This week, Vidhi Bansal (3D Visualization Artist) completed another week of assisting with Earthbag Village. Vidhi concentrated on the 4 dome flythrough project, primarily engaging in character sourcing and skeleton rigging for animation requirements. The rigging process involved a two-step validation of bone and joint movements for accuracy. Following this, she advanced to creating keyframe animations using the established control rig system. Additionally, Vidhi focused on producing animations for diverse actions such as walking, sitting, talking, conversing on the phone, and gesturing. See below for some of the pictures.

DUPLICABLE CITY CENTER PROGRESS

One Community is launching a global renaissance through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:

This week, Amiti Singh (Architectural Designer) completed the design and modeling of a visitor room for the Duplicable City Center. Amiti advanced the development of the retro-themed visitor room in Duplicable City. She refined the room’s final aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the Renaissance of art and architecture as interpreted by contemporary artists from that era. Amiti carried out tasks encompassing wall and furniture design, color curation, and paint palette selection. Furthermore, she concluded the design model, encapsulating the authentic essence of the 1990s retro movement. See below the pictures.

Julio Marín Bustillos (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Julio successfully finished constructing the hub connectors for the complete third row. Looking ahead, he commenced the design phase of hub connectors for the fourth row. He envisions the potential for increased uniformity in these designs, which could result in more streamlined design processes through repeated nodes. Nonetheless, if the designs do not achieve uniformity, Julio expects a time investment comparable to that of the third row’s connectors. The pictures below provide a glimpse of the images.

Ranran Zhang (Architectural Design) completed another week working on the updated video for launching a global renaissance Duplicable City Center internal and external walkthrough. Ranran effectively resolved issues associated with the Lumion model. She conducted a comprehensive review and corrective process for the launching a global renaissance animations of all characters within the model, ensuring their movements adhered to a uniform and lifelike trajectory. Furthermore, she endeavored to identify and address the challenge of the underground area being obscured by the ground. Take a look at the images below to see some of the progress made in this work.

One Community is launching a global renaissance through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity:

This week, the core team continued our review of the open-source Highest Good Food designs for launching a global renaissance. We conducted edits on the Food Infrastructure Rollout document up to page 38. The document encompasses a range of subjects pertaining launching a global renaissance to food production, such as orchard resurrection, food forest establishment, hugelkultur construction, transition kitchen setup, and the introduction of diverse farm animals. We executed revisions in the segments concerning bees, chickens, rabbits, rabbit harvesting, and goats. Furthermore, we carried out edits in the sections pertaining to the stock pond, food forest, fuel storage, and maintenance building. And Gregory Quach (Data Enterer for Chef/Culinary) continued working on the Transition Kitchen, finalizing the PDFs and subsequently resuming work on the recipe sheets. He dedicated his efforts to Google Sheets tasks. He performed an extensive evaluation of the Transition Kitchen Recipe Build Out project, with specific attention to integrating an aggregate function for streamlined column addition. Presently, Gregory’s focus revolves around launching a global renaissance and refining the functionality of this function, recognizing the possibility of incorporating variables to effectively handle data sets concerning quantities and grocery prices. HIGHEST GOOD EDUCATION PROGRESS

One Community is launching a global renaissance through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students. This component of launching a global renaissance, One Community is about 95% complete with only the Open Source School Licensing and Ultimate Classroom construction and assembly details remaining to be finished.

With over 8 years of work invested in the launching a global renaissance process, the sections below are all complete until we move onto the property and continue the development and open sourcing process with teachers and students – a development process that is built directly into the structure of the education program and everything else we’re creating too:

This week, Brian Muigai Mwaniki (Structural Engineer) completed work helping with The Ultimate Classroom. Brian carried out a comprehensive truss design verification for the roof, focusing on both structural soundness and alignment with applicable codes and standards. The task entailed precise evaluation of load-bearing capabilities, stress dispersion, and overall stability.

Thorough calculations were executed to substantiate the design’s appropriateness, with adjustments implemented as needed to attain optimal functionality. Brian’s methodical evaluation aids the advancement of the project and the affirmation of a secure and dependable roof framework. Additionally, this encompassed the conversion of SketchUp renders into DWG files for the purpose of rechecking the roof angles. See below for pictures related to this work.

This week, the core team completed 64 hours managing One Community volunteer-work review not included above, emails, social media accounts, web development, new bug identification and bug-fix integration for the Highest Good Network software, and interviewing and getting set up new volunteer team members. The pictures below show some of this work.

This week, another core team engaged in launching a global renaissance HGN PRs testing, focusing on a comprehensive review and validation process. Six PRs were reviewed and marked as fixed and one as partially fixed. Meanwhile, issues persist in the following areas: a retested bug that concerns the appearance of the Edit button instead of the Suggestion button for managers/mentors when modifying tasks; a case where the owner user encounters difficulties accessing the Suggestion window through the “Suggestions” icon within the Dashboard icons section.

In addition to the launching a global renaissance PR testing, she carried out several tasks, which encompassed the elimination of all Blue Squares assigned due to application malfunctions in relation to Weekly Summary reports, successful testing of a segment of PR#1001 related to link input functionality, the commencement of testing for PR#949 with the creation of a manager account (though the testing was not completed due to a new bug), and the reporting of a bug following the most recent HGN application update on the main platform, resulting in the absence of a logout menu. The image below shows this work.

Jin Hua (Web and Graphic Designer) identified and helped us fix issues with our website and did further research into RankMath. This will help the SEO of our entire website, and important in launching a global renaissance. The pictures below show some of this work.

ADMINISTRATION TEAM

This week, the Administration Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Jamie and includes Alyx Parr (Senior Support Specialist and Manager), Jamie Cruz (Administrative Assistant and Team Manager), and Olawunmi Ijisesan (Administrative and Management Support). Alyx ensured the accuracy of feedback provided to team members and undertook the creation of collages, alongside editing summaries for the blog. She embarked on learning the setup process for the PR Team within the blog framework, and although she attempted to review PRs, comprehension became elusive at a certain point.

Simultaneously, Jamie honed her skills in crafting team collages, successfully integrating them into the website seamlessly. Her adeptness was further demonstrated through the meticulous migration of team summaries onto the webpage, reflecting her adept understanding of tailored summary and collage formats designed for the site’s context.

Additionally, Ola efficiently completed her designated tasks, contributing to the seamless upload of all team members’ profiles along with their corresponding summaries and images onto the platform. She adeptly generated and compiled collage images, significantly enhancing the visual appeal of the weekly website blog. Ola also committed time to an in-depth review of her colleagues’ work, Alyx and Jamie, offering valuable insights through her comments. Moreover, she actively pursued professional growth by engaging with a tutorial and incorporating received feedback to elevate her skill set. The collage below shows some of this work.

BLUE STEEL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Expressers Team’s summary this week, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Tim Kent (Full Stack Software Engineer) and includes Aaron Persaud (Software Developer), Olga Yudkin (Software Engineer), and Yuri Andrade (Software Engineer). This week, Aaron successfully completed the “Create NEW USER function, if blue square added, delete and send special email” task by implementing a function within the timelog modal that updates a user’s start date when they first log time.

He put all the functionality related to the “Start Date” field from the “Create New User” popup into a new branch and subsequently initiated frontend and backend pull requests for review. He provided support to users encountering challenges during pull request testing and conducted testing and approval for PR1130, identifying a bug in timelog date entry edits that affected the range display.

Yuri conducted multiple code reviews for PR1129, PR1127, PR1121, PR1123, PR1116, PR470, and PR1111, addressing various enhancements and corrections in the HGN software, encompassing tasks such as button badge assignment, user badge amount modification, task detail update error resolution, earned badge date correction, and Dropbox link updates.

Olga conducted final reviews of PR#1116 and corresponding BE PR#470, assessed HGN’s unit testing guide to launching a global renaissance, requirements, and code coverage, collaborated on a unit testing plan, engaged in discussions about task fixes, and investigated the recurring update of savedTangibleHours array. REACTONAUT’S SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Reactonaut Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Eduardo and includes Carl Bebli (Software Developer), Eduardo Horta (Software Engineer and Team Manager), Induja Kanchisamudram (Developer), Jacky Li (Software Engineer), Jiangwei Shi (Full Stack Engineer), Masasa Thapelo (Software Engineer), Nida Zaki (Software Engineer), Shantanu Kumar (Full Stack Software Developer), Shihao Xiong (Software Engineer), Shivansh Sharma (Software Developer), Shrey Jain (Software Engineer), Vansh Patel (Software Engineer), and Zuhang Xu (Software Engineer).

This week, Eduardo took measures to enhance the mobile interface of the reports page, delved deep into the bug involving moving summaries, pinpointed a significant event on Sentry, and scrutinized PRs consolidated on July 22. He diligently offered feedback to team members, activated a Cron Job to understand moving summaries better, and bolstered team Masasa and Shihao, with their development endeavors. The week also saw him steering a meeting concentrated on an immediate bug, the essence of end-of-week reporting, and performance intricacies.

Shihao played a pivotal role in crafting HighestGoodNetworkApp#1121 to counteract a bug, inaugurated a ‘date added’ column, made alterations to the database schema, and paved the way for a script tailored for database updating. Carl, in partnership with Eduardo and Oleksandr, unraveled the “weekly summary bug” by navigating the cron job file, co-facilitated a meeting, and meticulously perused multiple pull requests. Induja worked on the task of updating Dropbox file links within the weekly summary update page.

They addressed two specific use cases to enhance functionality. In the first case, she ensured that if the media files link is integrated by an administrator during setup, it remains unalterable on the weekly summary update page, becoming clickable and redirecting users to the media files. Masasa, navigating both segments of the app, mainly cast his gaze on its frontend, immersing himself in an array of pull requests. Jacky undertook a comprehensive review of 12 pull requests, laying his emphasis on the frontend, and invested time in understanding the Highest Good Network Phase 2 Documentation, gearing up for the impending phase of launching a global renaissance.

Shivansh continued his task of investigating and rectifying a bug related to the custom email functionality for Core Team members when they fail to fulfill their designated hours within the app. Jiangwei made strides in incorporating the “task tab time log format” consistently across time log tabs and set forth a pull request soliciting feedback. Shantanu executed extensive PR examinations, greenlighting the majority, and spotlighted certain concerns in comments for some.

Shrey tackled a bug in HighestGoodNetworkApp pertinent to the time entry spectrum and revisited PR#980. Vansh embarked on testing and critiquing numerous pull requests, pinpointing nuances, and championing best practices. Wrapping up, Zuhang Xu pored over the software codebase, culminating in four PR analyses, and stumbled upon challenges with PR 1111 and PR 1103, with his scrutiny poised to conclude on the outstanding PRs. This week, Julia Meaney (Research and Web design) completed another week of assisting with research on building global sustainability and web design. Julia successfully completed her tasks related to the “Door and Window Research” project. She curated accurate resource links for the Resources section, rectified any inaccuracies, and ensured their proper functionality. Julia finalized both the “Most Sustainable Windows” and “Most Sustainable Doors” sections for building global sustainability, ensuring they are ready for seamless integration into the website.

She provided comprehensive feedback to Philips, effectively incorporated his revisions, and maintained content accuracy. Julia took proactive measures by backing up all Resource links as PDFs in her Dropbox and contributed detailed comments to assist Chuck with web integration.

In addition, she made significant progress on the building global sustainability, “Duplicable City Center Engineering” Webpage, reviewing text equations, cross-referencing the source Google Doc, and making necessary corrections. Julia also took the initiative to re-capture screenshots of unclear image equations for future replacement. See the pictures below.

This week, Amiti Singh (Volunteer Architectural Designer) completed the design and modeling of a visitor room for the Duplicable City Center. Amiti progressed the advancement of the art deco-themed visitor room within Duplicable City Center. Initiating the final building global sustainability planning phases, she drew inspiration from the art and architecture renaissance of the period, as conceptualized by designers from that era. Amiti executed various tasks, including furniture design, color choice, and curation of a paint palette for the room.

Additionally, she completed the design model, capturing the genuine essence of the 80s art deco movement. Utilizing a mood board and conducting cost analysis, she formulated the furniture palette for the designated area. See below the pictures.

Julio Marín Bustillos (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Julio concentrated on designing hub connectors for the third row for building global sustainability, accomplishing completed designs for three-quarters of the row. His objective is to conclude the entire building global sustainability third row’s design in the following week. Julio encountered the need to create new designs for almost every node due to specific requirements. Furthermore, he plans to furnish updated files to Yiwei to aid in an updated stress analysis. The pictures below provide a glimpse of the images.

Kiryl Walker ( Volunteer Manager) assisted with the building global sustainability City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Kiryl’s focus was on a comprehensive study of the Duplicable City Center Dome Hub Connectors, encompassing a thorough analysis of load distribution according to the ASCE7 Code for the unique half-spherical configuration, examination of internal forces, and assessment of the existing connector design.

In addition, dedicated time was allocated to gaining familiarity with building global sustainability, management duties and organizational protocols. The team engaged in active discussions, addressing inquiries pertaining to the ongoing design process. See below for the images. Â 

Yiwei He (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Yiwei accomplished the reviewed building global sustainability articles designated for publication on the One Community Global website.

The articles covered various subjects, such as Net-zero Bathroom, Earthbag Village Water Collection and Septic Design, and Sustainable Roadways, Walkways, and Landscaping. Both articles have achieved a publication-ready status.

Furthermore, Yiwei allocated time to enhance the simulation component of the Duplicated City Center model, actively working on its refinement. She is presently awaiting input from the senior engineer in relation to this matter. See some of this work in the pictures below.

This week, the core team continued our review of the building global sustainability open-source Highest Good Food designs. We undertook the task of editing the Food Infrastructure Rollout document, focusing on distinct sections including Worms and Vermiculture Composting, Soil Amendments, Hoop House Construction, and Garden Establishment & No-Till. We additionally adjusted the garden bed widths and supplied a substantial number of grammatical revisions to the document, ensuring alignment with the website publication. See the pictures below that are related to this.

And Gregory Quach (Data Enterer for Chef/Culinary) continued working on the Transition Kitchen, finalizing the PDFs and subsequently resuming work on the recipe sheets. He conducted an in-depth examination of the Transition Kitchen Recipe Build Out project, prioritizing the integration of the import range function to streamline column addition.

Presently, Gregory is actively engaged in the enhancement of the building global sustainability function, acknowledging the potential need for a nested query function to ensure its seamless operation. See the images below for some of his work. Â

Skye’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Yiyun and includes, Bailey Mejia (Software Engineer), Hector Agudelo-Carmona (Front-end Developer), Luis Arevalo (Front End Developer), Yiyun Tan (Management Dashboard Team Leader). Bailey transitioned to the development team, addressing both bugs and new feature implementations. Bailey participated in several building global sustainability PR reviews, including PR #980, integrating Google Doc and Dropbox links to profiles, and tested updates to ensure media modifications.

Subsequently, Bailey reviewed PR #1025, enabling editable role information and a mouseover modal, confirming changes’ efficacy. Bailey investigated a reported task suggestion button issue, confirming its functionality, and identified a bug freezing the application when using the badge report feature. Bailey reviewed and approved PR #1078 and PR #1085, addressing time entry range and back-to-top button bugs, signaling progress for the project’s second phase.

Hector’s week focused on investigating an intangible to tangible performance bug. Replicating Jae’s setup revealed severe application unresponsiveness, hindering tasks due to unreliable loading and crashes upon interaction. Despite updates, the freezing issue persisted, prompting a broader code analysis. Further testing highlighted ongoing loading and interaction challenges beyond the dashboard, expanding the investigation to identify potential un-mounted elements impacting application stability.

Luis conducted a comprehensive PR review, evaluating 9 pull requests. He assessed frontend enhancements and backend contributions, including PRs 1093 and 1082, which introduced a responsive report display modal and consistent date format, respectively. He facilitated advanced scheduling capabilities in PR 1082, and evaluated PRs 1109, 1110, and 1108, ensuring task information preservation, icon consistency, and subtask alignment. Luis also provided feedback on PRs 1106, 1103, and 1072, contributing to the team’s collaborative efforts.

Yiyun took the initiative to form her own group and ran the management work. Additionally, Yiyun played a key role in addressing CircleCI build failures, contributing her expertise to resolve the issues promptly. As always, she actively supported and assisted the entire team, offering her valuable insights and helping with various tasks as needed. This week, Julia Meaney (Research and Web design) completed another week of assisting with research in people care systems and web design. Julia engaged in reviewing and editing the “Traditional Dome vs. City Center Dome Structural Engineering Loading Comparison Report” Google Doc, followed by meticulous formatting, addressing outstanding comments, and finalizing the page for seamless site integration.

Subsequently, she dedicated her efforts to the “Door and Window Research” Google Doc, where she diligently edited, arranged, and formatted the content for optimal integration on the website, leveraging comments for feedback and seeking clarifications.

Julia then undertook the task of separating the windows and doors research into distinct site pages, meticulously restructuring the Table of Contents for each. The resources of people care systems sections were formatted, and content edits persisted to ensure site readiness. Notably, Julia assigned Philip the responsibility of modifying the introductions and conclusions to align with the revised content separation.

Further enhancing the people care systems, “Door and Window Research” Google Doc, she conducted an exhaustive review of the “Most Sustainable Windows” and “Most Sustainable Doors” segments, refining grammar, spelling, and structure, while incorporating pertinent linked references and updating the Resources section. Vidhi Bansal (3D Visualization Artist) completed another week of assisting with Earthbag Village. Vidhi focused on the 4-dome flythrough people care systems project, concentrating on two walking and one gesturing character animations. She utilized control rigs to improve the animation style and realism.

Additionally, she addressed the texturing of new characters to enhance their realism. Vidhi made adjustments to the Tesla charger placement and fitting on the wall and also worked on curving the modeling of the road. The remaining tasks include completing the people care systems texturing of the road and the remaining character animations. See below for some of the pictures.

DUPLICABLE CITY CENTER PROGRESS

One Community is developing people care systems through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:

This week, Amiti Singh (Volunteer Architectural Designer) completed the design and modeling of a visitor room for the Duplicable City Center. Amiti accomplished the design and modeling tasks for people care systems the tranquility-themed visitor room at the Duplicable City Centre. She completed the post-processing of renderings, compiled a comprehensive mood-board presentation, and conducted a thorough cost analysis for project execution.

In addition, Amiti commenced work on the art deco-themed visitor room within Duplicable City. She initiated the room’s planning phase, generating an initial design model that visually captures the essence of the 80s art deco movement, evoking a renaissance of art and architecture as envisioned by designers of that era. Charles Gooley (Web Designer) completed another week of assisting with web design. Charles worked on adding people care systems section to the Water Recycling Net-zero Bathroom page titled “Net-Zero Bathroom Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting Design Details.” The new content was inserted between the Net-zero Bathroom Design Details section below Figure 13 ” Elevation East, Revit graphic, and the Resources section.

The people care systems section covered various aspects of rooftop rainwater harvesting, including the estimation of catchment areas using rainfall supply, water demand, and catchment area storage capacity parameters. It also discussed three categories of rainwater harvesting components: collection, filtration, storage, and distribution. Charles focused on the theoretical analysis of the water storage system using a set of equations representing nodes for drain inlets, junctions, or reservoirs, with most of these equations being coded in HTML for clarity. The pictures below offer a visual representation of this work.

Julio Marín Bustillos (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Julio continued the design people care systems process for hub connectors in the third row and has successfully completed half of the required for people care systems connectors.

To expedite the process, he explored reusing past people care systems designs where applicable, optimizing placement to save time. However, when attempting to run Yiwei’s simulation, he encountered a setback due to an expired license in SolidWorks. To address this, Julio plans to convert the files to Inventor and conduct the simulation there. The pictures below provide a glimpse of the images.

Ranran Zhang (Architectural Designer) completed another week working on the updated video for the people care systems, Duplicable City Center internal and external walkthrough. She successfully addressed various issues in the Lumion model. She rectified the scene’s incompleteness by adjusting the location of 2D trees.

Additionally, she resolved the problem of characters running into the forest by making necessary modifications to the video clips. Ranran Zhang diligently ensured that all the people care systems in the model exhibited regular and natural motions, completing her week’s tasks effectively. Take a look at the images below to see some of the progress made in this work.

Yiwei He (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering. Yiwei completed the traditional dome vs. Duplicated City Center dome comparison report and prepared all necessary people care systems updates for the One Community Global website. Additionally, she made updates to the City Center model and redownloaded SolidWorks to refresh the simulation page. The model is now operational, but some issues remain to be resolved, particularly related to large displacement of people care systems. See some of this work in the pictures below.

This week, the core team continued our review of the people care systems open-source Highest Good Food designs. We continued reviewing and providing edits to the Food Rollout doc. Changes were made to unify the three-person headings, and the explanations of those headings were also updated. The Marco welded wire width length was placed on the people care systems Chick doc link, and a preorder listing for items such as appliances that require a substantial lead time was added to the Food Rollout doc. See the pictures below that are related to this.

The core team also continued to work on the Transition Kitchen. We made 2 videos about people care systems for future volunteers. One video explained how to properly review the information that has been imported into the spreadsheets. The other video described how the various spreadsheets and documents are connected to each other and what the final product should entail. We also reviewed several completed recipes imported to the spreadsheet. See below for pictures related to this.

And, Gregory Quach (Data Enterer for Chef/Culinary) also continued working on the Transition Kitchen, finalizing the PDFs and subsequently resuming work on the recipe sheets. He conducted thorough reviews of each PDF to verify functional integrity, resolving the concern of certain files displaying as blank pages. See images below for some of his work.

HIGHEST GOOD EDUCATION PROGRESS

One Community is developing people care systems through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students. This people care systems component of One Community is about 95% complete with only the Open Source School Licensing and Ultimate Classroom construction and assembly details remaining to be finished. We’ll report on the final two elements to be finished as we develop them.

With over 8 years of work invested in the people care systems process, the sections below are all complete until we move onto the property and continue the development and open sourcing process with teachers and students – a development process that is built directly into the structure of the education program and everything else we’re creating too:

HIGHEST GOOD SOCIETY PROGRESS

One Community is developing people care systems through a Highest Good society approach to living that is founded on fulfilled living, the study of meeting human needs, Community, and making a difference in the world:

This week, the core team completed 79 hours managing One Community volunteer-work review not included above, emails, social media accounts, web development, new bug identification and bug-fix integration for the Highest Good Network software, and interviewing and getting set up new volunteer team members. The pictures below show some of this work. 

Another core team member began verification of all the modifications made to the working Highest Good Network software. This week, she focused on HGN PRs testing, where she successfully checked and marked one PR as fixed. However, there were some unresolved issues that she encountered during the testing process. The Retested 722 bug remains unchanged, specifically affecting the current week’s summary report, as it does not show in the Dashboard’s “Weekly Summary” tab. Moreover, she retested a bug related to PR 737, which concerns the ability of managers/mentors to edit tasks. She documented the existing problem by recording a video.

Additionally, she tested the process of assigning new badges and identified an issue with the incorrect number of badges displayed on the user’s Dashboard. As before, she recorded a video to illustrate the problem. Furthermore, Tatyana observed a separate issue with PR#1030, where the owner cannot see the icon for editing mouseover text. Apart from the PRs testing, she proactively contacted volunteers through Slack application for updates regarding corrections of missed parts for PR and initiated the setup of a case to test the badge assignment for most hours per week for another PR. PEOPLE CARE SYSTEMS

ADMINISTRATION TEAM

Administration Team’s summary was managed by Alyx and includes Alyx Parr (Senior Support Specialist and Manager), and Madhavan Anandan (Administrative Assistant). This week, Alyx efficiently put together her blog content, edited and copied approximately thirty-three people’s summaries, pictures, and collages to the blog, ensuring everything was in order. Despite some challenges with WordPress, she successfully overcame them and verified multiple times that all her content was correct on the blog page.

And Madhaven focused on learning the administrative aspects of managing PR reviews. He gained understanding of the purpose and various types of PR reviews, as well as the best practices for conducting them. Madhaven diligently reviewed all the PRs submitted by individuals, thoroughly examining the changes made and evaluating the quality of the work.

He demonstrated his proficiency in using Google Docs and Excel to input essential details like the PR number, reviewer’s name, review date, and any relevant comments or feedback. Additionally, Madhaven acquired the skill of providing constructive feedback on each person’s work, identifying potential issues, and suggesting ways to enhance the submissions during the review process. BLUE STEEL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Blue Steel Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Nathan and includes Bada Kim (Full Stack Software Developer), Jonathan Carpena (Full Stack Developer), Kurtis Ivey (Full Stack Developer), Lawrence Chua (Full Stack Software Developer), Lucile Tronczyk (Full Stack Software Developer), Nathan Hoffman (Software Engineer and Team Manager), Yongjian Pan (React.js/MongoDB Full Stack Software Developer), Yubo Sun (Full Stack Software Developer). This week, the team worked on various tasks to improve the project and address issues.

Bada merged PR #1075 to fix a missing word in the Weekly Summaries Dropbox link input field popup text. There was a hindrance while reviewing PR #1013 due to a crash with volunteer accounts, but this was resolved with the merger of PR #1076. An effort to eliminate infinite scrolling from the dashboard tasks led to the initiation of PR #1079 by another developer, effectively removing the feature. PR #1006 faced challenges due to problems accessing the page showcasing the changes.

The team also commenced the review of the HGN Software Team Management Doc and reviewed PRs #1013 and #1082. To conclude, PR #1084 was introduced to address console warnings.

Jonathan focused on the moving weekly summaries bug, creating a backend pull request and collaborating with Eduardo about frontend issues. He discovered logic problems causing the weekly summaries to shift by a week and discussed possible solutions with Eduardo. Jonathan also reproduced the bug by logging time and worked on the backend, creating a formatting function for discussion with Eduardo. He found that the bug was harder to reproduce after pulling recent changes into the Dev branch.

Kurtis proactively resolved date format concerns in the weekly summary issue and extended the format enhancement across the application. He initiated pull request 1082, incorporating feedback from reviewers to refine the changes and minimize backend coupling. Lawrence focused on resolving the “Back to Top” button overlap issue on the User Management page by relocating the button and adding margins below the pagination menu. He also worked on a bug related to merging submitted hours for duplicate task names but faced difficulties in replicating the issue.

Lucile investigated and resolved display issues in the “total remaining hours” column after task deletions. Additionally, he finalized two pull requests and tackled challenges related to using MongoDB in the project. Nathan contributed to team collaboration by reviewing the leadership guide, examining resumes, and establishing a Slack group for communication. He implemented Postman authentication and addressed devAdmin put permissions vulnerabilities in PR 467.

Nathan also re-added Jae’s accounts for editing devAdmin in PRs #931 and #467. Yongjian made visual improvements to the dark mode feature, changing border box and text colors to enhance visibility and readability in dark mode. Yubo maintained two pull requests, facing conflicts with the dev branch and resolving page crash issues caused by a revert. He worked on fixing bugs related to NPM modules, non-admin account white screen problem, chunked data from an API, and considered HGN Phase 2 as a potential optimization task. EXPRESSERS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Expressers Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Lucas and includes Aaron Persaud (Software Developer), Lucas Emanuel Souza Silva (Software Developer and Team Manager), Olga Yudkin (Software Engineer), “Sola” Olusola Akinbode (Full Stack Software Developer), and Yuri Andrade (Software Engineer).

This week, the team members were engaged in a variety of tasks to enhance project progress. Aaron Persaud addressed the dashboard’s infinite scroller issue, optimized loading times, and implemented the “Create NEW USER function, if blue square added, delete and send special email” feature, involving both backend and frontend work.

Olga Yudkin conducted comprehensive research on task 255, uncovering multiple bugs in totalTangibleHrs updating and behavior inconsistencies, with intentions to resolve these issues. Joyce Liu reviewed and tested 5 PRs, ensuring functionality and studying code changes meticulously.

Yuri conducted multiple code reviews for frontend and backend PRs, addressing security and functionality concerns across various pull requests. Lucas Silva successfully implemented front and backend functionalities for the Reason Scheduler task, including instructional videos for testing procedures and effective conflict resolution, contributing significantly to project advancement. GRAPHIC DESIGN TEAM

Graphic Design’s summary was managed by Alyx and includes Ashlesha Navale (Graphic Designer) and Kayley Wong (UI/UX Designer and Graphic Designer). This week, Kayley and Ashlesha made significant contributions to One Community’s graphic design tasks. Kayley focused on creating visuals to announce the commitment of three community members to their volunteer work, and she skillfully edited their biography portraits to adhere to the organization’s style guidelines.

These assets were then utilized by her to craft engaging posts, highlighting the biographies of the members on WordPress. Additionally, she took the initiative to revise the social media team’s graphic assets and files, which greatly improved the organization’s visual communication efforts. Meanwhile, Ashlesha concentrated on generating two Volunteer Announcements, producing bio images and announcement images to accompany them.

Notably, she conducted thorough research to curate a collection of nature-based background images and various theme-based images, intending to use them for future Social Media and YouTube Preview/Intro Images. Demonstrating her proficiency, Ashlesha designed the Social Media and YouTube Preview/Intro Images for blogs #704, #705, and #706. Furthermore, she actively participated in creating web content for one of the volunteer announcements. The pictures below exemplify this work.

Jin Hua (Web and Graphic Designer) helped us set up and debug RankMath. This will help the SEO of our entire website. The pictures below show some of this work.

Megan Morelli (Funding Research and Acquisition) helped with the Highest Good Fundraising Research and Acquisition. This week, she joined as the new volunteer for Fundraising Research and Acquisition. She initiated the onboarding process by thoroughly familiarizing herself with the organization’s mission and plan.

Megan strategically planned an approach to identify and prioritize foundations that align with the organization’s purpose. She successfully composed an email outreach to connect with relevant foundations. Additionally, she started the process of building a fundraising team by posting volunteer positions on different volunteer recruiting platforms. Below are some pictures of her work.

MOONFALL’S SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Moonfall Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Xiao Tan and includes Abdelmounaim “Abdel” Lallouache (Software Developer), Edwin Estuardo Lau Mack (Software Engineer), Jianjun Luo (Software Engineer), Sherly Hartono (Software Volunteer), Xiao Tan (Volunteer and Team Manager), Yihan Liu (Software Engineer), and Zubing Guo (Software Engineer).

This week, Abdelmounaim focused on frontend development, introducing a new column in the user management table specifically for requested time off. He skillfully integrated a user-friendly button for each individual, enabling efficient logging of time off, and implemented a dynamic modal for inputting essential details like date, duration, and reason for leave.

Form validation mechanisms were also introduced to ensure data accuracy. Edwin, as a member of the Dev Team, reviewed multiple PRs and enhanced the visibility of the save button for users with ‘Edit Profile’ permission. He also allowed users with ‘Edit Profile’ but not ‘Manage Admin Links’ permission to edit admin links. Jianjun successfully enhanced the ‘manage user permissions’ modal window to display existing permissions associated with roles, preventing the duplication of customized permissions.

Sherly made significant progress on the project, completing the primary requirement of avoiding incorrect stars when changing required hours for past weeks. However, due to a freezing bug on the main branch, database updates were held back. Nevertheless, productive dialogues were initiated to identify and solve the issue. Tanaya acquired knowledge about creating measurement plans and composed a guide outlining implementation steps and a preliminary measurement plan. She also crafted a tutorial and provided suggestions for deciding goals for the measurement plan.

Xiao reviewed several PRs, offered comprehensive feedback, and documented observations on the software management team for HGN Phase 2. Yihan focused on developing the Create 4-letter Team Code option, refining sorting functionalities logic, enhancing UX design, and integrating the Add/Edit Team Code section on the profile page and Weekly Summary Report page. Zubing diligently worked on integrating the “Write it for me” button into the summary page, conducted research on Redux store and backend API, and resolved conflict files in PR#980. REACTONAUT’S SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Reactonaut Team’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Eduardo and includes Carl Bebli (Software Developer), Eduardo Horta (Software Engineer and Team Manager), Nida Zaki (Software Engineer), Ramya Ramasamy (Full Stack Developer), Shivansh Sharma (Software Developer), Shrey Jain (Software Engineer). This week, the team made significant progress in resolving various issues and bugs. Carl collaborated with Eduardo and Jonathan to address the “weekly summary bug,” establishing a backend branch for implementation and setting up a designated channel for collaborative debugging efforts.

Additionally, Carl contributed significantly to the PR review process, providing meticulous feedback on multiple pull requests. Eduardo played a crucial role in dissecting a persistent bug affecting the weeklySummaries storage and update mechanism. His thorough exploration covered both front-end and back-end files, with a focus on potentially flawed logic within several functions. He conducted extensive testing and analysis, tracing data flow and writing unit tests to pinpoint the root cause of the anomaly.

Eduardo’s investigation also highlighted an inconsistency in dueDates within the weekly summaries array. Furthermore, he worked on implementing Lawrence’s suggestion to fix the back-to-top overlay and Kurtis’s proposal to standardize the date format in the weekly summary report. Nida worked on implementing logic for admin/owner classes to dismiss the icon on the dashboard while ensuring its visibility to everyone except volunteer accounts. She successfully resolved frontend errors related to text prompt retrieval and ensured that the icon disappeared only for the user who clicked the button.

Ramya played an active role in conducting thorough UI testing for pull requests and completed a total of seven PR reviews during the week. Combining her contributions from the previous week, Ramya has now completed a cumulative total of 44 PR reviews. She also investigated the blue square email and achieved a significant milestone by creating her first PR, which is now awaiting approval and merging. Additionally, she prepared a video explaining her work, which was added to the Dropbox.

Shivansh, a recent addition to the development team, took on the responsibility of investigating and resolving a bug related to Core Team members’ inability to complete their committed hours in the app. The bug caused the email notification associated with carrying over missed hours to malfunction. Shrey focused on addressing a bug related to the time entry range in the HighestGoodNetworkApp. He identified and resolved issues with the start date of the week and incorrect data filtering in the timeEntries.js file.

Shrey conducted thorough testing to ensure consistent performance across different user roles and initiated a peer review process for fellow team members to assess the changes. Look below for pictures of this work.

PEOPLE CARE SYSTEMS

SKYE’S SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Skye’s summary, covering their work on the Highest Good Network software, was managed by Yiyun and includes, Bailey Mejia (Software Engineer), Hector Agudelo-Carmona (Front-end Developer), Sav Costabile (Web Developer), Vishvesh Sheoran (Artificial Intelligence Specialist), Yiyun Tan (Management Dashboard Team Leader).

This week, Bailey transitioned to the development team, engaging in bug fixes and implementing new features. Participating in PR reviews, Bailey addressed PR #980, which integrated Google Doc and Dropbox links to profiles. He also tested the updates, ensuring media modification and removal for current accounts.

Bailey proceeded to review PR #1025, introducing editable role information and a mouseover modal, and communicated approval via Slack. Investigating a reported issue with the suggestion button for tasks within mentor and manager roles, he confirmed its proper functioning and suggested a testing error to Jae.

Bailey identified a separate bug related to the badge report functionality, notifying Jae and awaiting approval for dedicated resolution hours. Additionally, he reviewed and approved PR #1078 and PR #1085, addressing a time entry range bug and overlapping back-to-top button on the user management page, respectively, and informed Jae of their readiness for merging.

Hector conducted the initial analysis of the intangible to tangible efficiency bug, yielding mixed results. Further testing is needed to validate accuracy. While retesting the app, the reported documentation bugs did not manifest. Hector also tested the weekly summary submission by others bug, verifying its functionality for different roles.

Successfully saving all tests for both weeks and all roles in both locations. Madhu addressed a project bug, selecting bug 274 to implement chunking for API calls with large data sets. He thoroughly studied streaming and chunking APIs in NodeJS and successfully identified relevant APIs for chunking.

Madhu’s diligence and proactive approach significantly advanced the project. Sav focused on resolving the modify badge count permission and front/backend delay bugs. They identified the state management system as react redux and researched and studied redux. Testing with the redux dev chrome extension, Madhu attempted to apply redux to bug #000, but couldn’t resolve it.

Vishvesh Sheoran delved into Content AI configuration through extensive research. He studied meta tags, conducted thorough SEO research, and explored Meta Schema and Rank Math Plugin services, enhancing his SEO expertise. And Yiyun took the initiative to form her group, managing its establishment and ensuring clear roles and responsibilities. She played a crucial role in resolving CircleCI build failures with her expertise. See the collage below for their work.

This week, Julia Meaney (Research and Web design) completed another week of assisting with research and web design. She focused on various tasks related to web content finalization. Julia reviewed and integrated her final comments on the “Solar Energy Microgrid Setup and Maintenance” webpage, ensuring correct Alternative Text and Image Title Attributes for all images and making minor spelling fixes as required.

Julia also addressed comments on the “Hot Tub Sanitizer Alternatives” Google Doc and integrated unaddressed comments from the corresponding Google Spreadsheet. Additionally, Julia completed a thorough review of the “Open Source and DIY Permaculture Design” webpage, fixing incorrect heading and Table of Contents formats, adding missing headings and anchor links, and making various other edits for finalization.

Furthermore, she reviewed Chuck’s work on the “Duplicable City Center Natural Pool & Spa” webpage, making necessary edits and fixes while cross-referencing content on the source Google Doc. She also worked on the “Traditional Dome vs. City Center Dome Structural Engineering Loading Comparison Report” Google Doc, responding to and resolving comments and formatting the content for site integration. She reviewed the “Door and Window Research” Google Doc and the corresponding spreadsheet, providing feedback and following up on un-integrated comments.

Additionally, she checked and corrected equations on the “Duplicable City Center Engineering” webpage, ensuring accuracy during the conversion process. Finally, Julia edited and formatted updated content from the “Traditional Dome vs. City Center Dome Structural Engineering Loading Comparison Report” Google Doc and worked on the “Door and Window Research” Google Doc, offering clarifications and feedback as she finalized the content for the site integration. Loza Ayehutsega (Civil Engineer/Assistant Civil Engineer) completed another week of assisting with Earth Dam Design & Construction for Water Retention, Pond & Lake Creation. Loza focused on the completion of the Dam safety guidelines report. The report emphasized the significance of adhering to country-specific dam safety regulations and guidelines, given the potentially catastrophic consequences of dam failures. These regulations serve to ensure the overall safety and integrity of dams.

In certain instances, mandatory comprehensive dam safety reviews were required to meet the specified regulations. The report listed the guidelines and detailed various inspection methodologies utilized in the process. Take a look at the pictures below to get a glimpse of this work.

INTERVENING TO MAXIMIZE REJUVENATION

DUPLICABLE CITY CENTER PROGRESS

One Community is intervening to maximize rejuvenation through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:

This week, Amiti Singh (Volunteer Architectural Designer) completed the design and modeling of a visitor room for the Duplicable City Center. She finalized and post-processed renderings, achieving a serene and tranquil ambiance, and expanded the visual depiction of the room. Amiti curated a comprehensive mood board presentation, incorporating all the required products and materials. Furthermore, she conducted a cost analysis for the project’s execution. See below the pictures.

Charles Gooley (Web Designer) completed another week of assisting with web design. He dedicated his efforts to reviewing and improving the Solar Energy Microgrid Setup and Maintenance Duplicatable City Center Engineering Tutorials. Primarily, he focused on addressing comments related to the to intervening to maximize rejuvenation tutorials’ alt and Title texts for specific images, ensuring there were no typos and each alt text contained a minimum of five entries.

In addition, Charles converted all equations in the Duplicable City Center Engineering tutorial that lacked intervening to maximize rejuvenation fractions or summation symbols into plain text. Moreover, he conducted a thorough review of the Free Education Resources list, checking for broken links initially identified by the Grammarism founder.

Where possible, Charles promptly corrected the broken links intervening to maximize rejuvenation, while any irreparable ones were removed. Throughout the process, he also identified and resolved approximately a dozen other broken links, to ensure the accuracy and functionality of the content. The pictures below offer a visual representation of this work.

Yiwei He (Mechanical Engineer) completed another week of assisting with the City Center Dome Hub Connector Engineering intervening to maximize rejuvenation. She focused on designing simplified dome connectors with a two-layer hub connectors structure for the current model.

Several simulations were conducted to assess the feasibility of the hub connectors’ design, although there remain some unresolved issues that need further attention. Additionally, Yiwei dedicated time to reviewing and checking the duplicated city centers’ website page, identifying areas that required improvement and refinement. See some of this work in the pictures below.

One Community is intervening to maximize rejuvenation through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity:

This week, the core team continued our review of the open-source intervening to maximize rejuvenation Highest Good Food designs. We worked on the Food Rollout document, providing edits and conducting a thorough review of items compiled several years ago. We update the document wherever necessary and offer insightful recommendations for tool replacements to ensure more suitable usage and enhanced durability.

Additionally, we commenced the intervening to maximize rejuvenation task of bolding essential items that require purchase, as well as those designated to be constructed by team members. See the pictures below that are related to this.

The core team also continued to work on the intervening to maximize rejuvenation Transition Kitchen. We focused on importing recipes from the Master Recipe Document into the Spreadsheets. Additionally, we held a Zoom meeting with Gregory to discuss and finalize the action items that need completion.

Gregory is tasked with completing the PDFing of intervening to maximize rejuvenation recipes, and will also review the Master Recipe spreadsheets. Meanwhile, we aim to finish importing the remaining recipes by the targeted date. See below for pictures related to this.

And, Gregory Quach (Data Enterer for Chef/Culinary) focused on assisting in intervening to maximize rejuvenation the Transition Kitchen. This week, Gregory focused on the Source Recipes PDF project. He reviewed each PDF to ensure proper functionality, addressing the issue of some files opening as blank pages.

INTERVENING TO MAZIMIZE REJUVINATION

HIGHEST GOOD EDUCATION PROGRESS

One Community is intervening to maximize rejuvenation through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students. This component of One Community is about 95% complete with only the Open Source School Licensing and Ultimate Classroom construction and assembly details remaining to be finished. We’ll report on the final two elements to be finished as we develop them.
