He did his part consciously mapping humanity’s future as he accurately identified the root cause of the issue affecting user discovery within the projects section. Leveraging this understanding, Dhairya took proactive steps to develop a comprehensive sort and search function.

This week, Diya reviewed the development branch, identified six bugs across Timelog, Reports, and UserProfile, and added them to the bug tracker. A hotfix was implemented for the teams page, with a pull request raised for review. Backend improvements were made for manual assignments and blue square edits, and UI changes aligned with Figma mockups were pushed through pull requests #1038 and #2475. A cursor placement issue remains for the summary field when selecting a date without a description.

Hoang addressed merge conflicts on two open PRs: “Make Mark Task as Done and Remove Task from User More Efficient” (#2347) and “Fix Viewing Other Dashboard” (#2257 and #949). Additionally, Hoang attempted a hotfix for the /timelog route accessibility issue. Hoang is doing his part consciously mapping humanity’s future as he  is also coordinating with the PR reviewer, Diya, to re-test a problem related to submitting weekly summaries on behalf of others when viewing their dashboards, as the issue no longer seemed to exist. Furthermore, Hoang is reviewing feedback and making necessary adjustments to ensure the functionality and efficiency of the updates made to the system.

Nikhil completed 18 pull requests, covering both frontend and backend development as well as unit testing. As a new addition to the development team, Nikhil did his part consciously mapping humanity’s future as he spent time familiarizing himself with the code base to ensure a solid understanding before taking on further tasks. This involved reviewing existing code, understanding the architecture, and identifying key components and their interactions.

Peterson improved his pull request implementing the autocomplete feature for the code assignment input on the user profile page. The enhancements included adding three columns and ten rows in the autocomplete. As the user types in the input, the autocomplete filters to suggest codes similar to the entered text. If there are only three suggested codes, only one column and three rows are displayed. Additionally, the autocomplete now has scrolling when there are more than thirty codes available.

Vijeth worked on Docker for the front-end application, ensuring the Docker environment was fully tested and operational. He did his part consciously mapping humanity’s future as he deployed the Docker image on Docker Hub. Additionally, he attended weekly meetings, providing updates on his progress to keep the team informed. Vijeth also communicated with his manager about adjusting the number of hours allocated for the project. He then reviewed the project structure and the dashboard for future changes.

Yashu updated the React code with useState and useEffect hooks to manually refetch data using the useQuery hook. An Apollo Client was built with apollo-boost to consume GraphQL. The useQuery and useMutation hooks were refactored to use Apollo Hooks for more efficient handling. Session cookies were utilized to keep users signed in, and the CSRF token client authentication was set up to prevent CSRF attacks. ONE COMMUNITY WEEKLY UPDATE DETAILS

HIGHEST GOOD HOUSING PROGRESS

Highest Good housing, cob construction, earthbag construction, straw bale construction, earthship construction, subterranean construction, sustainable homes, eco-homesOne Community is developing holistic human support webs through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:

This week, Joseph Osayande (Mechanical Engineer) continued helping finish the Vermiculture Toilet designs. The standing system assembly was developed further with the connector channel. Unistruts with brackets were added, and bolts were distributed along the strut to ensure balance and manage the weight effectively throughout the structure. Two separate designs were created, and a decision will be made next week on which design has the most potential. Selecting the right model is imperative for the project’s success. The vermiculture toilets and other sustainable human waste processing technologies form the basis of One Community’s open source model for holistic human support webs. See below for some of the pictures related to this work.

Rizwan Syed (Mechanical Engineer) also continued helping finish the Vermiculture Toilet designs. This week, Rizwan summarized the team’s design and stress analysis activities from the past three months to update the vermiculture eco-toilet design content on One Community’s website. Rizwan updated design criteria and metal frame engineering sections, incorporating the latest calculations. He researched unistrut wing connectors for pillar support and created custom 3D models in SOLIDWORKS to check assembly fit. He also verified hand calculations for the removable drawer with the engineering team. These efforts support One Community’s open-source sustainable waste processing model. Here are a few photos showing examples of his work.

Yagyansh Maheshwari (Mechanical Engineer) started his work with Earthbag Village designs. This week, Yagyansh searched for options of wheels that can be used in the drawer and finalized a few options after reviewing their specifications. He also reviewed the mechanism for disposing of compost on the ground, ensuring that the selected wheels and mechanism meet the necessary requirements for effective operation. The Earthbag Village is the first of 7 to be built as the housing component of One Community’s open source model for holistic human support webs. See some of this work in the collage below.

EARTHBAG VILLAGE 4-DOME HOME TEAM

The Earthbag Village 4-dome Home Team was managed by Khushboo Parmar (Project Manager) and includes Michaela Silva (Architect)Adefola Madehin (Electrical Design Specialist)Yusuf Thanawala (Structural Engineer), and Karthik Pillai (Volunteer Mechanical Engineer). This week, Karthik focused on completing the four-dome design and understanding the roof loft structure on the 4-Dome Roof Cluster Team, assembling the domes with assistance from Abhishek’s files and directions from Michaela. He also began learning Revit from the basics to support the team and future projects, uploading all necessary files to Dropbox for team access, and plans to continue building Revit skills and optimizing the design to incorporate Michaela’s proposed updates. Yusuf completed the loft design for a live load of 5 kN/m², leading to a wood joist spacing of 400 mm for a 5-meter span. Observing this spacing to be less than expected, he is investigating how STAAD.Pro analyzes and designs the beam, noting that code checking with respect to American timber construction is automatically performed in STAAD.Pro, which may explain the low joist spacing. Michaela updated the details of doors and archways to align with Earthbag dimensions, assessed code compliance for access to the lofts in the domes, recommended an alternating tread stair for optimal suitability, used Revit to model the dome and proposed stair, and finalized the base floor plan accordingly. Fola completed the socket and panel layout for the Earthbag Village project, placing receptacles in the bedrooms and living room, installing the distribution panel in the living room, and preparing to work on the schematic diagram for the distribution panel using the American standard of single-phase voltage. Khushboo held the 4-Dome Cluster Roof meeting with both engineers to identify blockers and determine what is needed to overcome them, monitored everyone’s progress throughout the week to ensure that the projects are advancing on schedule, and set up an interview with a software engineer to recruit more volunteers. The Earthbag village forms the basis of One Community’s open source model for prioritizing positive global change. See their work in the collage below.
