This week, Loza Ayehutsega (Civil Engineer/Assistant Civil Engineer) helped with assisting with Earth Dam Design and construction for the Water Retention, Pond, and Lake Creation tutorial. Loza reviewed the reference materials pertaining to Dam inspection guidelines and inspection methodologies.
In the process, comments from the report were examined, with particular attention to areas that remain under review. An illustrative instance of this ongoing review pertains to the visual inspection of dams, as well as the adherence to requisite safety guidelines and inspection procedures, a critical endeavor aimed at safeguarding the integrity and stability of dams.

Shengguang Jin (Mechanical Engineer) continued helping with the Vermiculture Toilet designs for the Earthbag Village. Shengguang assembled a flashlight comprising individual components, which included the lens, lens cap, battery, battery cap, housing, and a switch.
The comprehensive review encompassed an evaluation of features such as circular patterns, splines, mold tools, silhouette edges, mirror entities, and menus. Additionally, he conducted a brief search to identify the most suitable device for layer-wise separation of the aforementioned components within the empty chamber. One Community is forwarding sustainable world building through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:
This week, Amiti Singh (Architectural Designer) continued her work by helping with the interior design details for the rental rooms within the Duplicable City Center. Amiti made significant progress in developing the Japanese tea room-themed visitor room. She completed the 3D visual representation for the second room option, drawing inspiration from the serene ambiance of a traditional Japanese tea room.
Her contributions were highlighted in material selection, furniture design, color coordination, and paint palette curation for this room. Additionally, Amiti initiated the initial cost analysis for the new option. See below for the collage of images related to this.
Charles Gooley (Web Designer) completed another week of assisting with web design. This week, Charles focused on in-depth research and content development related to Water Harvesting, Catchment, and Water Conservation.
His work encompassed various areas, including roof washers, pumps & pressure tanks, gutter sizing, supplying make-up water, connecting multiple tanks, material suppliers, and products, which were enriched with relevant product images and prices.
Furthermore, Charles compiled data on the demand and supply of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems, explored filtration and disinfection systems along with corresponding product images and prices, and delved into potable water treatment systems, disinfection methods, potable water reuse, wastewater treatment processes, and large water storage capacity solutions.
He also added approximately sixty new resources to the resources section. The pictures below offer a visual representation of this work.
This week, the engineering summary was managed by Arvindh Xavier (Civil Engineer), combining the contributions of team members Julio Marín Bustillos (Mechanical Engineer), Justin Varghese (Mechanical Engineer), and Yiwei He (Mechanical Engineer). The team made significant progress on various aspects of the project.
Arvindh focused on creating a job advertisement to fill positions for an Architect and MEP drafter, with a primary responsibility to contribute to the development and organization of Architectural and MEP drawing sets.
Concurrently, Justin worked on designing and assembling connector hubs for the 9th, 8th, and 7th rows, closely following guidance from the Senior Engineer and incorporating recommendations to ensure the hub designs featured a U-V shape and avoided sharp bends, primarily focusing on assessing the structural performance of these connector hubs in terms of maximum displacements under varying loading conditions.
In parallel, Julio’s attention was on designing and placing hub connectors for the second row, notable for its symmetry, allowing a consistent hub connector design for the entire row, and reducing time investment. Meanwhile, Yiwei conducted research on light bulbs, generating rankings for each metric, followed by a meeting with Jae to facilitate the task’s transition to the next researcher.
Subsequently, Yiwei joined the new mechanical design group, dedicating time to reviewing prior materials and management directives. See the pictures below.

This component of One Community is about 95% complete with only the Open Source School Licensing and Ultimate Classroom construction and assembly details remaining to be finished.
With over 8 years of work invested in the process, the sections below are all complete until we move onto the property and continue the development and open sourcing process with teachers and students – a development process that is built directly into the structure of the education program and everything else we’re creating too:
This week, Brian Muigai Mwaniki (Structural Engineer) completed work helping with The Ultimate Classroom. Brian completed the finalization of details for the Ultimate Classroom and efficiently shared the corresponding files through Dropbox.
This initiative was taken in anticipation of the forthcoming collaboration with an intern team, tasked with verifying that all aspects align with the required US standards. See below for pictures related to this work.

This week, the core team completed 57 hours managing One Community volunteer-work review not included above, emails, social media accounts, web development, new bug identification and bug-fix integration for the Highest Good Network software, and interviewing and getting set up new volunteer team members. The pictures below show some of this work.
Another core team member helped conduct HGN PRs testing, focusing on several key areas. This week, we re-checked the scenario in which a user does not belong to any team, confirming that users with the Administrator or Assistant Manager role are unable to view their own tasks in this context.
Then, she re-evaluated permissions for different Admin accounts, with an emphasis on WBS-related permissions, finding that despite having permissions for “See Project Management Tab (Add team members, upload new WBSs only)” and “Add WBS,” there was no ability to add WBS. After, we tested PR, which pertains to the capacity of Admin and Owner roles to update the total number of valid Weekly Summaries.
However, she noted that part d. of this PR has not been implemented due to a lack of permission for this function on the Permission Management page. Next, we reported her inability to test PR#1081 because the “Schedule Blue Square Reason” button was disabled for Owner/Admin accounts.
Lastly, she raised issues with PR#1123, highlighting incorrect dates of modification for multiple badges. Additionally, we confirmed the successful resolution of the two PRs. See the image below to view this work.
And another core team member performed edits and reviews of the Food Infrastructure Rollout doc regarding the 3, 20, and 50-person property arrivals. He also began a new assignment of reviewing four hours of Paul Wheaton podcasts and nine hours of Eckhart Tolle podcasts. View this work in the collage below.
Harsha Kulkarni (Data Analyst) continued working on One Community’s Google AdWords campaigns and Analytics details. This week, Harsha worked on enhancing the effectiveness of various ad campaigns. Her focus was on optimizing the ads by incorporating more relevant headlines and descriptions, aligning them closely with the respective ad content, and implementing other recommended adjustments within the account.
Additionally, she managed the campaigns by removing unapproved ads and strategically reducing the budget for specific ads to ensure efficient resource allocation and campaign performance. The image below shows some of this work.
Smit Bhoir (Data and Business Analyst) helped with administrative tasks and One Community’s Google AdWords campaigns and Analytics details. This week, Smit reviewed Shaurya’s PR teamwork and provided feedback. He also updated the WordPress blog post for blog #551. Smit spent time studying the AdWords dashboard and attended a weekly meeting with Harsha to discuss the Google Analytics work timeline.
He improved the strength of certain ads in the volunteer’s ad campaign, moving them from poor to excellent. This effort to boost ad strength continued, and Smit also researched methods for improving ads. He collaborated with Harsha on creating a timeline and offering suggestions for enhancing Google AdWords.
The week wrapped up with Smit completing a final review of the Google Ads timeline to ensure tasks were on track and efficient. You can view the collage below to see this work.
Vishvesh Sheora (Artificial Intelligence Specialist) focused on elevating the SEO performance of a multitude of blog posts featured on the One Community website. This week, Vishvesh further enhanced the SEO performance of articles. He pursued the goal of elevating their SEO scores by applying the criteria set forth by RankMath, a prominent SEO plugin.
Additionally, Vishvesh enriched the tutorial draft, providing comprehensive guidance on leveraging RankMath for optimal SEO. He curated content, integrated RankMath’s tools, and deepened his understanding of the plugin to solidify his expertise in this domain. See the work in the image below.
This week, the Administration Team’s summary, covering their work administrating and managing most of One Community, was managed by Jamie Cruz (Administrative Assistant, Social Media Manager, and Team Manager) and includes Alyx Parr (Senior Support Specialist), Olawunmi “Ola” Ijisesan (Administrative and Management Support), Ruiqi Liu (Administrative Assistant), Shaurya Sareen (Administrative Assistant), and Xiaolai Li (Administrative Assistant).
Alyx summarized and provided comments on Google Docs for the blog, contributing to its content by downloading images and duplicating summaries. She took responsibility for preparing summaries and downloading media for the blog, collaborating with relevant individuals to ensure seamless progress.
Furthermore, Alyx addressed issues with summaries on the blog. Jamie, in her new role as a social media manager, established her presence on Facebook and Twitter. She also re-recorded a tutorial video on completing questionnaires for the administrative team and efficiently managed both her team and the administration team.
Ola completed a tutorial for a new review process, rectified errors, and smoothly transferred the live blog for accurate adjustments. She provided guidance and feedback to trainees to improve their work quality. Ruiqi conducted a thorough review of multiple teams, offering valuable feedback to team members and managing media content.
She optimized SEO by generating Alt Titles from weekly summaries and reviewed progress updates and webpage content, ensuring accuracy. Shaurya did a comprehensive reviews of pull requests (PRs), addressing issues with team members’ work and ensuring essential elements were included. He managed tracking sheets, and onboarding of new team members, and created team summaries and collages.
Xiaolai worked on training processes, including creating team summaries and image collages for each team member, optimizing webpage elements, and addressing errors. He incorporated SEO keywords from weekly summaries as Alt Titles on WordPress and efficiently organized content for various teams, ensuring timely delivery and organization.

This week, the Blue Steel Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Nathan Hoffman (Software Engineer) and includes Haohui Lin (Software Engineer), Kurtis Ivey (Full Stack Developer), Lucile Tronczyk (Full Stack Software Developer), Shree Birajdar (Software Developer), Xiao Wang (Software Engineer), Yongjian Pan (React.js/MongoDB Full Stack Software Developer), and Yubo Sun (Full Stack Software Developer and Team Manager).
Xiao made progress in implementing a new timer component, focusing on core features such as adding time, removing time, setting time, starting, pausing, and stopping the timer. He refactored the backend to synchronize with the frontend and integrated minor UI enhancements into the timer component.
Shree made the Blue Square reason scheduler accessible to all users and also incorporating extra features like sending emails when updating the reason. Kurtis conducted a comprehensive review of various PRs, addressing issues, providing feedback, and ensuring standards were met.
The individual proactively addressed NPM test errors in PR #1331 and PR #842, communicating effectively to ensure the smooth progression of projects. Lucile dedicated time to unit testing, focusing on Reports and People Reports using Jest. Yubo resolved issues in PR #1416, addressing the missing popup warning in the EditLinkModal component, and planned to review backend PR #572 and complete unit testing.
Yongjian addressed several npm test errors associated with two pull requests, namely PR #1331 and PR #842. Haohui focused on familiarizing himself with the app’s features and conducting thorough reviews of pull requests, particularly Frontend PR#1000, 1183, 1396, 1389, and 1185, submitted by team members.
Nathan reviewed pull requests, addressing merge conflicts, and contributing to organizing and simplifying the permissions structure. They also assisted in troubleshooting, collaborated on permissions setup, and provided valuable suggestions for improving the system. The collage below shows some of this work.
This week, the Expressers Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Tim Kent (Full Stack Software Engineer) and includes Aaron Persaud (Software Developer), Aishwarya Kalkundrikar (Full Stack Software Developer), Gary Balogh (Software Engineer), Olga Yudkin (Software Engineer), Tianyuan Nan (Software Engineer), Vishala Ramasamy (Software Developer) and Yuri Clemente Andrade Sokolovicz (Software Engineer and Team Manager).
Aishwarya reviewed Olga’s code for Project Details and related files, initiating work on connecting the frontend and backend by creating a file to manage HTTP requests. Yuri finalized the new navbar, preparing it for inclusion in the last pull request, and initiated PR#1396 for the phase 2 navigation bar.
Gary focused on enhancing the Add Materials Form, introducing dynamic data population, purchase record saving, and item type creation. Vishala conducted a PR review, addressed a Phase 1 bug, implemented a hotfix, and started work on a Phase 2 task. Tianyuan completed five PR reviews, resolved Eslint issues, and submitted PR #1407, while Olga tackled branch merging and addressed styling and testing issues.
Aaron contributed by resolving PR1061, troubleshooting main branch issues, and creating a hotfix for PR merges. The team collectively made strides in frontend and backend development, testing, and issue resolution, advancing the project’s progress. The collage below shows some of this work.
This week, the Funding Team’s summary, covering their work for One Community Funding, was managed by Aaron Wang (Fundraising Assistant). Aaron engaged in follow-up communication with multiple prospective funders who had received emails in recent weeks.
Additionally, research was conducted on six potential funders, encompassing an assessment of their backgrounds, philosophy, funding track records, potential to secure funds, and contact information. These activities actively support the continuous pursuit of funding opportunities for the organization. The collage below shows some of his work.
This week, the Graphic Design’s summary was managed by Alyx Parr (Senior Support Specialist and Manager) and includes Ashlesha Navale (Graphic Designer), Nancy Mónchez (Graphic Designer), Shivangi Patel (Graphic Designer), Yeasin Arafat (Civil Engineer, Graphic Designer).
Ashlesha researched and curated a collection of nature-based background images and different theme-based images for creating Social Media Images, and created web content for 2 volunteer bios. Nancy, focused on the redesign of multiple social media posts, employing various graphic style methods including drawing inspiration, conducting research, and examining mockups, styles, forms, and current trends.
The primary objective was to convey internal information through inspirational phrases while giving the “One Community” a fresh style. Additionally, misspelled words were corrected, and shadow intensity was adjusted. Shivangi had a diverse range of tasks, crafting two volunteer announcements that included creating a biography image, an announcement image, and web content.
She also collaborated with fellow graphic designers to develop web page designs for the Open Source Menu Build Out Tool and designed custom social media posts tailored for Facebook. Meanwhile, Yeasin effectively utilized his graphic design expertise to generate a series of original ideas for weekly blog images covering various topics.
These images were prepared in sets of three, including one without words and versions sized for YouTube and Facebook platforms, covering future blog numbers 787, 788, 789, 790, 791, and 792. The pictures below exemplify this work.
This week, Moonfall Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Navneeth Krishna (Software Engineer) and includes Abdelmounaim “Abdel” Lallouache (Software Developer), Anny Wang (Software Engineer), Cheng-Yun Chuang (Software Engineer), Jiadong Zhang (Volunteer Software Engineer), Tzu Ning “Leo” Chueh (Software Engineer), Xiao Fei (Software Engineer), YuFu Liao (Software Engineer), Zijie “Cyril” Yu (Volunteer Software Engineer), and Zubing Guo (Software Engineer).
Anny addressed the issue of naming the team for the current week, optimized performance to handle excessive data, and ensured accurate team information presentation. Cheng-Yun reviewed 12 pull requests across frontend and backend repositories, paying particular attention to frontend pull requests and backend issues.
Jiadong contributed to the ongoing project of refactoring the time log component, enhancing the user experience, and optimizing entry generator functions. Navneeth worked on implementing new permission, also taking on a task involving weekly summaries’ email links. He engaged in various pull requests, contributing to comprehensive testing, UI enhancements, and permissions management.
Tzu Ning focused on testing and enhancing the functionality of reset and update password procedures, introducing an eye icon for password visibility. Xiao addressed the task of vertically aligning labels in a team code filter dropdown, delving into the codebase and employing an innovative font-based solution.
Zijie demonstrated commitment and expertise by finishing the lint-fixing task, promptly addressing identified bugs and providing detailed responses to queries. Zubing integrated the ‘Write it for me’ button into the summary page, restructuring frontend code, and surmounting challenges to ensure successful outcomes.

This week, Reactonauts’ Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Carl Bebl (Software Developer) and includes Anirudh Ghildiyal (Software Engineer), Eduardo Horta (Software Engineer and Team Manager), Jiyuan Xia (Software Engineer), Shihao Xiong (Software Engineer), Shiwani Rajagopalan (Software Engineer), Shrey Jain (Software Engineer) and Vikram Badhan (Software Engineer).
Carl led efforts to refactor the pull request initiated by Papia for team-based task filtering, investigating and rectifying a blank screen issue, and actively participating in peer reviews, including issues #1384, #1386, #1389, #1396, #1397, and #1398. Eduardo participated in code reviews, organized the weekly meeting, and contributed to the review of Reactonauts Team Members’ Weekly Work.
Shiwani addressed time log entry issues for other users, resolved missing badge icons, and tackled lint errors in the OwnerMessage component, submitting PRs #1411 and #1412. Jiyuan made significant progress on the assignment badges function bug and conducted ten PR reviews, while Shihao approved four pull requests and prepared for an upcoming unit test.
Vikram set up local frontend and backend environments, reviewed 5 pull requests, fixed a bug in the HGN application, and implemented a scheduled badge assignment system. Anirudh resolved a badge component bug and improved the summary task’s edit button functionality. Shrey worked on filtering active members in the project section, debugging, and finalizing the task.

This week, Skye’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Luis Arevalo (Front End Developer) and includes Bailey Mejia (Software Engineer), Jerry Ren (Full Stack Developer), Roberto Contreras (Software Developer and Yao Wang (Software Engineer).
Jerry first addressed the Hotfix Zero Hours issue, modified putUserProfile() to update the user profile’s weeklyCommittedHours and investigated the potential cause in getPromisedHours. Jerry provided support to Shiwani in resolving changes to her remote branch and revised the Permissions Change Logs Table while eliminating unnecessary console logs.
Yao focused on addressing the bug related to the “submit for review” button not displaying, conducted a thorough examination of pull requests (PRs), and engaged in discussions to find solutions. Roberto integrated a sending email function for notifications to Jae regarding owner account establishment and password resets.
He reviewed the HGN documentation, configured OAuth credentials, and implemented environment variables. Bailey addressed the new personal max duplication bug, refactoring code related to the checkPersonalMax functionality that had not been fully implemented.
He also reviewed a team member’s PR on backend email verification for owner accounts, which received over 8 approvals, eventually approving the changes for merging into the main branch.
