New-Paradigm Philanthropy – One Community Weekly Progress Update #101

We see new-paradigm philanthropy as philanthropy that meets the needs of the world while also meeting the needs of the individual. More specifically, combining sustainable food, energy, housing, education, economics, fulfilled living, and earth stewardship practices into open source sustainable and fulfilled living environments. These environments will better meet the needs of the individual while also helping creating a better planet and helping others to live this way too. We call this living and creating for The Highest Good of All:

One Community’s physical location will forward this movement as the first of many self-replicating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built around the world looking to implement new-paradigm philanthropy. • Finished first 15% of Technology and Innovation Molecule graphic (see below)
• Behind the scenes: finished brainstorming blue circles of the Innovation Half of this molecule
• Added the huge video resource section to the Science Molecule page (see below)
• Added our first complete lesson plan example to the Lesson Plans How-to tutorial page (now 65% complete – see below)

• Continued laying out the specifics for the Open Source Murphy bed furniture assembly details (25% complete – see below)
• Behind the scenes: finished another 10% of the earthdome window and door framing reformatting (35% complete)
• Created two layouts for the bathroom and kitchenette design for the 150′ diameter dome for the upcoming crowdfunding campaign (see below)
• Samuel Soroaster created next design evolution for updating 2 of the 4 toilet domes in the Earthbag Village (see below)
• Scott Thomas and his Shadow Ridge Signature Architecture Program team finished putting a concept design into CAD for the upcoming crowdfunding campaign studio dome (see below) and completed design for 200 square foot bathroom dome (see below)
• Douglas Simms Stenhouse produced conceptual drawings for Pod 3 that will be cob and rammed earth (see below)

NEW-PARADIGM PHILANTHROPY: HIGHEST GOOD EDUCATION PROGRESS

One Community is forwarding new-paradigm philanthropy through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:

This last week the core team finished the first 15% of the Technology and Innovation Molecule graphic an important part of the new-paradigm philanthropy, which you can see here:

Behind the scenes we also finished brainstorming the blue circles of the Innovation Half of this molecule.

We also added the huge video resource section you see here to the Science Molecule page covering the complete subject of science:

Last but not least, we added our first complete lesson plan example to the Lesson Plans How-to tutorial page. You can see this here, individualized as an example for a young learner that loves and is strong in Math and English, challenged in Social Sciences, and average in all other subjects. This brings the Lesson Plans How-to page to about 65% complete.

Also, with the help of Sandra Sellani (Vegan Chef and author of What’s Your BQ?), we created this initial template and tutorial for all the recipes we’ll be adding to the Food Self-sufficiency Transition Plan page.

NEW-PARADIGM PHILANTHROPY: HIGHEST GOOD HOUSING PROGRESS

One Community is forwarding new-paradigm philanthropy through Â Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:

This last week the core team continued laying out the specifics for the Open Source Murphy bed furniture assembly details. Specifically instructions for cutting lumber and labeling for wall front sections and assembling the wall frame. You can see this behind-the-scenes work-in-progress here. We estimate we are now 25% complete with what is needed for the website.

Also behind the scenes we finished another 10% of the earthdome window and door framing reformatting details needed before moving these specifics to the website. This brings us to 35% complete with this work.

We additionally created two layouts and decided on this second one for the bathroom and kitchenette design for the 150′ diameter dome for the upcoming crowdfunding campaign.

In addition to this, Samuel Soroaster (Permaculturalist and sustainable designer from Green New World), created this next evolution for updating 2 of the 4 toilet domes promoting new-paradigm philanthropy in the Earthbag Village. This updated design still incorporates increased water collection and reuse of greywater to flush the toilets. In addition to this though, it now uses space more efficiently while allowing all bathrooms to be ADA compliant.

Scott Thomas and his Shadow Ridge Signature Architecture Program team also finished putting this concept design into CAD for the upcoming crowdfunding campaign studio dome.

Douglas Simms Stenhouse (Architect and Water Color Artist) also produced these conceptual drawings for Pod 3 that will be cob and rammed earth. These designs feature 6 living spaces that share a common social area, bathrooms, and kitchen. They also feature maximization of passive solar, a central fireplace, and designs for construction on a slope.

NEW-PARADIGM PHILANTHROPY: DUPLICABLE CITY CENTER PROGRESS

One Community is forwarding new-paradigm philanthropy through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:

This last week the core team completed the second 50% of the thermostatic shower valve and heat lamp energy and water savings calculations implementing new-paradigm philanthropy. Here is a picture of this work completed behind the scenes before we format it for the website. What you see here will be used for both the Duplicable City Center and the Earthbag Village.

One Community is forwarding new-paradigm philanthropy through a Highest Good society approach to living that is founded on fulfilled living, the study of meeting human needs, Community, and making a difference in the world:

This last week the core team created new social media imagery and updated and featured our Highest Good Housing overview page that outlines the 7 different village models we will build based on new-paradigm philanthropy. We also did this for our Love and Connection as a core value page sharing how we use this value in our decision making process and strategy for global change promoting a new-paradigm philanthropy.

We also added a collection of over 50 different do-it-yourself Highest Good living resources promoting new-paradigm philanthropy to the Highest Good lifestyle considerations page. These new resources cover everything from DIY baby wipes, to household cleaners, how to make your own makeup, butter, salad dressing, syrup and more.

WHY ONE COMMUNITY IS CREATING THIS

The One Community self-replicating model is capable of creating a sustainable planet incorporating new-paradigm philanthropy within 30 years. We will achieve this by establishing successful teacher/demonstration hubs on every continent. Villages include designs appropriate for each of the five main types of climates. They also include options for even the most challenged economies. These hubs will collaborate with one another, share ideas, resources, and work together as a network to heal the planet. They will also transform the global lifestyle to a more enjoyable, fulfilling, healthy, and sustainable one.

Even if we don’t achieve our ultimate goal of global transformation, a self-replicating teacher/demonstration model like this will take a relatively short period of time to positively affect millions through new-paradigm philanthropy while inspiring millions more.  For One Community residents (the Pioneer Team), the idea of creating and sharing the social and recreational experience with visitors is also fun, exciting, fulfilling, and an additional reason why we are creating this.

WHAT ONE COMMUNITY IS CREATING

One Community is creating a place to grow together and change the world together. We are creating a space that helps each other live in integrity with each other and the planet as we strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves through new-paradigm philanthropy. We do this by harmoniously respecting each other, nature, and the rest of our one shared planet.

Our goal is to demonstrate what we feel is the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment we can create. A place based on compassion, kindness, and collaboration. This replicable community will serve as an example for what is possible.

Throughout our design process we are open sourcing and free-sharing everything needed for construction and replication. This includes what we call “Highest Good” approaches to food, energy, housing, education, for-profit and non-profit economics design, social architecture, fulfilled living, stewardship practices and more promoting a new-paradigm philanthropy. We are creating these resources for implementation as individual components or complete developments called teacher/demonstration hubs. These hubs will help launch additional hubs as awareness and knowledge grow.
