This page is a free-shared lesson plan archive for teaching all educational subjects within the context and theme of “Caring and Kindness”. It is purposed for use in community education environments, homeschool environments, traditional schooling environments, or as a supplemental and fun addition to any education program. As part of the complete Education for Life Program, this lesson plan is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the other components: Foundations of Teaching, Curriculum, Teaching Strategies, Learning Tools and Toys, Evaluation Model, and The Ultimate Classroom. A NOTE ABOUT ALL ONE COMMUNITY LESSON PLANS
The One Community lesson plans are intentionally designed for use in ANY educational environment and with ALL educational, cultural, religious/spiritual, and philosophical approaches to teaching and learning. They are designed without an ideological approach and specifically so they can be adapted to include the views, preferences, methodologies, and/or ideologies preferred by different parents and teachers.
For maximum flexibility and adaptation, they are also designed to be combined to teach multiple subjects at the same time. Doing this increases the creativity, effectiveness, and fun of your learning environment. Once we are on the property and operating our version of the complete school and Education for Life program, we will be adding video examples of how to combine the lessons. ARTS AND TRADES

TEACHING ARTS AND TRADES WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF CARING AND KINDNESS

|
The Arts
- Create an image* that demonstrates what you think caring looks or feels like.
- Make up a dance* that shows the meaning of caring for another. Demonstrate* your dance for some people you care about.
- Create an artistic project* that conveys your ideas on caring for others. Display* your project in a community area.
- Create a painting* that shows love and connection in an abstract way. Hang your picture in a location that people go to for connection.
- Write a song* about what caring is using metaphors and images in the lyrics. Perform the song for your community in a way that nurtures more caring in that community.*
- Put together a portfolio* of pictures of famous art pieces that convey caring. Use this as inspiration to make a creative and unique display* in your community gathering area with your comments relating each area of the display to caring. Place a blank book next to the portfolio for people to record their responses to the art.
- Hold a fundraising performance or exhibition* for someone in need. Demonstrate the caring involved in this philanthropy by free sharing the event on the internet and showcasing* how your project was an act of caring and the results of the caring and kindness.

Trades
- Using clay*, create an emblem or something useful that represents your idea about what it looks or feels like to show or receive caring or kindness.
- Talk with people in 3 different trades about how caring or kindness is important in the workplace and share* what you learned with at least 3 other people.
- Investigate at least 3 trades in your community. Look for how the people involved demonstrate caring while working at their trade. Create a list* and explanation of loving traits you witness and post* this list in several workplaces around your community that you believe will benefit from this.
- Ponder the idea of cooks and caring. Write a questionnaire* about how cooks put love and connection into the meals they prepare. Distribute it to at least 5 cooks and tally the results, and include a short essay* of the final results.
- Identify 20 characteristics caring teachers display. Mindfully practice these characteristics to show love and connection while teaching* something you are good at to a group of people. When your course is over, have the participants fill out an evaluation of the course that includes how they felt receiving the lesson, specifically asking questions related to each of the 20 caring characteristics.
- Choose a trade from the indigo section of the molecule and visit several locations that do that type of work. Observe at least 5 professionals in action, and write an article* for an appropriately related publication, about the love and connection you witness.
- Define how caring for others is relevant in a trade of your choice. Write a template and lead a workshop* to professionals in that field on how to commit specific acts that reflect love and connection while engaged in the trade. Include the amount of effort/ time/ resources it would take them to implement as well as the projected impacts, based on research you do.

TEACHING ENGLISH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF CARING AND KINDNESS
|
|
- Make up a story that has characters who care about each other. Tell your story* to someone you care about.
- Create your own caring/kindness book* that shows how you show caring/kindness to your friends, your family, and to your community.
- Present a 3 to 5 minute oral presentation* to a group of 2 to 3 people about what it means to care for someone or something.
- Read 5 articles* on the subject of love and connection and write a 1 to 2 page paper* how these articles relate to caring for another through those actions.
- Conduct an analysis and write a smmary of the analysis, on a grade level appropriate fiction book with a story line about caring for others.
- Write a nonfiction story* about a life experience you have had relating a time you felt cared for by someone.
- Present a Ted Talk style lecture and screening* in your community about the subject of caring for another. After the video give a high level analysis and evaluation of this oral media to the audience.
- Write a college level lesson plan* about the many facets of caring and kindness. Offer a weekend seminar* and open source your materials.

HEALTH

TEACHING HEALTH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF CARING AND KINDNESS

- Talk* to your family members about spiritual health and how they feel caring ties in with that.
- Observe how people in your community show their awareness of the emotions/states and needs of others. Make a list of at least 5 things* you saw and practice them on your loved ones.
- Read at least 5 books on our human connection to all things including, the earth, animals, plants and each other. Make a mind map* of ways we are connected and ways humans can care for each.
- Demonstrate caring for your physical health by keeping a daily journal* of the food you eat and the exercise you do for a week. At the end of the week write a 3 page reflection* on your habits and how they relate to caring for your health.
- Find a conflict management program that is based on caring. Create a “cheat sheet”* of the ideas in this program and distribute them to your peers. Have your peers give you verbal feedback regarding the use of your caring “cheat sheets”. Compile the feedback and make any revisions needed, and distribute the finished product online* and to any place that would be beneficial in your community.
- Write a self help manual* on how to provide self care while training hard physically and care for others even while competing. Distribute this to several athletes and have them give you feedback about how the self help program worked on them.
- Create an interactive program* that combines love and connection with emotional health. Lead a workshop in this program. Have participants rank their happiness level before and after they participate in the workshop. Compile the data for your project and open source share this so others may use it.

TEACHING MATH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF CARING AND KINDNESS

|
- Talk to 3 people* about why they care about time.
- With at least 2 other people, use pizza or a puzzle* or some other round object that can be broken in pieces to practice the concept of fractions in a loving and caring way.
- With an expert, analyze patterns and relationships and contemplate then discuss* the idea of caring within these mental activities.
- In an interactive workshop*, describe and teach about geometrical figures and the relationships between them using caring/kindness metaphors.
- Interpret linear models to document any connections between kindness/caring and other factors. Open share your research/opinion in a stop motion film* you create.
- Write a thesis* on the use of probability and caring in your community. Define if there are positive uses of probability in a loving environment and give examples. If you can’t find existing positive examples, try and create* your own positive uses of probability in your community and free share these ideas.
- Create a pamphlet* on why humanity benefits by caring about numbers and math. Distribute the pamphlets to education environments and start conversations with the students who read your pamphlets about what they personally think.

TEACHING SCIENCE WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF CARING AND KINDNESS

|
Life Sciences
- Talk* with a mentor about plants and things that plants might care about.
- Read or be read a story* about the stages of life. Think about and discuss whether or not you think it is relevant to care about other stages than the one you are at and why you think that.
- Make a chart* on food chains and webs. Include a section on your ideas of if and how caring about a food source affects this process of life and death within the web.
- Visit 4 places that care for natural resources. Create a cartoon* about how each location works and share with your community similarities and differences that you observe.
- Write a 3 to 5 page report* about how and why humans should take care of their eyes and 2 other body parts of your choice.
- Do humans need to care about gene mutation and change? Investigate and prepare a 5+ page research paper* on your opinion. Be sure you include facts to back up your ideas. Open source your paper.
- Write and create a 10 minute documentary* about results that have occurred during experiments in 3 to 4 of the fields of the life science molecule, that show examples of times when the scientists were careless with their work. Include a section on how the results might have been different if the scientist had taken more care.

Physical Sciences
- Discuss with an expert* what the effects are with human care and/or no care of materials.
- Draw a picture* that shows the pros and cons of caring about electricity. Show the benefits and the issues electricity can give humans.
- In a reference book, find an experiment that demonstrates the consequences of not caring about heat. Write 2 to 3 paragraphs* explaining what you read.
- Find 5 articles that report examples on why humans should care about gravity. Write and free share a review essay* about what you read.
- Conduct an experiment on acids and bases. Write a report* on your finding that includes a section on what if’s that might have occurred if you were careless when you did your experiment. Open source your report.
- Perform an investigation on reaction time. Look at several populations who use reaction time in their lives and develop an improvement plan* based on the impact caring about their reaction time can possibly have to their lives. Have 5 different individuals implement your ideas and then free share their results.
- Choose a physical science subject from the science molecule. Write a succinct 4 page essay* about the reasons for taking care when studying this field. Give examples of past results that have occurred in the field when scientists did not take care. Open source your brief to people working in that field.

Earth Sciences
- Draw a picture* showing the effects of different weather and why humans care about what the weather will be.
- Discuss* with a mentor how the earth’s position creates seasons. Have the expert give you an explanation about why people care about this.
- Read 3 books or articles* on the rock cycle. Write a 2 to 3 page paper* about this cycle and include your opinion about if and why humans need to care about the rock cycle.
- Create a thesis* about whether or not humans need to care about cumulative effects of geological processes. Research on the internet other people’s thesis’ on the subject.
- Create a science fair type of presentation* about climate and climate change. Include a section on why humans should care about this and any possible effects climate change has on humanity. Display your project somewhere in your community for a week. Provide a space where people who visit your presentation can share their opinion on the subject with you. After you remove your display, share the opinions with the community.
- Create an electronically based presentation* on why humans care about global patterns of climate bands from wind patterns, ocean currents, and mountain ranges. Videotape your presentation that you give at your community and open source it on the web.*
- Design an experiment* in ecology that promotes care to the natural world by children. Conduct the experiment with several young populations then write a results paper about the children’s learning. Free share the paper online*.

- Discuss* with your family what it means to care for each other and the ways you all show your love to each other.
- Make a collage* that shows all the human needs you can think of related to caring.
- Create a list* of the rules you have at home. Next to each rule write down how you think that rule shows love and connection within your family members.
- Write a 3 to 5 page research paper* on stages and periods in cultural development and how the populations during those times demonstrated love and connection to others.
- Create a self assessment tool* that specifically looks at an individuals caring skills. Choose a sample of at least 10 people to fill out the tool and then get some feedback from the participants about what they learned.
- Choose an indigo bullet and do a research project* on how this field incorporates or ignores the value of caring in its structure. Open source your project.
- Create a 1 to 3 hour program* that teaches a group of people about ways to show caring for each other. Use information from a variety of global perspectives. Lead this program to different populations and record the reactions. Free share the program and your record of reactions.

Technology
- Use an app* that involves characters taking care of others, i.e. doctors, firemen, etc.
- Find and play a video or internet game* that teaches coding and has a theme of love and connection. Discuss with other players how playing a game that involved caring felt.
- Watch 3 movies* with caring as a theme and write a review that includes examples of caring in the movies, and how watching the movies made you feel.
- Create an app* that encourages the users of the app to be kind and caring people. Have test players tell you the experience they have while using the app.
- Choose at least 3 systems from the blue section and write a manual* on how to demonstrate caring while participating in these systems.
- Choose at least 5 people listed in the indigo bullets and create a video presentation* highlighting the individual’s contributions to humanity; and if and how these individuals involve the value of caring in their designs and developments. Free share the video on the internet.
- Investigate social media outlets and create a digital presentation* of ways the companies and/or individuals present empathy to the public. Present this in an open forum* and add suggestions or kudos to the appropriate groups for the ways they encourage or discourage caring in society.

Innovation
- Talk to 3 people* about strategies they use to demonstrate caring of others. Practice these strategies in your own life.*
- Use intrinsic awareness to figure out people and things you care about. Talk to someone* about what you discover.
- Create a picture* that represents your beliefs on caring.
- Write a 5 page paper* about values/needs hierarchies and where caring fits in these systems. Give specific examples about love and connection, honesty and integrity and diversity.
- Research a variety of governance systems and write a thesis* about the application of caring within a governmental structure. Include your own observations and suggestions.
- Create a motivational/inspirational workshop* focusing on caring. Lead the workshop to at least 3 different groups of people and record the responses from each of the populations.
- Using the list of philanthropic organizations in the violet bullets, do a comparative study* on how and what these groups are doing to make the world a more caring, loving place. Provide specific examples and present* your study on a free share video talk.

- Do a deed* that shows you really care about someone. Have that person tell you how they felt being cared for by you.
- Practice three random acts of politeness and do a drawing* representing how those caring acts made you feel.
- Brainstorm with a group of your peers about ways you can show you care about your community. Implement* as many of these ideas as you can and journal about the results.
- Research the connection or un-connection between love and caring. Write and publish an essay* about your finding.
- Pick at least 5 values from the blue section and create a project* that show if and how caring influences people while they implement those values.
- Write and open source publish an article* on caring and empathy and the roles they play in community.
- Create a workshop* on achievement and the relation caring has on success. Lead the participants in activities that allow them to really grasp the importance of love and connection, honesty and integrity and diversity to their individual accomplishments. At the end of the workshop have participants take home a questionnaire to send back to you after they implement what they learned for at least a month.
