functionalities, enhancing user experience and site performance.
Aishwarya Singh – Computer Science Engineer: Aishwarya earned her bachelor’s in computer science from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, India and her master’s in computer science from the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA. In so doing she learned about new technology and explored the various fields within computer science: web development, design, architecture, artificial intelligence, computer networks and network security, cloud computing, etc. Aishwarya is eager to learn more and sees her knowledge pool as ever expanding. In her spare time she enjoys long walks, personal growth, and pondering over probable solutions for the various problems she sees humanity needing to tackle. Wanting to help in these areas is what led to her joining One Community and helping develop the Highest Good Network software.
Alan Lee Sing Chan Yau – Software Engineer: Alan is a software engineer with experience in web and mobile development. He has over 2 years of experience in software development and a strong interest in learning and finding solutions to problems in efficient ways. Alan believes that the best way to contribute to sustainability is by focusing on our lifestyle, by using less and managing our resources better. While a member of the One Community team, Alan helped with the development of the Highest Good Network software by addressing bugs and implementing new features.
Aleksandra “Alex” Gorkovenko – Graphic Designer: Alexsandra earned a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Art from the Academy of Art University and an MBA from SFSU. She has worked with professionals in a diversity of industries including tech, education, retail, sustainability, and the nonprofit sector and covering everything from UX design to branding/packaging to social media marketing campaigns. Alex is interested in working with sustainable companies and organizations who are serious about climate change and is planning to pursue her PhD in Business in order to explore the challenges that graphic designers face in the business environment. While a member of the One Community team, Alex helped create sustainability-focused social media graphics and memes and icon creation for the Highest Good Network.
Alexander G Huerta – Software Engineer: Alexander is a full stack software engineer known for his curiosity, passion for learning, and problem-solving prowess. With a degree from the rigorous Hack Reactor Software Engineering immersion, he continuously expands his knowledge and embraces new technologies to deliver innovative solutions. Prior to his software development career, Alexander spent seven years in real estate, cultivating exceptional communication skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and effective time management abilities. Currently, he explores his love for trying new things by learning to play soccer and actively participating in a local league. Alexander’s interests extend beyond technology, as he is deeply committed to global sustainability and seeks to make a positive impact on the world. He indulges his love for diverse cultures by sampling new foods and embarking on enriching travel experiences, continuously broadening his horizons. While a member of the One Community team, Alex helped create the open source Highest Good Network software.
Alena Thompson – Mechanical Engineer: Alena graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where she received a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Robotics as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Physics. She has consistently applied her problem solving abilities in the Aerospace Industry through her work at Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, Sierra Nevada Corporation and the Naval Research Laboratory. Along with her strong desire to explore new frontiers, leading Alena to focus on the exploration of space, she has also remained grounded in her community. After receiving a full scholarship from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Alena set her sights to help others receive the resources they need to reach their full potential. This desire to aid others extended beyond the microcosm of her University. In 2011, Alena embarked on a trip to Haiti to implement a solar powered water purification system. While a member of the One Community team, Alena helped design version 3.0 of the net-zero water-saving community bathroom model.
Alvaro Hernández – Bachelor’s Degree in Service Business Engineering and Social Tech Entrepreneur: Alvaro has over 8 years of Tech Entrepreneurship experience with most of that time in social projects. He has provided consultancy services to a variety of businesses about the selection and implementation of open source technology in their processes. He shares the vision and the values of One Community and is committed to help at least 1 million people to achieve the life of their dreams, until now the best path he has found to attain this is a comprehensive demonstration of a Resource Based Economy. Recreationally, Alvaro enjoys dancing and prides himself in being an exceptional self-learner. While a member of the One Community team, Alvaro helped with web design and related research covering such topics as earthbag construction, animal husbandry, recycling, and more.
Aly Shannon – Creative Director & Co-Owner of Roots of Medicine, Kitchen Co-Manager & Secretary on the Board of Directors at The Artisan Wheelhouse, Student at Antioch University Bachelor’s Leadership for Service & Change program: Aly is also independently studying herbalism & holistic medicine, plant-based nutrition and sustainability. Her additional interests include multicultural studies, sculpture, writing and photography. While a member of the One Community Food team, Aly designed sustainable meal plans with ingredients sourced from local farms and small businesses to help share the model with small groups and communities in need.
Alyx Parr – Senior Support Specialist: Alyx has a diverse background that goes beyond her birthplace in Massachusetts and current residence in Minnesota. In her precious moments of leisure, she finds joy in cherishing her loving family, including her husband, children, and dogs. Alyx’s unwavering passion for progress drives her ambitions, as she sets her sights on college and a future as a Data Security Analyst. Eager to contribute to success stories and armed with a thirst for knowledge, she approaches each encounter with enthusiasm, eager to learn and grow from every opportunity that comes her way. While a member of One Community, she applied these skills as part of the Senior Management and Review Team.
Amal Lazar – Sustainable Technology Researcher: Amal has her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in innovative problem-solving and critical thinking. With a keen eye for detail, she applies her background in quality engineering, supported by previous experiences as a Quality Engineer Intern. Amal’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. During her studies, Amal focused on coursework such as alternative energy sources, fatigue analysis, design of experiment, etc. Amal’s professional experience includes various positions that have shaped her expertise. As a graduate Teaching Assistant at MSU, she actively contributed to administrative tasks for the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Additionally, as a Graduate Research assistant, she conducted research, data analysis, and developed models in systems engineering, with a specific focus on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). While a member of the One Community team, Amal helped develop research on the most sustainable options for different projects. Her research included extensive exploration identifying the best eco-laundry dryers and the most sustainable lightbulbs and light bulb companies.
Amber Berg – PhD Eco-applied Psychology & Licensed Acupuncturist: Dedicated to healthy living and the environment, Amber has a diverse background of education and experience in both fields. She has a PhD of Eco-Applied Psychology, Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine, Bachelor of Arts in Animal Behavioral Psychology degree, and is a Licensed Acupuncturist. She also minored in Business and has over 6 years experience as a property manager and 5 years experience as the Chief Operations Manager of an eco-adventure activity provider in Hawaii. She has been published in the “American Acupuncturist” journal and is a Certified EMT as well. While a One Community volunteer, Amber was responsible for almost all of the research that went into the Montessori, Waldorf, Orff, Reggio, Multi-Intelligences, and Bloom’s Taxonomy sections of the Education for Life Program.
Amira Kessem – Mechanical Engineering Student: Amira spent her childhood in an alternative school called a “democratic school,” where she experienced first hand what life can be like when people have an abundance of free time and resources. This has made her passionate about changing the world in that direction. She chose to study engineering because she believes it is a way in which she can make a difference. She also volunteered weekly for about 6 months with One Community for the same reason. In that 6 months Amira conducted crucial research for both the vermiculture eco-toilets designs and then plaster specifics for the Earthbag Village.
Amiti Singh – Architectural Designer: Amiti boasts more than nine years of experience in the field of architecture, complemented by a recent post-professional graduate degree. She holds the belief that spatial practices naturally cultivate dialogues encompassing nostalgia, ritual, care, risk, and societal protest. Her professional journey includes roles as an intern and an employee, collaborating with four notable Indian architects on substantial government, commercial, and residential projects, where she has played a pivotal role in project conception, implementation, and execution. While a member of the One Community team, Amiti was committed to challenging societal dialogues across various scales and advanced her evolving skills to promote a more ethical approach to designing spaces as she helped with the interior design details of the Duplicable City Center.
Anand Seshadri – Software Engineer: Anand is a recent graduate from George Mason University with a Masters in Computer Science. He has over four years of diverse professional experience as a Software Engineer, Website CMS Coordinator, and Marketing Assistant. As a proficient Full Stack Web Developer specializing in the MERN Stack, Anand honed his skills through an intensive Bootcamp. Currently, as a member of the One Community team, he contributes to the open-source Highest Good Network software with a focus on Front-End development using React.js. He has successfully redesigned the theme of several web pages and added new functionality, enhancing user experience and site performance. Additionally, Anand plays an integral role in the PR review leadership team.
Andon Ignatov – Full-Stack Developer: A graduate from Carleton University with B.Sc. in Computer Mathematics, Andon has acquired over 12 years of experience working with various web technologies. He has worked as a consultant for the Canadian Government as well as numerous private sector projects. He also built a business creating and offering WordPress themes, with one of his most successful premium WordPress themes purchased and used by over 50,000 websites worldwide. While a member of the One Community team, Andon helped develop the React.js version of the Highest Good Network software dashboard summary section for users to write about their work and Pioneer-level visibility functionality such that a Pioneer can see the entire list of members on their leaderboard.
Andrew Sadera – Architect Drafter and Student: Andrew is a student of architecture with 5 years architecture drafting experience and the owner/operator of Sadera Designs with experience covering everything from room additions, T.I.’s, custom homes, to new buildings. He has his associates degree in architecture, architectural drafting, CAD and eco building. Andrew’s contribution to One Community has been in the design and evolution of the Duplicable Center City Hub including 100s of donated hours developing all the foundational aspects of this building including months of leading and coordinating the design team, complete CAD rendering, space planning, and more.
Angela Cheng ” Software Engineer: Angela is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. She thrives in fast-paced environments and excels at solving complex problems with efficient, innovative solutions. Open-minded and eager to learn new technologies, Angela is skilled in frameworks and tools such as Angular, React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, and Spring Boot. As a member of the One Community team, Angela contributes to the open-source Highest Good Network software, focusing on full-stack development using the MERN stack. She has played a role in developing the team’s management tool, particularly its badge management functionality, and has successfully completed the integration of Mailchimp to broadcast weekly updates to the entire team. Now, Angela is working on an application to centrally manage and publish content across various social media platforms.
Angela Mao – Sustainability Researcher: A high school student from Long Island, New York, Angela has always had an interest in sustainability and the environment. She has been a member of her school’s speech and debate team and DECA team for 3 years. She is also an active member of the Sierra Club and enjoys volunteering at beach cleanups and the Alley Pond Environmental Center. Passionate about researching a sustainable lifestyle for herself and for others, and wanting to have a positive impact on the planet, Angela believes that a balance can be struck between the environment, businesses, and our lifestyles. While a member of the One Community team, Angela helped write the complete clothing/textile tutorial, edit and finish the paper recycling tutorial, and conducted research for the plastic recycling and Most Sustainable Lightbulbs and Light Bulb Companies tutorials.
Angelina Truong – Full Stack Software Developer: Angelina is a driven and upcoming developer using key technologies and frameworks in Javascript and React. She has one year of experience in developing applications using React.js and Express Backend, and has also gained a working knowledge of Next.js, Typescript, and Express through her research and personal projects. She is experienced in joining and contributing to existing projects as well as starting a project and working it from beginning to end. While a member of the One Community team, Angelina helped develop the Highest Good Network software.
Dr. Angie Ng – PhD in Applied Social Sciences, with a primary research focus in gender inequality: Angie is an eco-feminist, activist, vegetarian and mom. She has a diverse educational background, having previously completed an Hon. B.Sc. covering Zoology, Biology and Economics and an MA in International Community Development. She also has training and experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language to both adults and children, academic research and business, having at one time been an momtrepreneur. In terms of international exposure, she has lived in various countries in North America, Europe and Asia, and enjoys exploring the world and learning about different cultures and the human experience. She also likes to think that she has a knack for DIY, with her most recent passion being making toiletries from natural products. In addition, she is a certified reiki practitioner. While a One Community volunteer, Angie helped for almost two years as a member of the team creating the lesson plans of the Highest Good Education component of One Community.
Anirudh Dutt – Software Developer – Anirudh is a proficient full stack developer with expertise in web development and enterprise software. With a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, he has a solid foundation in both front-end and back-end development, excelling in creating robust and scalable software solutions. Anirudh’s experience encompasses building APIs, developing mobile and web applications, and implementing secure authentication systems. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, hiking and indulging in painting as creative outlets. While a member of the One Community team, Anirudh helped develop the Highest Good Network software.
Anirudh Ghildiyal – Software Development Team: Anirudh is a passionate technology enthusiast. With a background in Machine Learning, his roles involved the construction of intricate machine-learning models and extensive analysis of sizable datasets, providing him with a profound understanding of the technology industry. Throughout his master’s program, Anirudh focused on the application of machine learning in various sectors, where he worked on different projects related to the same. These experiences not only sharpened his technical abilities but also nurtured effective teamwork and collaboration. Anirudh prides himself in a strong work ethic, passion for technology, eagerness to tackle new challenges, and dedication and expertise in open-source software development. While a member of the One Community team, Anirudh helped develop the open source Highest Good Network software.
Anish Pandita – Software Engineer: Anish is a budding computer science professional with an absolute craze for technology and its applications in the real world. He has a couple of years of experience in developing scalable software solutions for a plethora of use cases. This has made him well trained in building solutions from end-to-end, starting from requirement gathering and database schema design to deploying the solution on servers and testing it. Apart from work, he’s also an avid hiker, running enthusiast, and loves playing video games and often streams gameplays on the Twitch platform. While a member of the One Community team, Anish helped develop our open source Highest Good Network software.
Anna Cheal – Culinary Nutritionist: Anna is a Masters of Public Health Nutrition student with strong interests in food science, epidemiology, food policy, functional medicine, toxicology, and culinary arts. Some of her interests include increasing nutrition education in schools, creating greater transparency and sustainability in the food system, assessing national dietary recommendations, and advancing nutrition research. Anna has experience in health research, food service, community building, corporate wellness, public health policy, teaching, health coaching, and working in the non-profit sector. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist and aspiring nutritionist. While a member of the One Community team, Anna applied her diverse knowledge and skills to help complete the Transition Kitchen recipes and menu plan.
Anne Zhang – Software Engineer and Team Manager: Anne has 1 year of software engineering experience across vast project types. She believes in effective communication, team building and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment. She is passionate about software development and leading the teammates with the correct mindsets, skill and toolsets. As a member of the One Community team, Anne has helped develop the frontend and backend for Highest Good Network software and has successfully led a team of over 10 people.
Anny Wang – Software Engineer: Anny is passionate about software development. After working as a dietitian for a while, she discovered her love for technology through interactions with the software she used at work. Anny signed up for a bootcamp and learned the MERN stack. She believes that software development can help improve society and the world. While a software engineer on the One Community team, Anny contributed to the development of the open source Highest Good Network software.
Anvita Kumari Pandey– Civil Engineer: Anvita received her Bachelors in Civil Engineering from the University of Pune in India. After graduation she worked for 2+ years as a Cost Analysis and Estimation Engineer for a variety of commercial and residential projects through a construction firm in Pune called B&M Infra Private Limited. Looking to expand her domain expertise, she then worked at Meta Arch Private Limited and took on more responsibility with a customer-based role. After that, Anvita moved to the US to join her husband who works full-time here and brought her expertise to the One Community team helping with cost analysis for the Duplicable City Center.
Aparna Tandon – Architect: Aparna has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from one of India’s most reputed institutes and has been engaged in a range of landscape and commercial projects ever since. As an independent architect she has provided design and landscape services to a variety of clients. Aparna is passionate about sustainable architecture and believes in sustainable planning. She hopes to contribute to society by addressing issues that lead towards sustainable urban environments. She is also an avid photographer and blogs about her travel experiences. Recently relocated to Seattle, WA, Aparna continues to work as an independent architect and chronicles her experiences through photography. As a One Community volunteer, Aparna created the complete landscape design and details for the Compressed Earth Block Village.
Apoorv Pandey – Mechanical Engineering Professional: Apoorv is a fresh graduate with two years of research experience in the polymer and composite industries and the thermal hydraulics industry. He is dedicated to designing and developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges in mechanical design, thermal systems, and material science. His experience working in cross-functional teams has honed his communication and collaboration skills, enabling him to effectively work with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. He is an ambitious and results-driven individual who always seeks opportunities to learn and grow. As a member of the One Community team, Apoorv has helped conduct structural design reviews, detailing, and report preparation for The Ultimate Classroom in compliance with California Building Standard codes and International Building Codes, while maintaining accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
Aravind Batra – Electrical Engineer and LEED AP: Aravind is the Principal, Senior Electrical Engineer, and serves as Educational Group Manager at P2S Engineering where he leads a team specializing in the design and implementation of sustainable infrastructure. Aravind brings in-depth knowledge from his 20 years of experience with electrical systems requirements to numerous needs assessments, upgrades, renewable energy systems, renovations and new building projects for various educational and municipal institutions. His professional activities include past Treasurer for the Los Angeles Chapter of AEE and recently as a founding member and Membership Chair of United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Long Beach Branch. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). Applying this diversity and depth of experience with One Community, Aravind helped with the initial planning for the Duplicable City Center electrical and HVAC planning.
Aravind Vasudevan – Mechanical Engineer: Aravind earned his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from one of the top institutes in India, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, and his Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas. He is Passionate about FEA, CAE, solid mechanics, and has a strong background in mechanics and materials, FEA, Solid Mechanics, Computational Mechanics, Structural Analysis, and handling solid mechanics problems using CAE softwares. He has previously worked at Infosys Limited, Bangalore, India as a Mechanical Engineer for 2 years after his undergraduate course, and is currently working as a research student in the Mechanics of Advanced Materials lab under Dr. Dong Qian, at The University of Texas at Dallas. In his free time, Aravind loves to play sports (Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton), hike, indulging in scenic photography, and express his passion for soccer as a fan of FC Barcelona. While a One Community Volunteer Engineer, Aravind helped with the structural engineering and sustainable HVAC systems for the One Community Duplicable City Center and initial research for the Climate Battery designs.
Arthur Olifant – Videographer: Arthur is a French videographer who graduated from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY. He got his Associate’s Degree in Broadcast Media Communications. Over the past 4 years, Arthur has developed skills in videography, editing, audio recording, lighting and in story-telling. He had the chance to develop his Portfolio through various written, directed, and edited short films in France and the USA. A few of them have earned awards in festivals in Rome, Paris and NY State. In 2020, Arthur had the opportunity to study in the US for tennis and he decided to go into the Broadcast Media Communications major. There he learned how to create promotional videos, produce and host TV shows, and create news packages. While a One Community team member, Arthur helped update all the One Community promotional videos.
Asha Tadimari – Software Engineer: Asha received her Bachelor’s of Telecommunication Engineering in India and obtained her Masters of Computer Science in the USA. This led to work as a Web Developer, Software Engineer, and then as a member of the Highest Good Network software development team where she completed the initial coding for the badge component. In her spare time, Asha takes interest in cooking, reading, and traveling. Her inspiration for making a difference is, “those countless anonymous people who are quietly and selflessly doing their bit for the betterment of this world.”
Ashish Hirani – Fire Protection Engineer: Ashish earned his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, India and his master’s in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He has 6 years of experience designing, testing and commissioning fire suppression systems for substations, high-rise buildings and refineries. As a fire protection engineer, he studies the causes of fires, the behavior of fires in different environments, and methods to help mitigate the risks associated with fire. In his spare time, Ashish loves hiking, playing table tennis, cricket and biking. While a member of the One Community team, Ashish helped with the City Center Sprinkler and Emergency Systems Design.
Ashlesha Navale – Graphic Designer: Ashlesha is a highly skilled graphic designer with a solid foundation in Graphic, Fashion, and Textile Design. She recently completed her Professional Program in Graphic Design from U.C.Berkeley Extension. Currently, she serves as a Graphic Designer at One Community, where her creative expertise shines. Ashlesha is responsible for crafting captivating visual content, including striking social media images, Bio Images, and informative Bio Announcements tailored to volunteers. Her work not only reflects her passion for design but also her dedication to making a positive impact through her creative contributions.
Ashwin Patil – Web Developer and Tech Enthusiast: Ashwin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and is now pursuing his Masters in Computer Science from California State University, Chico. He is passionate about web designing and loves to create new websites. Ashwin has experience in designing and developing web applications and also has excellent knowledge of a broad diversity of other web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and AngularJs. He is committed to learning, which ensures that he is up-to-date with functionalities of the latest and greatest technologies in his field. Recreationally, Ashwin loves photography, travel, new foods, and combining all three. With a desire to make this world a better place for everyone, and while a member of the One Community team, Ashwin applied his skills and knowledge to help create the new One Community search engine, improve aesthetics for all our Open Source Tutorials, and a new Homepage design.
Ashwini Ramesh – Civil Engineer and Project Manager: A Civil Engineer by Profession, Ashwini has her BE in Civil Engineering, Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, and Higher Diploma in Software Engineering from India. She is also pursuing certification in Construction Project Management from San Diego University. In addition to her extensive education, Ashwini also has over 5 years professional experience in construction planning, scheduling, and monitoring of diverse projects. This has included experience in costing, estimation, project management, ISO quality management implementation and more.An articulate communicator and facilitator, Ashwini takes pride in her ability to assure the smooth progress of any project she engages. She is also a Mom and passionate about making our shared Earth a better and more sustainable place to live by reducing the impacts we humans are having here. Keeping with this philosophy and applying her outstanding knowledge and experience as a member of the One Community Team, Ashwini helped for several months as the overall Project Management of the Earthbag Village (Pod 1).
Avery Ellis – Ecological Designer and Aquaponics Specialist: Avery has a Masters of Ecological Design through SFIA, a BS in Biology from Stockton College, and a Permaculture Design and Teaching Certificate from High Altitude Permaculture in Colorado where he runs an aquaponics business called Integrated Aquaponics. Avery has always dreamed of being a part of an ecovillage from its earliest roots to a productive community. He was a contributor to our aquaponics and greenhouse development with a pledge and desire to join us on the property for several weeks to help with building them, too.
Ayush Tripathi – Full Stack Developer: Ayush is a skilled software developer with a background in computer science and engineering. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, Viterbi School of Engineering. Ayush is proficient in a range of programming languages, including Python, Java, C++, and SQL, as well as UI/UX development tools such as Django, Flask, React, and Angular. He also has experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, S3, and EC2 and is highly skilled in machine learning, having worked with various models such as BERT, RoBERTa, and Topic Modelling. He has executed classification of ciphertext and developed an Adversarial Search Go game agent, among other projects. Throughout his career, Ayush has gained experience working on a variety of projects. He has worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at USC, where he built a pipeline to execute Expectation-Maximization Algorithm to merge several datasets on the basis of posterior probability. He has also worked as a Software Developer at DigiOne Technology Pvt Ltd and Xceedance Technology Pvt Ltd, where he worked on assortment strategy and customer portal automation, respectively. Most recently, he worked as a Software Developer Intern at Iteris Inc. where he developed a Video Management Software. He brought his skills as a talented developer with a passion for learning and this impressive track record of delivering quality work to the One Community team where he developed the Highest Good Network.
Bahy Ahmed – Senior Architect: Bahy was born in Kuwait, is living in Egypt, and has 10 years experience in big-brand hotel renovations. He has contributed to high-quality names such as Sheraton Cairo Hotel, Conrad Cairo Hotel, and residential high-luxury villas in the north coast of Egypt. He is passionate about his work and joined the One Community team to help with our project’s contributions to better economic housing for the poor. In support of this, his major contribution to the project was to help finalize the Earthbag Village 4-dome residential designs.
Bailey Mejia – Software Engineer: As a dedicated and innovative Full-Stack Developer, Bailey’s journey has an impressive range of experiences and achievements. He completed the Full-Stack Coding Bootcamp from the University of California Riverside, gaining proficiency in diverse tech stacks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js. Bailey has consistently navigated complex tech challenges to drive project success. One of his notable projects was [Love.Dev], a dating website for developers. In this project, Bailey led the front-end development and began with a mobile-first approach. He collaborated with the back-end team to ensure seamless integration with the front-end of the website. Prior to Bailey’s web development pursuit, he honed his problem-solving, teamwork, attention to detail, and customer service skills in roles such as a Warehouse Associate at G|M Business Interiors and as a Servicer at Riverside Transit Agency. Outside the tech world, Bailey is a serious photographer who loves capturing the beauty of national parks through his lens. He’s an avid gamer who loves traveling with his girlfriend, especially to National Parks, with Yosemite and Olympic National Park being his favorites. While a member of the One Community team, Bailey helped develop the open-source Highest Good Network software.
Bhuvan D V – Fullstack Developer: Bhuvan is a results-oriented and innovative software developer with 20 months of experience in full stack technology and web development. He is skilled at directing teams and driving project success across the software development life cycle, developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. He is well versed in many programming languages and frameworks and is passionate about creating applications and improving user experiences. While a member of the One Community team working on the Highest Good Network software, Bhuvan contributed to the development and unit test coverage of Reports, User Profile Edit, and Date Picker components. He also played a key role in implementing innovative solutions to enhance user experiences and streamline project workflows on github.
Ben Pollock – Full Service Restaurant and Kitchen Designer/Senior Project Manager: Ben has 28 years of design and project management experience in the food service and hospitality industry. Ben established his early design career at an award winning firm for more than 16 years, gaining extensive experience in AutoCAD, concept development, space planning, food service equipment design, and architectural and interior design. In 2002, Ben founded Total Concept Designs, Inc. with renowned architect Ardeshir Bahar. Together they provided full service restaurant kitchen and dining design. In 2010, he brought his extensive knowledge and experience to Webb Design. Thoroughly experienced and passionate in all aspects of the design profession, including sustainable food service design, space planning, construction documents, and construction administration, Ben is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Construction Specifications Institute. While a member of the One Community team, Ben used his decades of experience and expertise to design the complete kitchen for the Duplicable City Center.
Benjamin Sessions – Strategic Sales and Real Estate Development Entrepreneur and Food Connoisseur: After graduating from the University of Utah in 2005, he and his wife moved to China to focus on investment projects throughout Asia. This experience ignited a passion to travel the world, learn about new cultures, and find business opportunities throughout the globe. Sessions and his wife have traveled to over 40 countries and lived as an expatriate in 3 countries outside of the United States. Sessions volunteers regularly in the community and has served as a board member on multiple not-for-profit corporations that focus on enhancing the quality of life for citizens in his area, Fort Lauderdale, where he serves as the President of his civic association. His passion is cooking and in his free time he regularly seeks out new ways to create delicious and healthy meals. Sessions has taken training courses around the world to learn about different food styles and food culture. He has cooked for large groups and is fairly well versed in a variety of food preferences. Sessions’ assistance as a One Community consultant was on developing the complete first-year meal plan.
Betty Lenora ” Earth Building Instructor, Author, and Sustainable Living Expert: Betty has been an instructor at Cal Earth Institute, holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Healing, is a journeyman carpenter, organic farmer, and author of the book Sacred Women Behind Bars. Betty was helpful to the initial development and evolution of Pod 1, with special emphasis on the design of the vermiculture restroom plans, and has also pledged to join us on the property to help teach and evolve dome building as soon as we are ready.
Biko Casini – Sustainable Building Expert, Permaculturalist, and Journeyman Mason: Biko was trained at a young age in masonry by his father Francesco Casini whom he worked with growing up and restoring plantation homes and churches in the South. Biko then spent years as a student and employee at the Ecovillage Training Center where he worked with many natural builders and permaculturalists to design and build the ETC campus. He also studied sustainable building and development in South Africa at the Thlolego Development Project and recently completed a 3-month internship at the Cal-Earth Institute of Art and Architecture in California. With 16 years of natural building experience, Biko has built with Stone, Cob, Straw Bale, Adobe, Straw Clay Slip, and Cord Wood in the US, South Africa, Italy, India, and Ghana and offered his expertise with the diversity of One Community Pod designs.
Bill Pike – Entrepreneur and Philanthropist: Bill has been an achiever all his life, starting with award winning and record breaking across 4 sports growing up including quarterback in football, point guard in basketball, record setting pole vaulter, and second baseman in baseball. After graduating college on the GI Bill, he started working with Elba Systems Corporation as a salesman, rose to president, and then owner where he took Elba onto the NY Stock exchange where his leadership created more than 100 millionaires. Bill is a family man with 40 years of marriage and 2 adopted children. He now heads The Pike Foundation to work with kids in the inner cities, is helping build over 100 homes in Haiti, a home for unwed mothers in Branson Missouri, water wells in Africa, a dorm for girls in Moldova to keep them from the sex trade, and more.
Binru Chen – Accountant Specializing in Audit and Financial Reporting: Binru has a Masters of Accounting from Tulane University, and a BA in International Trade and Commerce from Shanghai University and University of Technology, Sydney. She also has one year working experience in fund accounting and financial reporting, plus knowledge in accounting principles under IFRS and U.S. GAAP. Binru has always tried to serve the community through volunteering: she was a volunteer tour guide in the 2010 Shanghai Expo, a Ferrari boutique helper in the FIA Formula One World Championship, and a member of International Students and Scholars Advisory Board at Tulane University. In terms of international exposure, Binru is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese, and she has lived in several cities in Asia and North America. While preparing for her CPA Exam in California, Binru volunteered with One Community and wrote the open source tax details of the Highest Good Economics component.
Brian Gilb – Project Management Professional (PMP) and (former) US Marine Corp Logistics Officer: Brian has over 8 years of project management experience across vast project types. His skills and experiences include quality assurance, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, business analysis, management and leadership, and entrepreneurship. He has demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments and on complex projects requiring efficient and effective solutions to challenging problems. He believes in efficiency with regards to use of resources, doing more with less, and contributing to sustainability with resources and infrastructure as a path to having both a positive impact on the environment at the economy. While a member of the One Community team, Brian helped develop the complete One Community business plan and full-project planning for everything One Community is doing.
Eng. Brian Muigai Mwaniki – Civil/Structural Engineer: Eng. Brian is currently pursuing his masters in MSc Engineering from the University of Bath. He previously obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Brian has over 10 years of civil/structural engineering experience across vast project types. He has demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments and on complex projects requiring efficient and effective solutions to challenging problems. He believes in efficiency with regards to use of resources, doing more with less, and contributing to sustainability with resources and infrastructure as a path to having both a positive impact on the environment and the economy. As a member of the One Community team, Brian is helping complete the structural engineering details for The Ultimate Classroom. He is also helping lead a team of structural engineers to complete other tasks assigned.
Brian Mwoyowatidi – Graduate Structural Engineer: Brian has about 1 year of structural engineering and project management experience across multiple project types. He has demonstrated his abilities in research, design, and report development, consistently delivering high quality work. Brian believes in the importance of sustainable practices in engineering and infrastructure, focusing on efficient solutions that positively impact both the environment and society. As a member of the One Community team, Brian has contributed to the research, design details, and code review for the Ultimate Classroom, while also completing the Footer, Foundation, and Flooring Design and Engineering Report for the project. In addition, he has gained experience in effective communication & collaboration skills and also using software tools such as AutoCAD & STAAD to perform design analysis and generate detailed construction drawings, which he has incorporated into the Ultimate Classroom project.
Brian Storz – Chef and Molecular Gastronomist, Menu and Recipe Creator: Brian has over 14 years of professional experience in the culinary field including: kitchen management, molecular gastronomy, a culinary consultant, a business owner, and as a sushi chef. He grew up on a farm in Northern California and is passionate about sustainability, ethical business practices, and organic farming. The culinary arts and gastronomy have fascinated him for years, leading him to become a teacher in food preservation and a mentor to many talented young cooks and chefs. He has worked for over 5 years as a Sous Chef, also worked as a Manager and Chef in Japanese Kitchens and Sushi Bars for 4 years, worked at the 3 Michelin Star level, and also run a culinary department in a casino as an Executive Sous Chef with 50+ employees, three restaurants, and a catering operation, all while making the department profitable for the first time. While a member of the One Community team, Brian brought his 14+ years of experience to help finish the Transition Food Self-sufficiency Plan, Transition Kitchen designs, Food Procurement and Storage plan, and related menu and meal plans.
Brianna Johnson – Interior Architecture Student and Interior Designer: Brianna has been enticed by art and creative pursuits since her high school days, and consequently graduated from UC Riverside in 2011 with a degree in Art History. She then went back to school, and is working toward a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture at UCLA Extension while also working at design firms. Over the past 4 years, she’s gained experience in interior design, architectural drafting, 3D modeling, rendering, and product design. Green design and sustainability became a passion for her and she joined the One Community team as an opportunity to help create designs that help the environment and also promote comprehensive sustainability as a more conceivable reality for the world. Specifically, this included helping evolve the designs and creating final renders for the entire Straw Bale Village.
Brianna Olsen – Sustainability Researcher: Brianna earned her BA from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2018 as a member of the first graduating cohort of the Justice, Community, and Leadership major. Brianna also received minors in Math/Computer Science and French. During her undergraduate studies Brianna developed a strong affinity for environmental justice. She spent a summer internship doing funding development work for The Nature Conservancy and is presently working in financial and risk analysis in the health insurance industry. She aspires to continue her studies in environmental justice by applying for graduate school working toward a Masters in Public Policy with a concentration in environmental policy. While a member of the One Community team, Brianna helped complete all the research and write the content for the Most Sustainable Insulation, Most Sustainable Hand Dryers, and Most Sustainable Faucets Pages.
Britney Robles ” Graphic Designer: Britney is a recently graduated graphic designer from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Graphic Design. She has gained valuable experience through two internships with non-profit organizations, which have significantly shaped her skills and understanding of design in a real-world context. Britney is now pursuing freelance and volunteer work to continue expanding her experience and refining her craft. While a graphic designer at One Community, she focused on creating a versatile collection of social media graphics, bio images, and announcements that highlighted the contributions of other volunteers. Her goal is to use her design skills to support and enhance the work of non-profit organizations, and she is committed to dedicating her time and expertise to causes that make a positive impact.
Bupesh Seethala – Interior Designer, 3-D Visualizer, and Architectural Drafter: Bupesh has two and half years hands-on experience working with licensed architects and interior designers performing interior and exterior design for both residential and commercial spaces. He is skilled in Autodesk Revit, 3DS Max, V-ray, Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Draw, Sketchup, Aftereffects and AutoCAD. With designing and illustrating as his greatest passion, Bupesh is living in India and working as a freelance designer. His goals are continued development as a professional interior designer with a strong knowledge in architecture, with color & lighting as his strong assets, and designing all range of spaces. While a One Community consultant, Bupesh helped with the SketchUp plant placement and layout for the Complete Earthbag Village and the open source pallet furniture and control and automation systems designs for the Duplicable City Center.
Camilla Awuor Okello – Customer Service & Administrative Assistant: Camilla possesses over 3 years of experience in customer service and 1 year in administrative assistance, she is skilled at addressing diverse customer needs while providing comprehensive administrative support across the organization. Thriving in fast-paced environments, Camilla has demonstrated proficiency in managing complex tasks, ensuring efficient and effective solutions to challenges encountered in both customer service and administrative roles. While a member of One Community, Camilla helped with production of the weekly progress updates for our 100+ team, supporting work review, organization, and day-to-day virtual environment tasks.
Carl Bebli – Software Developer and (former) Petroleum Geologist: Carl has nearly 2 years of software development experience, with a lot of projects under his belt. He has demonstrated high levels of dedication and willingness to learn, which are desirable traits needed to excel in the tech field. He is a team player and is very ready to collaborate with like-minded developers to ensure the success of the One Community team. Carl is contributing as a full-stack developer with the open source Highest Good Network software project and time tracking software that manages, tracks, and rewards volunteer labor hours.
Carlos Gomez – Full Stack Web Developer: Carlos has over one year of web development experience across various project types. He is fluent in programming languages including JavaScript and TypeScript, and proficient in frameworks and tools such as React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, Express.js, REST APIs, GitHub, and Google Cloud. He is also making progress in Next.js and Nest.js. Carlos has demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments and on complex projects that require efficient and effective solutions to challenging problems. As a member of the One Community Highest Good Network team, Carlos has helped develop the Project Report Page, coding both frontend and backend using the MERN stack. This project shows the hours dedicated by active and inactive volunteers in a specific project using two pie charts. Currently, Carlos is part of a selected group of developers working on a large reporting page, where graphs will be used for easy statistical data visualization.
Carlos Gustavo Lillo Poblete – Engineering Technician: Carlos loves learning through various engineering projects. Having recently graduated, he’s now focused on gaining experience with the latest technologies by volunteering for green projects overseas. Carlos is constantly gathering information on new CAD and 3D Modeling Softwares to develop his drafting and design skills even more. In addition to his strong drafting and design skills, Carlos also specializes in the Lean Management System; continuous improvement and optimization when delivering a solution by eliminating waste and activities that do not add any type of value to the process. While a member of the One Community Team, Carlos generated high quality render videos for the Duplicable City Center pallet furniture designs using Blender.
Carol Nguyen – Civil Engineer: Carol received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of California, Irvine. She has experience working with different engineering teams on various specializations of the industry, including structural, transportation, water resources, and environmental engineering. Her tasks have included project scheduling, cost estimates, preparing technical reports, calculations, developing CAD drawings, and assisting project managers on the project progress. Specifically, Carol has worked on designing pavement and highway, sustainable land development, water distribution system, piping network, low impact design for minimizing water runoff and earthquake engineering building. She also participated in a collaborative project with the engineering and construction company Black & Veatch for 6 months. Carol helped her team to design surface pipelines, tunnels, piping systems, reinforced concrete pump stations and other facilities capable of storing hydroelectric energy for Hoover Dam. While a member of the One Community team, Carol helped with rainwater harvesting and roadway design for the Duplicable City Center and Earthbag Village.
Catherine Liu – Administration and Analytics Assistant: Catherine has almost 3 years of work experience in finance and market research firms with functions as trading operations and customer success. With a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in applied analytics, she demonstrated her strong abilities in problem-solving and data analysis. She enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment, solving complex client inquiries, and helping create efficiency in workflow. She would like to contribute more to sustainability and is always interested in impact investment. While a member of the One Community team, Catherine helped with weekly updates of the Weekly Updates Blog and management of the ads campaign.
Changhao Li – Software Engineer: Changhao is a recent graduate from Tufts University, majoring in Computer Science. He has experience in full-stack web development and machine learning, specifically in graph theory. Changhao is skilled in React, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, CSS, MongoDB, and SQL. He believes that the combination of technology and humanity could bring a beneficial impact to the world. As a member of the One Community team, Changhao is contributing to the development of the Highest Good Network software by addressing bugs and implementing unit tests.
Charles Gooley – Project Management Adviser: Charles “Chuck” is a UCLA graduate and retired aerospace software engineer. Since retirement ten years ago, he has been a web developer for nonprofits. He also enjoys taking science classes and gardening. Chuck joined the One Community team to help develop our WordPress website because he likes web design and applying his development skills. Examples of pages Chuck helped complete are the Compression Testing, Mix Ratios, R-value, and More page and Duplicable City Center Natural Pool and Spa page.
Charles McLean – Architectural BIM Designer, College Professor, Urban Agriculture Designer: Charles is the owner of OM Greengroup, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture, and a Master’s Degree in Education-Curriculum & Instruction. He is also a member of The Detroit City Council Green Task Force working to revitalize the Metropolitan Detroit area by providing sustainable ideas to implement new infrastructure capabilities evolving around reclaimed water policy issues, urban agriculture policy issues, and Green Building and Infrastructure policy. With over 15 years of architectural experience, totaling more than 5 billions dollars on architectural projects, Charles applies his leadership skills, experience, and diligent commitment to sustainable design and implementation to deliver qualitative and quantitative results that improve any project at hand. With One Community, this expertise was applied as help designing and evolving both the SEGO Center City Hub as well as our food infrastructure.
Chengyan Wang – Software Developer: With over two years of professional experience in software development, Chengyan has excelled in refactoring and enhancing software logic to bolster business operations. A team player, Chengyan possesses a strong skill set and a fervent passion for software development, always eager to collaborate and learn from peers and believing firmly in the value of shared knowledge. Committed to excellence and constant improvement, Chengyan goes the extra mile to ensure the code delivered is of the highest quality. While a member of the One Community team, he played a key role in the phase 2 development of the Highest Good Network App, contributing to the testing and development of more than five individual features and conducting over 30 code reviews.
Cheng-Yun Chuang – Software Engineer: Cheng-Yun is a recent graduate with a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California San Diego. With a solid six-year academic background, Cheng-Yun demonstrates a strong ability for quick learning, adaptability, and effective teamwork. Additionally, he brings one year of experience as a full-stack developer and an internship in IT Engineering, showcasing exceptional skills in web development, software engineering, and documentation creation. While a member of the One Community team, Cheng-Yun actively contributed to improving and refining the software for the open-source Highest Good Network software project.
Chris (Lixing) Chen – Software Engineer: Chris is a dedicated full-stack software developer with 3 years of software development experience, currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science at Northeastern University. He is proficient in various modern software development tools and technologies, including JavaScript, React.js, Express.js, Java, Spring Boot, C/C++, Python, and SQL, and is skilled in database operations, cloud, and DevOps practices. Known for his exceptional communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in dynamic environments, Chris proactively identifies areas for improvement and consistently enhances team productivity, ensuring high-quality and timely project completion. While a member of the One Community team, Chris helped develop the Highest Good Network Software by building full-stack pages and features for managing building tools, fixing bugs related to styling and API performance optimization, and quality assurance through unit testing and PR reviews to ensure deployment reliability. He has also helped manage the Git-r-done Software Team and documentation process.
Chris Weilacker – Software Engineer: Chris has a heavy interest in developing a sustainable future and experienced developing End to End Applications in the MERN Stack and Python. He has taken the intense Hack Reactor Software Engineering Bootcamp and is on the cusp of graduating from Cal State Monterey Bay with a degree in Computer Science. Having lived in Beijing, China (one of the most polluted cities) for 6 years opened his eyes to the problems that Global Warming and heavy pollution can present to the world and one’s health. As a member of the One Community team, Chris Weilacker is helping develop the Highest Good Network, working on the Leaderboard component as well as being in charge of Unit Testing of the previously developed code base, and a reviewer of Pull Requests.
Christian Ojeda – Mechatronic Engineer: Christian received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering from Panamericana University in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Since he was a child, he enjoyed learning how things work and from there came his fondness for engineering, especially mechanical design. With more than 5 years of experience in mechanical design he has worked in the development of projects such as devices for people with disabilities, renewable energy projects and design of machinery for industry. While a member of the One Community team, Christian helped with the design of the Earthbag Village Communal Eco-Shower Designs and the Earthbag Village Vermiculture Communal Eco-toilet designs.
Christopher Blair ” GIS Technician and Horticulturist: With a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Design and a minor in Horticulture, Christopher has over a decade of experience in the horticulture and landscaping industry. Through his employment with a diverse range of landscaping companies, he has gained valuable insights into how nurturing a garden extends beyond its literal meaning to encompass broader concepts of environmental stewardship. Christopher’s passion is investigating how people can live in mutually beneficial ways with their environment. He is currently completing a Geographic Information Science (GIS) certification from the University of Utah, as a natural progression of his interest in organizing, analyzing, and visualizing efforts related to our interactions with the environment. His dream is to contribute to the development of self-sufficient and environmentally conscious communities worldwide. While a member of the One Community team, Christopher has accomplished geospatial analysis of the Master Plan as part of our Permaculture Design to find improvements in the placement of the 7 Villages and the Duplicable City Center.
Christy Guo – Software Engineer: Christy contributes as a Software Engineer to the open source Highest Good Network software. She is dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement, brings a positive and empowering perspective to the team, and loves to showcase her expertise in full-stack application development. Consistently going the extra mile to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable code, her contributions have been crucial in expanding the management dashboard’s features and elevating the software’s reliability and performance by executing thorough comprehensive unit and integration tests for the backend.
Clarice Gaw Gonzalo – Architectural Designer: Clarice has been in the architectural field for nearly 7 years now from finishing her Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign to currently completing her Masters in Architecture at California College of the Arts. In between school she has also gained experience at a couple firms working on projects of various types such as: high rise apartment buildings, bus stations, libraries, schools and clinics. She is knowledgeable in many architectural softwares including: AutoCAD, Lumion, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Grasshopper, Twinmotion and most Adobe softwares. Clarice is very passionate about sustainability and the urban environment. She believes architecture is designed to make people the best versions of themselves as they thrive in the space they are in. Clarice actively engages in initiatives that aim to create greener, more livable urban spaces, and she is always seeking innovative ways to integrate sustainable solutions into city planning and development. As a member of One Community, Clarice has helped create the architectural renders for the Duplicable City Center and is working on creating a video for the space as well.
Clemar Nunes – Software Engineer: Clemar is a talented Front-End Developer, whose programming journey began in September 2021. Since then, he has been dedicated to front-end development, honing his skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js. Clemar excels in creating user-friendly interfaces and optimizing user experience. While a member of the One Community team, Clemar helped to develop the open-source Highest Good Network software. He also helped with PR Reviews, making the deletion of a team to remove them immediately, and adding a reminder to the save changes modal on the Permissions Management page.
Dr. Connie Stomper – Consensus Trainer, Team Building Facilitator, Curriculum Developer and Educator for Elementary Schools to Graduate Programs, Organizational Consultant, Counselor and Minister of Peace, Dr. Connie has double masters and doctoral degrees in both Education and Psychology and Spiritual Science. With her commitment to facilitating individual and world peace, she has worked with organizations such as Peace Theological Seminary, Insight University, A World Fit For Kids, United Youth International. Her peace work has led her to visiting nearly 30 countries. In her work with The Community Planet Foundation, she co-created and facilitates training in consciousness of Community and consensus decision-making. Dr. Connie has helped facilitate the consensus training process some of the One Community Pioneers have already completed and is committed to assisting us in our continued progress towards demonstrating a peaceful and consensus-based new way of living. Da Ku – Mechanical Engineer: Da Ku received his Master’s Degreee in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. He is skilled in 3D modeling softwares (SolidWorks, ProE), and FEA packages (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc). Mechanical design and analysis experience, as well as hands on experience conform his passion for making real things that work. While a One Community consultant, Da Ku helped with the initial thermal and structural analysis of the Earthbag Village and was responsible for the complete design of the transition door for the Duplicable City Center eco-pool and spa and the Earthbag Village structural engineering.
Dan Alleck – Designer & Illustrator: Dan Alleck comes from a background in Entertainment and the Arts. He is a graduate of EORA TAFE College in 2002 and The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2006 where he studied Design for Performance. He works across multiple disciplines as a Designer and Creative. Dan sees within One Community “the seeds of a new model for living” and helped with real-to-life render creations for the 7 different village models.
Daniela Andrea Parada – Civil Engineering Student: Daniela currently studies at the University of California, Irvine and is working to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Civil Engineering. She has worked for various organizations that have strengthened her abilities and further pushed her to efficiently overcome obstacles within her teams. Daniela wants to continue empowering the communities around her and encouraging the leading women in her life. She believes that sustainability is a major key to establishing a better future for our society. While a One Community volunteer, Daniela helped with the City Center Water Catchment designs, Roadway and Walkway tutorials, and Aquapini and Walipini designs team.
David Na – Civil Engineer: David holds a B.S. in mathematics and civil engineering and has experience working with residential and commercial development and pavement management. He is an avid advocate for sustainable design and infrastructure and believes sustainable practices are the key to combating global climate change. He understands the many challenges behind creating a less wasteful future, but is optimistic and an active participant in designing creative solutions that reduce carbon footprint while increasing quality of life. While a member of One Community, David helped with site development to assist with the civil engineering aspects of the City Center, Earthbag Village, roadway/walkway and parking lot designs.
Dave Walen – Architectural Drafter and Designer: Dave Walen is the owner operator of Dave Philip Walen Design. He has over a decade of hands on experience working with licensed architects, engineers, and contractors for both residential and commercial spaces, both interior and exterior. Designing and illustrating as his greatest passion, Dave also co-operates Anamoglam with his wife where they offer graphics design, web, and drafting services. He has traveled the world and found additional architectural and cultural creative inspiration in Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Haiti, and the Bahamas. He grew up flying with his Dad (getting to experience Zero G!) in the South East of the USA. Now Dave and his wife live and offer their services in the Tryon, NC region. While a One Community volunteer, Dave converted the Straw Bale Village designs to CAD and helped to evolve these designs into detailed building plans.
David Olivero – Mechanical Engineer & Data Scientist: David holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado, and a Certified Solidworks Professional. His graduate studies centered on design with advanced composite materials, including bicycle frames, SAE formula one vehicle chassis, and EMI shielding for spacecraft. As a design engineer and manager for Seagate Technology, he has extensive experience with component design and manufacturability, and project management. David uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) programs like Fluent, CFX, and FloTherm to model and find solutions to airflow and heat transfer challenges. David and his wife and step-daughter live in the stunning San Juan mountains of Colorado. He is an avid homesteader and gardener, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Living Systems Institute in Denver, where he co-created the “food cell” concept, centered on a novel climate battery greenhouse design. While a One Community Volunteer, David designed the initial HVAC and ventilation systems for the Duplicable City Center component.
David Sweet ” Architect III: David received his Bachelors of Architecture from the California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo. He specializes in design development through construction administration with applied skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Quark Express, and Outlook. David has been a part of almost every component of how a project is built from start to finish, from building pre-schematic concept models by hand to reviewing standard of design punch list items at the end of construction with contractors awaiting approval for everything that has been built. Notable projects David has helped design include the Staples Center Arena, University of California Berkeley Student Athletics Sports Performance Center, Oregon State University Reser Stadium Phase 2 South Bowl Expansion & Gill Annex Sports Performance Center Phase 1 Wrestling Practice & Weight Room Facility, University of Southern California Galen Center & Athletic Pavilion, DEDAUIX Field House Renovations, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport South Terminal Seismic Retrofit/Baggage Handling System/Security Upgrades, Long Beach Airport Jet Blue Terminal Improvements, San Jose Regional Medical Center Expansion and Seismic Upgrade, and more. David was also part of the Schematic Design Team for the Philadelphia Eagles & Milwaukee Brewers Stadium. While a One Community volunteer, David lead the design development through construction details for the first Phase of the Aquapini and Walipini Food Infrastructure.
Dean Scholz – Architectural Drafter and Designer: Dean has an Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting and Design, Mechanical Drafting and Design, and 3D Modeling and Illustration. He has an additional three years experience in carpentry rough, finish and in cabinetry and furniture construction, and five years of experience in computer game modeling in 3Ds Max and Adobe Photoshop. He also has experience in Adobe Illustrator designing advertising and has been freelance architectural drafting as the owner/operator of Dean Scholz Design and Architecture since 2014. All his life Dean has been naturally artistic with a passion for art, architectural design, sciences, woodwork, mechanical systems, and electronic circuits. This diversity of passions for creating and designing, coupled with being so mechanically inclined and very analytical, has given Dean excellent problem solving skills and a knack for out-of-the-box thinking. Always looking for an opportunity to design and build is what he is passionate about, with his current focus being tiny homes and tiny spaces, taking great pleasure in finding and utilizing space that is normally unused. While a member of the One Community Team, Dean helped develop the Cob Village (Pod 3) designs and real-to-life renders of this village. He also helped with the real-to-life renders for the Earthbag Village 4-dome residential designs.
Deepthi Kannan – Software Engineer: Deepthi is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in software development. She holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside. Deepthi has worked on various projects in domains such as AI/ML, networking, computer vision, and big data. She is proficient in languages including C/C++, Python, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as machine learning, deep learning and database technologies. As a member of the One Community team, she has been instrumental in enhancing the Highest Good Network (HGN) software by debugging, implementing features, and optimizing the UI/UX. Currently, Deepthi contributes to the open-source HGN software with a focus on front-end and back-end development using JavaScript and React.js. She has successfully added new functionalities, enhancing user experience and site performance. Additionally, Deepthi is working on the technical documentation of the user manual for the HGN software, suggesting improvements and content needed for the software to be completed. Deepthi also plays an integral role in the PR review team, where her review of over 50 pull requests has significantly improved deployment processes.
Dehua Feng ” E.I.T, Civil Engineer: Dehua received his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the Liaoning Technical University in China. He worked for a half year as a Civil Structural Design Engineer for a civil design firm called Shenyang Civil Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd in China. Seeking higher education overseas, he then traveled to the U.S. and studied at the University of Akron with a specialty in traffic engineering. After one and half years of study, Dehua completed his MS and filed for a patent (serial number USPTO: 62/591,827) for his thesis work, “Determining Intersection Turning Movements with Detection Errors.” After graduation, Dehua passed the FE exam and started his engineer career working in the Greater DC area. Believing people should start to think about sustainability and world change now rather than later, Dehua brought his passion and expertise to the One Community team and used his research and AutoCAD background to design the fire suppression systems for the Duplicable City Center.
Dennis Wohlfeil – Earth Builder and Sustainable Technologies Expert: Throughout his entire life Dennis has known he wanted to do something to help humanity. In 2001 he earned a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and gained employment as a Laboratory Manager and Professor at the college where he graduated. He managed multi-million dollar electronics, physics, and biomedical laboratory facilities and taught an extensive array of courses in the Associate Degree, Bachelorette Degree, and Masters Degree coursework for four years while simultaneously earning a Masters in Business Administration, a Project Management Certification, and a Masters in Public Administration. Dennis then went on to follow his true passion by applying his diverse education and skill sets to sustainable building and technology development with an emphasis on earthbag construction. Dennis operates Terra-Form.org, an open source website specializing in the education and research of sustainable infrastructure, sustainable resources, and sustainable lifestyles, and was helpful to the initial development of the One Community earthbag village open source details.
Devin Porter – 3D Graphics Design Specialist: Devin is a graphics design specialist with 20 years of experience in art and design. To aid in his ability to turn 2-dimensional ideas into 3-dimensional masterpieces, Devin additionally has 8 years of wood working experience, 4 years of metal working experience, and several years of framing, electrical, and mechanical experience. Combining this with 10 years of photoshop experience, Devin has evolved this combination of skills into an ability to use Sketchup, Z-brush, and Sculptris to create lifelike and professional renderings of virtually anything. Sharing One Community’s desire to create a new and better world, Devin’s passions include architecture, sustainable living/design, astrology and planetary science, physics and magnetic mechanical engineering, and time in nature. Snowboarding, camping, and days at the river are Devin’s most potent activities to clear his head and feel connected to the world on a deeper level. While a One Community consultant, Devin developed and completed all the initial 3-D renderings of the Tropical Atrium and the Earthbag Village.
Dhairya Mehta – Software Engineer: Dhairya is an accomplished software engineer with a strong foundation in Computer Science, holding a Master’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai. With robust experience in full-stack development, Dhairya has demonstrated expertise in various technologies, including React, Node.js, Python, TensorFlow, and AWS. As a member of the One Community team, he has worked on the Highest Good Network, fixing bugs and adding functions like finding a user in the projects section.
Diana Gomez – Mechanical Engineer and Team Lead: Diana graduated from UC Berkeley, and her interests lie in autonomous systems. As an undergraduate she participated in the Berkeley Autonomous Race Car Project where she co-produced two PID controllers that implement traction and cruise control on a 1/10 scale vehicle. Diana enjoys the complexity and challenges that come with introducing safety to autonomous systems. She also enjoys teaching and has been a STEM instructor/tutor for 7 years. She is involved in programs aimed at equipping underrepresented minorities with the proper tools to pursue STEM fields, and strives to establish her own program in the future. While a member of the One Community team, Diana helped develop the climate batteries for the Aquapini/Walipini structures.
Dipti Dhondarkar – Electrical Engineer: Dipti received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Nagpur University in India. She has five-plus years of experience in teaching subjects related to Electrical Engineering and is proficient in power electronics, basic electrical, electrical machines, utilization and traction. She has worked with the National Institute of Technology Nagpur, Maharashtra, India and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad Gujarat India as a lecturer and Assistant professor and has also published papers on “Stability Analysis of Symmetrical Induction Motor on Parameter Variation” and “Energy Audit Analysis of Time of Day (TOD) Metering.” As a One Community team member, Dipti applied her outstanding knowledge and background to assist with the City Center Lighting design.
Dijimba “Joss” Kabuyi Ilunga – Electrical Engineer: Dijimba earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. By his secondary school graduation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he had a strong affinity for science subjects and decided to pursue an engineering degree in Arlington because of his uncle, a UT Arlington mechanical engineer alumni. During the end of his undergraduate degree, Dijimba became passionate with microelectromechanical systems and power, especially and specifically renewable energy. He has taken graduate classes in both subjects and will pursue his Masters with emphasis on those subjects. He is bilingual in French and English, and he is currently learning Chinese (Mandarin). For recreation, Joss likes video games and is very fond of Sudoku. While a member of the One Community team, Joss completed the Vermiculture Bathroom electrical designs.
Diwei Zhang –Mechanical Engineer: Diwei received his master’s degree in the major of Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research background includes numerical analysis, modeling and analysis of dynamic systems, and control theory. While a volunteer with One Community, Diwei worked on the 3D modeling, cost analysis, and plumbing design of the hot tub, and artificial waterfall of the City Center Eco-spa component. He also helped develop a rainwater harvesting system and water distribution network for the Net-zero Bathroom component of the Earthbag Village.
Diya Wadhwani – Software Engineering: Diya was pursuing her MS in Computer Science at Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences, Oakland, and had 2.2 years of industry experience as a Software Developer when she joined One Community. Her technical expertise includes JavaScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, and other technologies, with a focus on full-stack and mobile app development. As a member of the One Community team working on the Highest Good Network software, Diya served as a Manager in Training and a member of the PR Review Leadership Team, where she helped identify areas needing additional work, managed final review of pull requests, and further developed her leadership skills. This role provided her with valuable hands-on experience and the chance to tackle real-world challenges, enhancing her technical and collaborative abilities in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Dominick Banuelos – Civil Engineering Student: Dominick is a student at California Baptist University working on getting his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Construction Management. Growing up, Dominick enjoyed viewing the different sceneries that surrounded him and wondered how some of those areas could be improved or built on in an eco-friendly way. He worked on multiple projects throughout his studies and has developed new skills in design, teamwork, project management, and communication which he anticipates to use in the construction/transportation field in the near future. While a member of the One Community team, Dominick worked on research as well as compression testing with aircrete and stabilized earth for sustainable construction.
Doug Pratt – Solar Expert and Solar Systems Design Engineer: Progressively focused from a young age, when the Arab Oil Embargo occurred it ignited in Doug a lifelong interest specifically in renewable energy and conservation. He has lived in passive solar homes both on and off-grid since 1980, worked in the renewable energy industry as an installer, engineer, teacher, and author since 1985, and now works for the largest solar provider in the United States. He has engineered, designed, and consulted for the solar electric industry at all levels from single huts in developing countries to large corporate mega-watt solar arrays. While a One Community consultant and volunteer Doug applied his vast experience and knowledge to create the initial design for the One Community sustainable energy infrastructure for our Phase I build including: Pod 1, the Duplicable Center City Hub, and the aquapini greenhouses.
Douglas Simms Stenhouse – Architect and Water Color Artist: Doug grew up in Washington DC where he practiced architecture for a number of years. He subsequently moved to Southern California to work with an aerospace company before taking over the management of an energy conservation consulting firm where he was instrumental in writing what is now the foundation of California Conservation Policy. After professionally retiring from these former endeavors, Doug focused his career on watercolor painting. While a One Community consultant/volunteer, Doug helped with over 18 months of designs and watercolor renderings of Pod 1, Pod 2, and the Duplicable Center City.
Durgeshwari Naikwade – Data Analyst: Durgeshwari has over two years of experience in data analytics and engineering and holds a master’s degree in Business Analytics. She excels at transforming data into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions and improve organizational performance. At One Community, as part of the Admin and Analytical team, she has played a key role in HR analytics, designing and creating wireframes for dashboards within the Highest Good Network software to visualize important metrics. She has also been instrumental in the hiring process, applying her analytical skills to identify and select the best candidates. Her strong analytical skills, adaptability, and commitment to the organization’s mission showcase her effective combination of management and technical expertise.
Eduardo Horta – Software Engineer: Eduardo is a dedicated developer specializing in React and Next.js, who has embarked on a transformative journey from his previous roles as a Civil Engineer and Firefighter. With a newfound passion for programming, Eduardo continuously hones his skills to maintain himself as a well-rounded Software Engineer, expanding his expertise to include back-end development using Node.js, Express and MongoDB. While on the One Community team he increased his knowledge, experience and professional growth as a developer working on the open source Highest Good Network software.
Eduardo Varjão – Software Developer: Eduardo is an experienced web developer with several projects in his career. He is an expert in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React, Node.js, various libraries and frameworks. He taught himself to program and developed a passion for programming as it can solve complex problems and improve the quality of life and human productivity. At One Community, he played a key role in software development, dealing with Git for version control, refining React components through unit tests, and resolving software issues within the open source Highest Good Network software.
Edwin Estuardo Lau Mack – Software Engineer: Edwin is an international student from Guatemala, recently graduated, with a B.S in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego. He is an enthusiastic, professional and hard-working person who is always seeking new opportunities to learn and expand his circle of skills. His interests are in software development and he loves to create products that will bring satisfaction and a smile to users and customers. One of Edwin’s key accomplishments during his academic career is that he was able to successfully deliver a full-stack project during his internship at Amazon. This project was the first front end application that managed the booking of warehouse transportation of Amazon merchandise. Edwin initially joined the team with our open source Highest Good Network software. While a member of One Community, through the demonstration of professional excellence and outstanding software development skills, he earned a promotion to the management team in less than 2 months.
Eiki Kan – Software Engineer: Eiki graduated from Northeastern University with an MS in Computer Science. As a member of the One Community Highest Good Network team, Eiki developed and helped manage the management dashboard system of the app and the breakdown and distribution of tasks. He also facilitated open communication, and encouraged knowledge sharing. Eiki demonstrated initiative and effectiveness by identifying problems and implementing solutions in both the frontend and backend – meeting requirements while improving the responsiveness of the website and the modularity of the codebase.
Elizabeth Kahn – Environmental Consultant: Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Community Development and minors in Business Management and Environmental Studies. She also has a Masters of Environmental Law and Policy (M.E.L.P.) from Vermont Law School and a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) with a minor in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. Her passion for the environment and sustainability led her to pursue all of these degrees and dedicate her career path to pursuing it in the environmental/sustainability/policy sectors. While a member of the One Community team, she shared this love for nature and the planet by applying her analytical and analysis skills doing research for the open source tutorials covering water-saving toilets, urinals, hand dryers, and faucets.
Ellen Ross Kaspi – Progressive Educator and Mind/Body Modality Specialist: Ellen is a lifelong Progressive Educator. She has a BA in Physical Education from the University of Southern California and a K-12 teaching credential. She earned her MA in Somatic Psychology at Antioch University Seattle and is a member of PEN, the Progressive Educators Network and AERO, the Alternative Education Resource Organization. Ellen has traveled across America and did a Semester at Sea in 1979 where she traveled on the floating university circumnavigating the planet while studying. She has lived in intentional communities in Northern California and Malibu and spent 2 years living on a Kibbutz in Israel. While a One Community volunteer, Ellen was foundational in helping complete the initial 52 lesson plan outlines and the complete Evaluation and Evolution process.
Emilio Nájera – Marketer and Software Developer: Emilio has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and another in Software Development Engineering. He specializes in Digital Marketing and has provided services for a range of local companies in Mexico covering a variety of sectors such as agricultural, hotel, educational, industrial safety, construction, and internet services. He strongly believes in a sustainable economy and the way technology can help solve most of the last century’s problems. That’s why he is committed to creating software solutions for areas like agronomy, health and business’ sustainability. While a member of the One Community team, Emilio helped with keyword research and Adwords marketing campaign design.
Eric Puro – Sustainable Builder and Sustainable Materials Consultant: Eric has 3 years of experience as a sustainable builder committed to do whatever it takes to help people transition into a more sustainable life. Inspired by nature each day, Eric seeks to find more ways to incorporate this nature and this inspiration into our everyday lives. He has built an earthship in Oregon, taught cob classes over England and Portugal, built one of the most sustainable structures in Europe in Portugal (which included rammed earth walls, a thatched roof, an earthen floor, and pine tar coated ropes, built low-impact indigenous style structures in the UK, and a rocket mass heater in London. Besides building, Eric is also the co-founder of ThePOOSH.org, a website that connects people who desire to learn about and build sustainable structures with projects seeking their help. For Eric there are never any problems, only solutions. Eric contributed to One Community by providing sustainable building research and advanced eco-development suggestions for the 7 One Community village models.
Faeq Abu Alia – Architectural Engineer: Faeq holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Birzeit University-Palestine. He has a deep interest in sustainable architecture and contemporary design. Faeq is passionate about creating functional and environmentally responsible spaces. The dedication to environmentally conscious building design that Faeq exhibits in his work is evident in his emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability. He has worked on various volunteer and freelance projects, as well as collaborations with global organizations. As a member of the One Community team, Faeq is contributing to the modeling and design of the Duplicable City Center, creating visual presentations and walkthrough videos that have enhanced the user experience.
Faisal Rasheed – Graphic Designer: Faisal is a passionate, self-taught graphic designer with two years of professional experience. Continually improving his skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Faisal brings creativity and dedication to every project. While pursuing a BS in Biotechnology from Virtual University of Pakistan, he aims to contribute to the scientific field, sustainability goals, and the growth of his country. As a graphic designer, he uses his work to reflect his imagination and life journey—capturing moments of joy, hardship, and growth. Through his art, Faisal hopes to motivate and inspire others to find beauty and meaning in every experience and show how challenges can be transformed into opportunities. He believes that with consistency, creativity, and resilience, anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter the obstacles they face. Faisal is on a path of constant learning and growth. His greatest motivation is to make his parents proud by using his skills and creativity to contribute something meaningful to both his community and beyond. While a member of the One Community team, Faisal helped create beautiful and professional images covering areas including Large-scale Gardening, to Consensus Self-governance, Permaculture, Most Sustainable Lightbulbs, and more.
Falgun Patel – Mechanical Engineer: Falgun holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering & the ‘Leaders in Sustainability’ Graduate Certificate from University of California, Los Angeles. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in and led teams for student vehicle design and fabrication competitions. He is skilled in 3D Modeling (CATIA V5, SolidWorks) and FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus) softwares, with the help of which he has designed various mechanical systems. His interest in electric vehicles, renewable energy and sustainability has driven him to work on projects related to energy storage, energy conservation, smart microgrids and green buildings. While a One Community Volunteer, Falgon helped update the complete Highest Good Energy roll out details in conjunction with updating the Solar and Wind Energy Microgrid open source guides.
Fan Yang – Full Stack Software Developer: Fan Yang is a skilled and versatile full stack developer with a robust background in frontend development, unit testing, CI/CD, and MERN stack development. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at New York University, Fan combines academic knowledge with practical experience. Before joining the One Community team, Fan honed his skills in various development roles, demonstrating a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and delivering high-quality software solutions. His dedication to volunteering with One Community reflects his belief in leveraging technology for the greater good of humanity. While a member of the Highest Good Network software team, Fan helped with troubleshooting, unit-testing, and MERN stack development.
Fernando Remolina – Industrial Engineer Specializing in Project Management: Fernando has over 10 years experience in project management related to Ship Repair, Shipbuilding, and Oil & Gas industries. He received his certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2011 and has become an author and public speaker on project management in the ship repair industry. Fernando has volunteered for different organizations such PMI Colombia Chapter, PMI Buenos Aires Chapter, and the United Nations. A very enthusiastic person who cares about the environment and strongly believes in helping create a better world and future for all, Fernando helped the One Community team by managing the 3rd design phase (of 4) for completion of the vermiculture bathroom designs.
Filipe Santos de Oliveira – Front End Developer: Filipe is an engineering and maintenance technician with 15 years of experience. He has worked on projects such as the Casa da Moeda do Brasil, the Brazilian Navy’s submarine construction shipyard, and Fiocruz, where COVID-19 vaccines are produced. Recently, Filipe has decided to transition to the field of IT in pursuit of becoming a front-end developer. With his experience and passion for technology, Filipe was determined to become a successful front-end developer and make meaningful contributions to the field. He received his first opportunity at One Community, where he worked on the Highest Good Network, furthering his skills as a front-end developer.
Frank Roland Vilcapaza Diaz – Mechanical Engineer: Frank graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He is a creative and highly motivated Engineer-in-Training who knows how to work independently and with a team. Frank is passionate about clean energy and the development of new designs that are green. While a member of the One Community team, Frank applied his background knowledge on mechanical systems and thermodynamics for the calculation of energy systems and HVAC.
Gabriela Vilela S . C. Diniz – Architect and Urban Planner: Gabriela holds of a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Planning, and also has a scholarship in the Brazilian government program “Ciência Sem Fronteiras” (Science Without Borders), where she studied abroad at Washington State University, taking English and Architecture classes. Gabriela has 5+ years of professional experience as an Architect working with Corporate Interiors improving the daily work experience of 5,000+ employees. She believes that design is more than what you see, it is what you experience on a daily basis and how it contributes to improving your quality of life. While a member of the One Community team, Gabriela helped design a unique “Fairy Garden” themed hotel room for the Living Dome of the Duplicable City Center.
Geeta Matkar – Full Stack Software Engineer: Geeta holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and is driven by her passion for solving real-world problems through technology. Specializing in JavaScript, React, and Node.js, she enjoys crafting scalable web solutions that make a positive impact. Beyond coding, she finds inspiration in reading tech blogs to stay updated on emerging trends, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and immersing herself in music. A continuous learner at heart, she believes in using her skills not just for personal growth but to contribute meaningfully to society. As a member of the One Community team, she has already reviewed over 50 pull requests, ensuring quality and stability of Highest Good Network software while helping to drive impactful change through technology.
George Koshy – Design Engineer: George is a highly analytical and skilled mechanical engineer with an interest in Aerospace engineering. He has a broad research history and meticulous attention to details, enjoying investigating, studying and understanding necessary data to optimize methodologies. He has experience with research in tribology and fluid flow for private institutes, product design, development, and testing for private institutions, and performing well in fast-paced work environments. He’s passionate about sustainability, the environment, and creating a better and brighter future. While a member of the One Community team, George helped test and design the most safe, affordable, and practical DIY hub connector bracket for the Duplicable City Center.
George Nguyen – Licensed Electrician: George is a Licensed Electrician in electrical construction. He has assembled, installed and tested numerous electrical systems on condos, homes, Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, Biomolecular Nanotechnology Center at UC Berkeley, Oakland International Airport and more. George feels that conscious, awakening people can create awesome, beautiful, supportive communities that will accomplish amazing things. While a volunteer with One Community, George assisted with questions regarding our energy infrastructure.
Gowtham Dongari – Software Engineer Team: Gowtham is a software engineer with over two years of experience and is currently pursuing his master’s in software engineering at Southern Methodist University. He has a solid foundation in both front-end and back-end development, excelling in creating robust and scalable software solutions. Gowtham’s expertise includes building APIs, developing mobile and web applications, and optimizing state management. He is proficient in Python, Java, and JavaScript, and skilled in frameworks and tools such as React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, and AWS. Demonstrating leadership, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills, Gowtham is an ambitious, results-driven individual who continually seeks opportunities to learn and grow. As a member of the One Community Highest Good Network team, Gowtham has actively contributed to the development of a team management tool, working on features like user time logs, team location search and filter, weekly log summaries, and enhanced UI/UX. He has collaborated on and reviewed over 45 pull requests (PRs), ensuring the smooth integration of contributions.
Gmon Kuzhiyanikkal – Software Engineer: Gmon has over five years of experience specializing in application development, distributed systems, and cloud technologies. He holds a Master’s in Computer Science from Northeastern University and is proficient in C++, Python, Java, AWS, and Docker. His work in AI has been recognized at the IEEE CSIS All India Meet. Gmon is committed to producing high-quality code and contributing to agile planning processes, thriving in real-time collaborative environments, and always eager to tackle new challenges. Gmon has led the development of scalable microservices at Bosch and ISRO, where he developed advanced algorithms for rocket propulsion, significantly improving computational efficiency. As a member of the One Community team, Gmon has helped develop multiple features for the Highest Good Networ application, ensuring adherence to coding standards and conducting thorough pull request reviews.
Gregory Quach – Data Scientist/Data Enterer: As a Data Science major at the University of California, San Diego, Gregory is committed to applying his academic knowledge to benefit the community. He aims to create an open-source framework to enhance resource accessibility and promote sustainability. As a key member of the One Community team working on the Transition Kitchen initiative, he demonstrated his dedication and skills in practical problem-solving and community development by analyzing menu and recipe data, working to aggregate and organize the data, then creating data-informed cost analysis and shopping list plans.
Guilherme Wustro – Full Stack Developer: Guilherme graduated in civil engineering but decided it wasn’t what he wanted to focus on, so he looked for other career choices and, as someone who has focused his entire life on technology, thought that IT was something he would pursue. He then joined Kenzie Academy Brazil to further explore this option. There he developed various projects, a pet hotel page, a delivery website dedicated to people with dietary restrictions, and others (all found at his portfolio page). As a way to develop his programming skills, he joined the One Community team, where he was in charge of the Highest Good Network APP permissions management, bug fixing and polishing the user tab. Guilherme is comfortable with React, Javascript, Next.js, some other languages, and still learning new ones. His goal is to be capable at every back and front-end task. While he worked at One Community, he also remained engaged in other projects, was responsible for full stack menu management pages, a school food delivery company’s contracts, as well as some other page improvement. As a passionate developer, Guilherme strives to make a positive difference in the IT universe and be a capable force for the industry. He is doing his best to improve society’s quality of life, all while making sure the planet doesn’t suffer for it.
Guy Grossfeld – Graphic Designer: Guy has a Bachelor Degree in Visual Art Animation and is now pursing a Bachelor Degree in Simulation Game Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Through classes from college and additional classes at an art studio, Guy has experience and expertise with Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Unity, Autodesk 3DS Max, Adobe Illustrator, graphic design, and drawing. He enjoys animes and is inspired by many animes such as Naruto and One Piece. His passion is also with video games and enjoys many great games such as Final Fantasy, Zelda, and Kingdom Hearts. While a One Community volunteer, Guy volunteered for over a year using his outstanding skills to develop our final real-to-life renders for the Highest Good Housing villages #3-7.
Hamilton Mateca – AutoCAD and Revit Drafter and Designer: Hamilton is a space planner, drafter, and CAD operator from Angola who has been living in the United States for the past 15 years. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and is currently learning Albanian. Hamilton has an extensive Interior Design education from The Art Institute of Philadelphia as well as AutoCAD certification from Ashworth College. He specializes in design development, architectural drafting and design, mechanical drafting and design, and 3D modeling and illustration. He possesses the creative ability of manipulation and coordination of materials, technology, light and shadow. He also has Photoshop training and advanced Revit and CorelDraw skills. This combined experience and education makes him the ideal consultant for planning and designing spaces with ambiances that reflect aesthetic functionality for technical, social, and environmental purposes. To boost his creative thinking, Hamilton maintains a curriculum of traveling, studying, and spending time with loved ones. He also loves snowboarding, which in turn keeps him entertained during the winter. His contribution to One Community was in the design of the Compressed Earth Block Village (Pod 4), where Hamilton had the chance to develop most of the foundational aspects of this building.
Hannah Copeman – Structural Engineer: Hannah earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, emphasizing on Structural Engineering, both from the University of Toronto. She has experience working as a structural engineer and a restoration engineer for architecture and engineering firms in New York City, as well as in Long Island, New York. Her interest in working in the built environment stems from her desire to positively contribute to society by designing tangible structures that are beneficial on a local and global scale. With a persistent passion in sustainable infrastructure, Hannah has also obtained certification as a LEED Green Associate and is continuing her path in triple bottom line focused design by working with One Community. While a member of the One Community team, Hannah helped develop the structure of the Earth Dome, finished the Earthbag engineering, loft Engineering, and completed walk-through tutorials for the foundations of the Earthbag Village domes.
Hannah Gardner Hattersley – Software Engineer: Hannah is a React.js developer with a background in education and the nonprofit sector and an experienced on-her-feet thinker who values data-informed decisions and thoughtful communication. She is excited rather than discouraged by bugs in code and enjoys finding an alternative creative solution. While a member of the One Community team, Hannah helped with debugging, testing badges, and reviewing code for the Highest Good Network.
Haohui Lin – Software Engineer: Haohui is an experienced software engineer with a rich background spanning over 2 years, encompassing a wide array of project types. His expertise lies in thriving within dynamic and challenging environments, where he excels in solving intricate problems through efficient and effective solutions. Haohui possesses a deep sense of ownership, coupled with a passion for tackling problems using advanced software technology, and a keen ability to empathetically understand user needs. Proficient in crafting client-side applications, web APIs, and logical services, his solutions are characterized by their reliability, scalability, and maintainability. While a member of the One Community Highest Good Network software team, Haohui made substantial contributions to maintaining the business platform and orchestrating detailed project development for all endeavors undertaken by One Community.
Haoji Bian – Software Developer: A student double majoring in Computer Science and Data Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Haoji has two years of experience in software development using Spring, Python, and MySQL and one year of experience in the MERN stack. With professional experiences ranging from a Full Stack Developer role and founding his own platform, Katfun.com, Haoji is comfortable managing and delivering on complex projects. He has developed responsive, user-friendly systems and websites. He also has experience as an Embedded Software Development Intern. As a part of diverse teams, Haoji has employed his programming acumen to create efficient solutions and drive projects to successful completion, demonstrating a passion for innovation and quality in the tech industry. While a One Community volunteer, Haoji has helped the teams develop new features and fix bugs in the Highest Good Network.
Haoxuan “Hayes” Lei – Structural Engineer: Having interned in a design office and completed over five years of structural engineering study, Haoxuan is experienced with a diversity of structural engineering areas ranging from foundation to prestressed members and covering concrete to steel. He applies his skills in structural design using both SAP 2000 and AutoCAD. Growing up in a metropolis, Hayes understands how valuable a blue sky and a deep breath in a green forest can be for people surrounded by concrete buildings. It is this understanding that has driven Hayes to contribute his enthusiasm and skills to make a better world. While a member of the One Community team, Hayes worked on the Duplicable City Center.
Harlley Bastos – Full Stack Developer: Harlley has 3+ years of experience in React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Tailwind CSS. He’s passionate about building web applications that are user-friendly, interactive, and efficient, and always looking to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to emerging web technologies. Skilled in developing robust, scalable, and secure applications with a focus on performance optimization, he’s experienced in problem-solving, debugging, and testing. Harlley is a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. While a member of One Community, he supported the development of our cutting-edge and open-source Highest Good Network software.
Harsh Bodgal – Software Engineer: With four years experience in product development, Harsh brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. He specializes in Front end development, leveraging his expertise to enhance user experiences across diverse domains. Being a part of the Software Team at One Community, he contributes significantly to product development, employing his skills in React and Express to write efficient code. Harsh’s responsibilities extend beyond coding; he meticulously reviews code, proposes enhancements, and upholds the product’s quality standards, positioning himself as a future leader in software engineering and management within the organization. Harsh is helping reviewing work and enhancing the user interface of Weekly Summaries Reports.
Harsha Narendra Kulkarni “ Data Analyst: Harsha has over 3 years of Data Analysis and Engineering experience and believes in using data to drive business decisions. She graduated with a Master’s in Management Information Systems degree from Texas A&M University, and is proficient in building data pipelines, ETL, Python, SQL and Tableau. As a member of the One Community Team, Harsha worked on managing the Google Analytics team and took on the responsibilities of a scrum master and team leader. She helped to boost Google Ad campaigns to increase user engagement and tracked the changes by building visualizations in Google Analytics.
Hayley Rosario – Sustainability Research Assistant: Hayley has a few years of experience and certifications while working with Microsoft and Google. While she is still in high school, she enjoys learning more about the field of sustainability and where it can be implemented. Hayley studies mechanical engineering and design in school, and hopes she can use the knowledge she is gaining to help other students who want to learn more about sustainability too. Applying her passion for learning and experience in technology, Hayley is working with a member of the One Community core team to help complete the Highest Good Food rollout plan and webpage update.
Hector Agudelo-Carmona – Front-end Developer: Hector is an enthusiastic front-end developer with a background in the food and hospitality industry. Joining One Community as an entry-level developer, he contributed his expertise in software development to create exceptional web experiences. With a client-focused approach and strong collaboration skills, Hector worked closely with the team to develop visually appealing interfaces to ensure seamless user interactions. His adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving abilities made him a valuable addition to One Community’s software development of the open source Highest Good Network software.
Hemanth Kotaru – Civil Engineer, MS Structural Engineering: Hemanth is a Structural Engineer and a research enthusiast pursuing independent research studies. Currently a Master’s Student in Structural and Earthquake Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles, Hemanth’s fields of interest include FEA, Earthquake Hazard Mitigation, Structural Mechanics, Computational Tools for Civil Engineering, and Alternative Building Methods. Before his Master’s, Hemanth worked as a developer for GIS software and also worked as a research intern during his bachelors. Hemanth’s interest towards Sustainability stems from a concern for nature and inspiration from ancient constructions. Observing the sustainability and performance of several ancient architectural wonders over centuries, he was inspired to explore, understand and improvise the ancient construction procedures to modern requirements. As part of this, Hemanth worked on the One Community team as a researcher for the Earthbag Village and helped conduct detailed research and calculations covering the engineering details and other challenging questions related to this construction method.
Henry Nguyen – Software Developer: Having earned his BS in Computer Sciences and minored in Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of Washington, Henry is both a software developer and an artist. He also loves to work with communities, connecting and bringing people together. Born in Vietnam, Henry came to the US in 2013 and helped build a Vietnamese community in Seattle that grew to one of the largest Vietnamese communities in the US. As a community builder he has also been a video maker, administrator, and a web developer. Henry feels software programming is the art of connecting people, so he has a passion for making software that can help people connect to each other. Henry joined the Highest Good Network team to be a part of a project that supports and connects people globally. His primary contribution was creating the ability for the Work Breakdown Interface to import data from a Google Spreadsheet and/or Excel Document.
Henry Vennard – Mechanical Engineer: Henry graduated from University of Colorado, Boulder, and has demonstrated his problem solving, research, and project management skills through his work as a research assistant. He believes sustainability is critical to tackle today’s global challenges. While a member of the One Community team, Henry helped with the phase-2 research and design of the climate battery component of the Aquapini/Walipini structures.
Hetvi Patel – Full Stack Developer. Hetvi is a visionary web developer with over 5 years of experience. She has completed her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. Hetvi has developed websites using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript, PHP, Node.js, Express.js, React.js, and Tailwind CSS. She also designs databases, optimizes queries in SQL, and has worked with MongoDB and MySQL. Additionally, she has experience with CMS platforms like WordPress and has contributed to its open-source community. She is enthusiastic about creating web applications with unique functionalities that provide real value and assistance to people. Driven by a love for exploring new technologies and ideas, Hetvi constantly seeks to innovate and improve. She is also exploring 3D web design in Three.js to develop unique websites. As a member of the One Community team, Hetvi is working on the Highest Good Network software by fixing bugs and creating unit tests to achieve a TDD approach.
Hoang Pham – Software Engineer: Hoang, a recent graduate from DePauw University with a B.A. in Computer Science, has consistently demonstrated his ability to quickly learn and adapt to the rapidly evolving tech landscape. Throughout his academic career and various projects, Hoang has showcased his skills in both individual and collaborative settings. He firmly believes that modern technologies play a crucial role in shaping our future and transforming interpersonal interactions. While a member of the One Community team, Hoang contributed to the open-source Highest Good Network software. His efforts have been pivotal in enhancing the user interface and user experience, as well as addressing and resolving existing bugs. Hoang’s commitment to improving this platform underscores his passion for leveraging technology to create positive, impactful change.
Howie Miao – Software Developer: Howie has been studying Computer Science for over 5 years from Web Development, Artificial Intelligence, as well as Software Development. He has successfully collaborated with our large teams, developing new features, and creating unique solutions for complex problems. He believes in high efficiency, focuses heavily on finding easy solutions for hard problems, with this comes a love for learning new material and studying. As a member of the One Community team working on the Highest Good Network software, Howie has helped develop our team website with a focus on our front-end and user permissions and solving new issues that arise.
Hritvik Mahajan – Data Analyst: Hritvik is an accomplished Data Analyst with over two years of experience in data analytics, cloud computing, and project management. He holds a master’s degree in Data Analytics from Northeastern University and has expertise in tools like Python, SQL, and data visualization platforms. Hritvik has a demonstrated ability to drive data-informed decision-making and streamline processes in dynamic environments. He leverages technology to develop innovative solutions, enhance operational efficiency, and integrate sustainability principles into data management and infrastructure. As a member of the One Community team, Hritvik has made significant contributions to managing PR reviews for the Highest Good Network software, conducting front-end testing, and shaping One Community’s social media strategy.
Huijie Liu – Software Engineer: Huijie is a recent Master’s graduate in Computer Science from Brandeis University, with a strong background in full-stack development. She is fluent in programming languages including Python, Java, and JavaScript, and proficient in frameworks and tools such as React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, and AWS. As a software engineer at One Community, Huijie has contributed to the development of the Highest Good Network,. She resolved critical software bugs related to database update operations, ensuring the accuracy of important user data and the robustness of the system. Additionally, she is focused on developing features for the summary dashboard.
Huiya Yang – Architectural Designer: Huiya graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a dual degree in Architecture and Urban and Regional Planning. With one year of work experience and 8 years of academic experience, she joined One Community highly skilled in the preparation of detailed project designs, and the production of construction documents. Thinking of herself as an architect and urban planner, Huiya believes that she has an obligation to contribute her knowledge and passion to the sustainable development of society and the environment. While a member of the One Community team, Huiya helped with design updates for the Duplicable City Center.
Ian Coletti – Environmental Studies Major, Researcher: As an Environmental Studies undergrad at the College of the Holy Cross, Ian volunteers in the Eco Action club for sustainability on campus. Over the summer of 2020 he also took part in working groups which have helped to draft a climate action plan for the college. Ian hopes to find work in positions that positively impact the environment. While a member of the One Community team, Ian helped complete the first round of research for the sustainable window and door products for One Community.
Ian Oliver Malinay – Mechanical Engineer, Master Plumber, True Advisor and LEED AP BD+C: Ian earned his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic University of the Philippines and currently holds a License as Mechanical Engineer after passing the PRC National Board Examination. He is passionate about Sustainable Building Design & Assessment, especially Building Energy Modeling using DesignBuilder / Energyplus software which is developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and is one of the most widely accepted modeling software. Ian is knowledgeable with 3-D Modeling, Visualization, Simulation, Daylighting, HVAC Design, LEED E.A. Minimum Energy Performance, E.A. Credit Optimize Energy Performance and ASHRAE 90.1 calculations, Optimization, and Computational Fluid Dynamics calculations. He is also a Facade Thermal Simulator using Therm, Windows, and Optics softwares and qualified to assist in the LEED certification process internationally as a LEED Accredited Professional. In addition to this, Ian is a Licensed Master Plumber in the Philippines (PRC National Board Examination) and qualified also to assist in the TRUE Zero Waste certification process internationally as a certified TRUE Advisor. While a member of the One Community team, Ian applied his diverse experience to help complete most of the Duplicable City Center energy modeling and HVAC design so it can achieve LEED Platinum certification.
Ibrahim Al-Balushi – Technical Management and Support Specialist: Ibrahim has over 4 years of experience in technical management and support, specializing in resolving diverse technical needs for clients. He is passionate about ensuring that his team and clients have the best systems and tools to succeed, finding deep satisfaction in problem-solving. Ibrahim’s motivation comes from the ability to make a positive change and difference, driving him to excel in his work. He thrives on collaborating with diverse teams and supporting their software needs. Ibrahim was excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the success of One Community’s mission and while on the team he helped with security aspects of the Highest Good Network to ensure confidentiality and integrity with software code.
Ilya Flaks – Full Stack Software Engineer: Although Ilya is relatively new to software engineering, he joined our team with experience coding for non-profit organizations. He comes from a background of chemistry and biology and has worked as a flavor chemist in the food industry for over 10 years. He completed an MIT coding bootcamp in 2022 where he became proficient with the MERN stack. Ilya continued to learn on his own, mastering technologies such as GraphQL, MySQL, Next.js, Java Spring Boot, React Native and many more. Ilya is passionate about creating the best possible user experience and learning the latest technologies to achieve that goal. While a member of the One Community Highest Good Network software team, Ilya worked on adding new functionalities to the Building Management dashboard both on the back end and the front end and troubleshooting bugs in the existing codebase.
Imran Issa ” Software Developer: Imran is a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in IT and over three years of software development experience. He began his self-taught programming journey in 2020 starting with Java and expanding his expertise to include Python, JavaScript, and Flutter. He has also explored PHP, C#, and Linux, showcasing his versatility and to grow and refine his skills. He believes in the power of continuous learning and the endless possibilities in software development. Currently, as a Full-Stack MERN Developer on the One Community team, he contributes to the Highest Good Network software by focusing on permissions management. This involves implementing and fixing permissions to improve accessibility and authorization, proper data access and controlled feature access.
Iris Hsu – Industrial Designer: Iris earned her BFA in Industrial Design from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. During her time there she developed an effective design thinking process through observing people in their daily life and focusing on user-friendly designs and practices. Iris believes that a good design should be emotionally expressive as well as functional, building a connection between people and the things they use. Her focus is on designing products that benefit our living environment in a sustainable way and through inventive and playful features. In Iris’ words, “Design is like making a gift for someone, and having love and empathy to the surroundings with effective solutions.” As a One Community Industrial Designer, Iris volunteered for a full year designing the open source pipe chair/table, couch, and shelving furniture, doing cost analysis research, and creating the initial assembly instructions for these components of the Duplicable City Center library.
Ivan Manzurov – Graphic Designer: Ivan states, “Born in 1994 in Siberia, I came a long way to remember the true self. This led me to devote life to making a change with the power of art, and an open soul.” While a One Community volunteer, Ivan applied his outstanding graphic design skills to design and color coordinate all of the icons used throughout the One Community website, almost 100 different icons covering food, energy, housing, economics, Highest Good Living, and more. Jack Reed – Global Visionary and Author of The Next Evolution: A Blueprint for Transforming the Planet: Jack is a speaker, seminar leader, consultant for corporations and non-profit organizations, and trainer in the consensus process and mindsets and methodologies of people dedicated to a future supportive of The Highest Good of All. He has 15 years experience living in an urban cooperative community where he was an active leader and has used his knowledge and experience to help such clients as The Wilderness Institute, Amgen, the Educare Foundation, the Peace Theological Seminary, The University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Unified School District, Southern California Edison, and the National Parks Service. Jack facilitates consensus trainings for the One Community team and is an on-going consultant for our shared vision of a sustainable planet and demonstrating a blueprint for people living and creating for The Highest Good of All.
Jagannathan Shankar Mahadevan – Mechanical Engineer: Jagannathan earned his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Dallas. Throughout the course of graduate study, Jagannathan has served as a Teaching Assistant for 2 years and has a knack for interpreting and conveying technicalities in layman terms. His Master’s thesis involved optimizing laser attributes for favorable laser-metal interactions. He is a regular volunteer for “Engineering bright futures for Autism” – an annual volunteering event aimed at enhancing social competencies of kids displaying signs of autism. Prior to obtaining his Master’s degree, Jagannathan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, India. Currently, Jagannathan is passionate about sustainable development and believes in efficient utilization of fundamental resources to combat global climate change. Apart from work, he enjoys spending time outdoors by playing volleyball. In his free time, Jagannathan does not fail to visit a state park, pitch a tent, and camp. While a member of the One Community team, Jagannathan applied his diverse skill set to complete the cost analysis for villages 2-7 of the 7 sustainable village models and initial climate battery design research and calculations.
Jaime Arango – Graphic Designer: With a strong conceptual ability to create original layouts and recreate existing designs, Jaime has a comprehensive background with over 15 year experience in CAD design, color themes, and trend concepts in the fashion industry, plus 2 years working as a successful freelance graphic designer. He is a versatile, highly motivated, creative problem solver with the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Jaime’s best asset is his ability to create with what’s available and is currently focused on making a positive impact on planet Earth. While volunteering for One Community, Jaime used his graphic design skills as a Social Media Image Creator.
James Del Monaco – Mechanical Engineer and LEED AP: James is Sustainability Director and Senior Mechanical Engineer at P2S Engineering with experience in many Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects. His LEED duties have included the design of airside and hydronic systems, documentation of LEED points, advanced energy modeling, ventilation and occupant comfort calculations, and the design of control systems for Measurement & Verification. As a LEED Project Administrator, he has provided guidance to the entire project team from kick-off through occupancy. As a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), James has served on the ASHRAE High Performance Buildings Conference Steering Committee as well as the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Long Beach Branch Steering Committee. James helped One Community with the initial planning and design for the Duplicable City Center to demonstrate maximum sustainability, duplicability, and achieve LEED Platinum certification.
James Herrigel – Student Researcher: James is a senior in high school at Jones College Prep in Chicago, Illinois. Although only 17, James is passionate about sustainability and spends much of his free time volunteering for projects related to his ideals. Over the summer of 2018, James interned as a research assistant at the University of Chicago’s Abrams Environmental Law Clinic, where he conducted and organized research that eventually contributed to a published legal analysis. James hopes to continue developing his skills and continue working to mitigate climate change in order to shape a more sustainable future. While a member of the One Community team, James conducted the detailed research necessary to create the Most Sustainable Paints, Stains, Varnish, Sealers page and the Most Sustainable Adhesives page.
James Nance – Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager: James is a licensed mechanical engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional with broad experience designing and certifying a variety of different types of facilities, efficient designs with specific experience in comprehensive facility energy modeling. His focus is offering valuable guidance to a sustainable design team as each discipline is integrated into the whole. James’ particular expertise is with modeling, designing, and implementing thermal control systems as it relates to Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Applying this diversity and depth of experience in comprehensive facility energy modeling. Jamie Cruz – Administrative Assistant: Jamie began her Project Management journey with One Community on our Administrative Team. She has demonstrated success working in fast-paced environments and on complex projects requiring efficient and effective solutions to challenging problems. She believes in efficiency with regard to the use of resources, doing more with less, and contributing to sustainability with resources and infrastructure as a path to having a positive impact on the environment and the economy. While a member of the One Community team, Jamie contributed to the weekly updates posts on The One Community Updates Blog, provided ongoing feedback and support to the volunteer team, and helped manage and maintain the complete One Community development process through her administrative efforts.
Jarot Tamba – Civil Engineering Student: Jarot is a student at California Baptist University in Riverside studying to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Growing up, Jarot spent much of his free time enjoying the outdoors as well as modifying and working on classic cars and motorcycles. He has a strong background in 2D and 3D modeling, drafting, and the mechanical aspect of engineering. This led him to develop his passion for structural and transportation engineering. Jarot is an advocate for sustainable practices as well as the preservation of the outdoors. While a member of the One Community team, Jarot was part of the compression testing team conducting research on materials such as concrete, aircrete and stabilized earth.
Jason Kim –Software Engineer – A UCLA graduate with a degree in Math and Economics, Jason has 2 years of general programming experience and 1 year experience primarily as a Full Stack Developer with a focus on React. Before that, he worked as a CPA for 8 years. During his time as a CPA, Jason developed a passion for development and building solutions that others will use. He then decided to embark on a journey to follow his passion, building several personal projects using the latest tech such as React. Jason felt the Highest Good Network would be a great opportunity to put his development skills to use in a professional setting, and at the same time have a lasting impact on a good cause. While a member of the One Community team, he helped develop critical features in the Management Dashboard, review code, and debug.
Jatin Agrawal – Software Engineer: Jatin is a dedicated software engineer with two years of experience in software development. Fluent in programming languages like JavaScript and familiar with frameworks and tools such as React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, Express.js, REST APIs, and GitHub, he is passionate about leveraging technology for social good. As a member of the One Community team, Jatin contributes to the web development of the Highest Good Network software, and he focuses on creating impactful software solutions that make a positive difference. He has successfully added a feature that allows permissions to be added or removed for quick action functions on user profiles, enhancing user management and functionality. A startup enthusiast at heart, he aspires to launch his own startup in the future, driven by his innovative spirit and entrepreneurial mindset. When not coding, he enjoys staying updated with the latest tech trends and contributing to projects that benefit the community.
Jay Srinivasan – Full Stack Software Engineer: Jay is a versatile software engineer with experience across the stack and in various industries such as esports, fashion, retail, and e-commerce. He has successfully worked at small companies such as BeFrugal and XSET, where he demonstrated an ability to hit the ground running and contribute to critical projects. He has also shown the poise and competence to work at a large corporation like PVH. Jay strongly believes in flexibility, technical expertise, and understanding a product from diverse perspectives, not just as an engineer. Since joining the One Community team, Jay has contributed both as an engineer and a manager. As a full stack software engineer working on the open source Highest Good Network, Jay has made crucial contributions to code coverage of tests for the volunteer application, ensuring a robust application that is resilient to significant changes from various sources. He has also made important contributions to the application’s security by implementing new password policies and has enhanced accessibility on a wider variety of devices through UI optimization. As a manager-in-training, Jay conducts weekly reviews for his team, providing individual feedback and support.
Jennifer Engelmeier – Eco-Pool and Spa Water Consultant: Jennifer has 15 years of experience working with DEL Ozone, specializing in reducing chemicals by utilizing ozone technology and other natural water purifiers and clarifiers. In 2011 Jennifer started her own business to help people searching for better, healthier water and operated that business until 2018. Through her years of working in the industry, Jen combined a wealth of experience with an extensive community of pool, spa, and sanitation experts to help us with the initial Duplicable Center City natural pool and spa designs to minimize environmental impact while maximizing water quality, health, and safety.
Jennifer Lee – Graphic Designer: Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Communication Arts with a concentration in Design. As a lifelong creative with a specialty in brand identity, Jennifer enjoys the careful selection of: color, type and shape when it comes to helping clients craft the face of their brand. She is a great lover of the outdoors and has camped since a young age this is where she really grew to appreciate the beauty of nature. While a member of the One Community Team, Jennifer applied her creative skills as a web designer on the Permaculture Design Webpage and editor on the Earthbag Construction Footers, Foundation, and Flooring Webpage.
Jennifer Zhou – Self-Taught Web Designer: Jennifer has been an overachiever in everything she participates in. Her dedication and perseverance has given her numerous leadership opportunities, leading her to become the Vice President of Science Olympiad, President of The Hugs Project, and Youth Ambassador for Animal Assisted Happiness. Her love for the sustainability movement started with a competition called Green Generation. After participating in this competition, she realized how unsustainable our life is, which motivated her to become an active participant in the green movement and to join One Community. While a member of the One Community Team, Jennifer helped test a new One Community website design, design pages of the site, and write code for our main-hub search engines.
Jeson Hu – Aerospace Engineer: Jeson is a certified Engineer-In-Training who graduated from UCLA with a Master degree in Aerospace Engineering. Currently he’s a Project Engineering Advisor in a small company that analyzes and advises on company’s technology investments. He has designed aircraft/UAV models with attention to detail, demonstrated capability of delivering challenging engineering projects under set time-frames, and has extensive knowledge of building light-weight and durable components according to customer/client requirements. Jeson believes that collaboration is the key to business success and commits on a daily basis to building positive relationships with colleagues and senior management. It is through these bonds that organizations build success. While a member of the One Community team, Jeson helped with research for One Community’s solar microgrid sizing and cost analysis, Solar Incentive Rates and Net Metering Research, and other rollout details that are part of the Highest Good Energy component.
Jessica Fairbanks – Administrative Assistant: Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Environmental Education from the University of California, Davis in 2023. She then joined the One Community team, encouraging her experience in project management and promoting her passion for environmental sustainability. She has demonstrated success managing complex tasks in a dynamic work environment by effectively applying her prioritization and communication skills. Jessica believes that the first step in creating positive environmental change is making sustainable resources and knowledge accessible and understandable to the world. As a member of the One Community team, Jessica has contributed to the weekly progress updates on the One Community Updates Blog, hired new One Community Volunteers, created volunteer ads for new positions within the Highest Good Food team, and developed work breakdown structures to communicate the importance of Highest Good food positions.
Jessica Santos – Architect: Owner of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in architecture and urbanism, Jessica has 4+ years of architecture experience and believes that living spaces have a direct impact on people’s lives. She’s worked at the Environment Department in São Paulo, Brazil, collaborating with many park implementations, adaptations and reforms. After that, she worked for a factory responsible for processing and finishing natural and industrialized stones for civil construction, delivering quotes to architects and builders. To improve her skills in architecture projects and to never stop learning, Jessica also worked freelance with a fellow architect. Bilingual in English and Portuguese, she thrives in fast-paced multicultural environments and is passionate about diversity, art and photography. While a member of the One Community team, Jessica applied her skills to develop creative interior design for rooms within the Duplicable City Center.
Jessica Wienke – CEO & Co-Owner of The Artisan Wheelhouse & Roots of Medicine; Organizational & Leadership Development Specialist, Plant Food & Medicine Specialist, Solutionist: Jessica has a double major BA in Organizational Administration and Sociology with a minor in Communication from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and has received certifications in Professional Consulting from NoonDay Ventures, and executive-level facilitation & presentation from Executive Technique in Chicago. With a diversity of experience from business and leadership development, management, instruction, and facilitation, and hundreds of hours of studies in using plants for healing, Jessica volunteered for over 5 years with the One Community team. Her primary areas of contribution include extensive editing and content creation for the Food & Education components and most of the top-level general information pages.
Jessica Zynda – A.S. Computer Aided Drafting/Design: Jessica first learned engineering design in high school and expanded her skills in college using programs such as Pro-E, SolidWorks, and Inventor. Raised working at her family’s tavern, she built a strong work ethic and was able to support her enjoyment for seeing people smile, working in customer service for over 10 years. Throughout this time she continued using AutoCAD and other drafting/design programs professionally and for hobbies. Always believing in a philosophy of waste not want not, Jessica has held the constant hope for a world where people have all their necessities met through efficient designs and resource usage and allocation. Jessica admires design and innovation and intends to further her education by engaging Industrial Engineering next. Hobbies include walking/spending time with her husband, abstract expressionism painting with watercolor, meditation, reading and learning, and using her AutoCAD skills to make 3-D maps for board games. While a One Community volunteer, Jessica helped transfer sketches for the Earthbag Village (Pod 1) from hand drawings into AutoCAD.
Jiadong Zhang – Software Engineer: Jiadong is a recent graduate of the Software Engineering program at Carnegie Mellon University, with his undergraduate studies completed at the University of California, Irvine. Armed with a strong foundation in full-stack software development, Jiadong is proficient in a range of technologies, including Django, React, and Node.js. During his time at CMU, he played a pivotal role in a team dedicated to crafting a gamification platform tailored to gather valuable feedback from both students and professors during presentations. While a member of the One Community team, Jiadong contributed his skills and passion to the development of the Highest Good Network software project.
Jiarong Li – Full Stack Software Engineer: Jiarong is dedicated to developing reliable software solutions. With nearly two years of full-stack development experience, she is adept at collaborating with others to complete ambiguous tasks. Jiarong has experience in frameworks such as React, Node.js, Express.js, and Spring Boot, and databases like MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis. While a member of the One Community team, Jiarong refactored code to improve efficiency and security and developed new full-stack features for user editing components in the Highest Good Network software.
Jiangwei Shi – Full Stack Engineer: Jiangwei is a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with extensive internship experience and proficient in cutting-edge technologies such as React, Node.js, and MongoDB. He has an ability to rapidly grasp new information and seamlessly integrate it into his work, thrives on tackling fresh challenges, and enjoys mastering new concepts. While a member of the One Community team, Jiangwei worked on the open source Highest Good Network software, where he applied his skills toward the Tasks Tab time log format to the individual timelogs, and crafted new features.
Jianjun Luo – Software Engineer: Jianjun has over 7 years of data mining and data analytics experience. She has also worked on a few projects that provide practical solutions for real life with her frontend and backend skills. She believes that with the development in technology and the convenience brought by the internet, people are empowered to make progressive social impact and able to fulfill their potential more easily. While a member of the One Community team, Jianjun helped develop the software for the open source Highest Good Network project that tracks time and materials.
Jiayu Liang – Landscape designer: Jiayu has over 8 years of design-professional training across multi-scale and various design types. She earned her Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture + Urbanism from the University of Southern California, with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Art Design. Last summer she went to Tbilisi, Georgia, and was responsible for an entrance and parking-lot grading design in the Veli project. Jiayu is self-motivated, strong-minded, and a goal-oriented challenger. She believes that landscape design not only creates beautiful environments balancing people and wild-life habitats, but also digs the deepest cultural roots. While a member of the One Community team, Jiayu helped with the Aquapini/Walipini greenhouse structures interior and exterior landscape design and visualizations.
Jim Zhang – Financial Risk Management Professional: Jim has recently graduated from Columbia University for his Master of Science degree in Enterprise Risk Management. Throughout his past internships in consulting and data science, he has demonstrated success working with complex tasks in a dynamic environment by applying effective problem-solving and research skills. He believes in the importance of sustainability to encourage everyone to participate in creating a more sustainable and efficient society that benefits both current and future generations. As a member of the One Community team, Jim has helped with weekly progress updates on the One Community Updates Blog, past blogs SEO optimization, and developing a detailed cost analysis for the electrical component of the Earthbag Village.
Jiming Chen – Designer and Aspiring Architect and Fabricator: Jiming Chen finished a 5-year architecture major and received a Bachelor of Engineering with distinction and excellent academic standing from Guangxi University in China. He gained professional practice experience at ADEPT, in Guangzhou, where he participated in the Hengyang City Design International Competition and was awarded 1st prize. He received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, where he participated in multiple experimental seminars and design studios. His works range from materials study, architectural representation, graphic design, digital fabrication, residential innovation, to world-making and utopian project design. He is passionate about exploring the mediation between imagination and physical environment with spatial narrative and materials of varied forms. While a One Community Volunteer, Jiming helped evolve the sustainable Tree House Village designs and visualizations.
Jin Hua – Internet Marketing Expert, Entrepreneur, and Web Developer: Introduced to the world of work at the age of 7, Jin worked at his family’s restaurant where he witnessed his parents working 14-hour days, 6 days a week, and realized that something was missing with the traditional “go to college, get a good job, raise a family” paradigm. In 9th grade Jin started his own business selling Chinese food and Candy, at the age of 17 he had an eBay business, and by the time he was 18 he started his own Internet Marketing Business. Through the years, he has taught himself website development, search engine optimization, video production, audio production, animation, and graphic design but his real passion is exploring ways to forward positive world change. As a One Community Consultant Jin is helping with all aspects of the One Community marketing plan, graphic design, and web design. He is also responsible for the bulk of the 3-D graphic design of the Duplicable City Center.
Jin Yu – Structural Engineering Designer: Jin has her M.S. in Structural Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison and her B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Jilin University. During her graduate research project, she worked closely with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on the analysis and retrofit of existing complex steel bridges using finite-element-modeling techniques. After graduation, she acquired solid industrial experience both in the states and overseas on the design of mix-use high-rise reinforced concrete structures. During her 5 years of practice, she became an high-intermediate user of many structural engineering and plotting softwares including but not limited to: ETABS, SAP2000, CSiBridge, spColumns, MathCad, Revit, AutoCad, Abaques, etc. She is an Engineer-In-Training since 2014 and is looking forward to getting her Professional Engineer license in 2017/2018. Currently looking for an entry-level structural engineer opportunity, Jin seeks broad responsibilities in steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete, and/or wood design of buildings and bridges. Jin’s contribution to One Community was initial Duplicable City Center underground foundation/basement structural design calculations and the related open source tutorial.
Jinchao Feng – Software Engineer: Jinchao holds a master’s degree in Computer Science, has experience in Full-Stack development, and is skilled in multiple programming languages and frameworks. He loves coding and delivering solid work and improvements while further developing his skills. Contributing to an open source project that makes the world a better and more beautiful place is even more rewarding, which is what he did as a member of the One Community team where he helped develop the open source Highest Good Network application.
Jingyi Jia ” Software Engineer: Jingyi is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree at the University of Washington, where she specializes in software development. Jingyi is dedicated to applying her technical skills to create impactful solutions. Her expertise spans several programming languages and technologies, including JavaScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB. She is also proficient in version control with Git. At One Community, Jingyi is helping develop the Highest Good Network software by producing user profile components and management permissions, streamlining processes and enhancing the usability of the platform.
Jingwei Jiang – Landscape designer: Jingwei is from Chengdu, China. She achieved her Bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture (BLA) from University of Washington on June 10, 2018. Soon after graduation Jingwei completed internships in China and received an offer from the Architecture School of University of Virginia. In 2020, she finished her education and graduated with her Master degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA) and Urban Design Certificate (UDC). While a member of the One Community team, Jingwei helped with the landscaping plan for the Earthbag Village.
Jinxi Feng – Environmental Consultant ” Jinxi has a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University and a B.S in Physics from Peking University, China. Her passion for renewable energy and sustainability development dates back to a trip to Tibet where she was shocked by the contrast of nature and an industrialized city, setting her on a career path of engineering the world towards its sustainable future. Jinxi specializes in energy modeling and quantitative analysis (Stata, R) and enjoys applying these skills to various renewable energy projects. While a member of the One Community team, Jinxi led the research into an open source tutorial for choosing the most sustainable laundry options and helped to develop her work and research as a template for similar detailed tutorials.
Jinxiong You – Software Engineer: With a robust background in software engineering, Jinxiong has accumulated over 2 years of experience in designing and developing software solutions. Specializing in backend systems and data architecture, he has excelled in environments demanding rigorous structure and problem-solving skills. Jinxiong is passionate about creating scalable and efficient software that not only meets the immediate needs of clients but also anticipates future growth and challenges. As a member of the One Community team, he has been instrumental in architecting resilient software infrastructures and optimizing the Highest Good Network systems to enhance performance and reliability. Jinxiong also plays a critical role in maintaining high code quality standards by conducting thorough peer reviews and ensuring best practices in code development across his team.
Jiyuan Xia – Software Engineer: Jiyuan completed a master’s degree in computer science, specializing in web development and full-stack technologies. He actively contributed to the One Community Highest Good Network software team by assisting in the review of numerous pull requests and addressing system bugs, showcasing his dedication to delivering robust and high-quality software solutions. Jiyuan was instrumental in enhancing system stability and improving code quality, making a positive impact on the team’s software development efforts.
