Neale Donald Walsch (international speaker and author of the Conversations with God
book series) just featured an article we wrote on his website, The Global Conversation. The article is called “Creating an Open Source and Free-shared Collaborative Planet“
Here is an excerpt:
What would it take to create a free-sharing, sustainable, open source planet without copyrights and limits of use? Arguably, there has never been a time in history when the awareness of so many people has been directed to the possibility of a planet beyond competition, capitalism, and even money itself. For those who believe in the potential and value of this concept of sharing and collaborating on every aspect of our coexistence, the internet has provided the path to successful coordination and mobilization of our groups and ideas… (read more)

SEGO Center Library and Loft Redesign and Move
In our on-going open source project-launch blueprinting program to promote sustainable lifestyles and create and free-share everything people need to duplicate all aspects of One Community, we met with  Douglas Simms Stenhouse (Architect and Water Color Artist) yesterday for 3 hours to pick up the library and loft redesign for the Social Dome (left) of the SEGO Center City Hub. We also had an in-depth discussion about the the redesign of the Pod 1 Tropical Dome. The redesign stemmed from primarily from concerns that we might not be able to get enough light into the current design to support the tropical environment we desire.
Once we started discussing the Tropical Dome in much more detail, we also realized that the majority of people who may wish to duplicate this dome are going to have vastly different environments that they are going to be building in. With this in mind we’ve expanded the redesign with the following criteria:
┏ It needs to be maximally adaptable and ultimately able to be disassembled if major redesign is needed for us or anyone else
┏ It will have multiple methods of adjusting for seasonal fluctuations of too much heat, too little heat, and humidity so that the worst-case scenario of disassembly should never be necessary
Doug Sketching the Tropical Dome
Our 4-Phase Sustainable Communities Strategy is all about making sustainable lifestyles easier and more attractive. We feel if we do this we can launch a mainstream drive to build self-sufficient teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities all over the world. With this mindset we are re-engaging the Tropical Dome to:
We are also adding some very significant internal design elements so that the recreational application of the dome is supported by the design on day one versus having to wait for all of the greenery to become established. ADA compliance is another addition.
When it is complete the Tropical Dome will be very affordable to build, produce a diversity of food, and provide a beautiful place to relax with a book, or host meditation, yoga, or other classes and gatherings. In the image below you can see the initial drawings of what we are planning. The structure is circular to fit with the design and layout of Pod 1 and the South wall will be terraced (depicted as sloped) to allow maximal sun penetration year-round. The largest trees and plants will be planted along the North wall with progressively smaller and ground based plants as you move South. At the bottom of the space, and backed by the largest plants and trees, will be a pedestal for a class instructor or small group to enjoy the space. The first terrace will be designed for 15-20 students and space for an additional 15-20 will be incorporated into the other terraces.

One Community is extremely happy to announce the official launch of the open source and free-shared One Community Education for Life Program. This official launch is made possible because we’ve now completed the structure for all the key pages and can start inputting the information from all the research and work we’ve been doing over the past couple years AND we are ready for suggestions from anyone who would like to help contribute to this part of the One Community open source and free-shared project-launch blueprinting process.
THE COLLABORATIVE SUGGESTIONS PAGE | OUR OPEN SOURCE BACK OFFICE
Over the next few weeks we will be adding all the content from our continued development and our open source back office, along with the suggestions of our Consultants and YOU, to share the polished version of the foundational infrastructure of this Education Program including: Curriculum for Life, Teaching Strategies for Life, Teaching Tools for Life, and building The Ultimate Classroom. These components are designed to be combined to create endless “Lesson Plans for Life” purposed to grow and evolve what we feel will be the most comprehensive, effective, and diversely applicable free-education program and resource archive in the world. The One Community Foundations of Teaching, Leadership, and Communicating, combined with a collaborative Evaluation and Evolution Component (Portfolio Creation and Maintenance), will then help us to further grow and adapt both the program and as individuals as part of our mission for global sharing and collaboration.
To create this education program we have started by researching the best of what already exists and thinking about how we can capture the essence of these systems as a foundation and then build beyond them. To keep the program ever-expanding, globally collaborative, and as comprehensive as possible, we will be posting these pages as we polish the on-going results of our research and maintaining and updating them with the best and most applicable suggestions of anyone who would like to contribute information and ideas.
Here is the first of these completed pages:
Coming soon will also be the following pages that are already available if anyone would like to look at them and start making suggestions to help us make them the best they can be:

One Community is creating a place to grow together and change the world together. We are creating a space that helps each other live in integrity with each other and the planet as we strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves. We do this by harmoniously respecting each other, nature, and the rest of our one shared planet as explained in the One Community’s first video update.
Our goal is to demonstrate what we feel is the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment we can create. A place based on compassion, kindness, and collaboration. This replicable community will serve as an example for what is possible.
Throughout our design process, we are open sourcing and free-sharing everything needed for construction and replication. This includes what we call “Highest Good” approaches to food, energy, housing, education, for-profit and non-profit economics design, social architecture, fulfilled living, stewardship practices and more. One Community’s first video update explains that we are creating these resources for implementation as individual components or complete developments called teacher/demonstration hubs. These hubs will help launch additional hubs as awareness and knowledge grow.
One Community will be the first teacher/demonstration hub. It will function as an experiential-learning model that facilitates mass participation to address humanity’s most pressing challenges through: A replicable model for expansion, building seven self-sufficient village/city prototypes, becoming the world leader in open-source sustainability solutions, and evolving and expanding ALL aspects of sustainable living.
The One Community self-replicating model is capable of creating a sustainable planet within 30 years. We will achieve this by establishing successful teacher/demonstration hubs on every continent. Villages include designs appropriate for each of the five main types of climates. As per One Community’s first video update, they also include options for even the most challenged economies. These hubs will collaborate with one another, share ideas, resources, and work together as a network to heal the planet. They will also transform the global lifestyle to a more enjoyable, fulfilling, healthy, and sustainable one.
The specifics of how One Community is accomplishing this can be found on the One Community Solution Model to Create Solution-creating Models Page. Research supporting and showing the benefits of a model like this can be found on our Research and Resources Articles Archive.
Even if we don’t achieve our ultimate goal of global transformation, a self-replicating teacher/demonstration model like this will take a relatively short period of time to positively affect millions while inspiring millions more. For One Community residents (the Pioneer Team), the idea of creating and sharing the social and recreational experience with visitors is also fun, exciting, fulfilling, and an additional reason why we are creating this.
One Community’s four-phase strategy for the creation of solution models that create solution creating models uses open source blueprints for duplication that simultaneously address all aspects of the human experience (food, energy, housing, education, social inequality and injustice, fulfilled living, etc.). We see these areas as interdependent and requiring a comprehensive solution if humanity is to move ecologically, socially, economically, and permanently towards a truly sustainable future for everyone.
Our open source model and blueprints engage and inspire people while simultaneously making sustainable living more affordable and easy to replicate. Following One Community’s first video update, by free-sharing the step-by-step plans people need for duplication, inviting people to participate, and demonstrating sustainable teacher/demonstration hubs as a more desirable way of living, the model will predictably expand on its own.
It is this approach we see uniting the world and leading to a new Golden Age for humanity. While we understand that not everyone believes this is even possible, we are nonetheless bringing together all those that do see this as possible as the non-profit think tank of forward-thinking individuals willing to design, build, and open source project-launch blueprint and free-share it for The Highest Good of All.
In conformity with One Community’s first video update, One Community is open source sharing an evolution of sustainable living that addresses the complete human experience. We are doing this because we see the solutions for global food, housing, energy, education, social inequality, ethical business practices, earth regenerative practices, and a desire for a more fulfilling living experience as inseparably interconnected. As a comprehensive solution, we are addressing all these areas simultaneously and open source free-sharing everything needed for individual duplication and/or duplication as complete self-replicating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built around the world.
As we address and open source share these areas we will establish a living example of the first teacher/demonstration village purposed to teach others. To maximally facilitate duplication, One Community will provide seven duplicable examples in line with One Community’s first video update and function indefinitely as a place people can visit and a non-profit and open source think tank continuing to further evolve and share solutions in all of the above areas and more. We will also provide hands-on experience and training. Most importantly, growing upon our sustainable foundation, we will endlessly make this comprehensive solution even more widely known and globally accessible, understandable and diversely duplicable, and inspiring and desirable as a model worth duplicating.
The more people that are inspired and desiring for themselves what it is that One Community creates, the more demand there will be for spreading the One Community model. This leads to the directing of financial resources and resourceful people where we believe they are needed most: the establishment of additional sustainable communities around the world. We also feel this duplication will specifically happen quickly internationally due to the affordability of overseas land, less restrictive building environments, and the spirit of adventure in many people who really desire to make a difference for those who need it most.
To meet the increasing demand for sustainability that we are contributing to, One Community’s first video update explains that we are coordinating with manufacturers, education institutions, individuals, and vendors. This is also part of this model to help the world. Its purpose is to facilitate more engagement of the sustainability industry, produce the absolute best possible consumer value, and the most convenient delivery of goods and methodologies for building sustainable living communities and sustainable living components.
This means we not only provide education and increase needed sustainability resources, we also address the underlying roadblocks to a sustainable planet by decreasing the cost and simultaneously increasing the demand and generating financial support for global sustainability, philanthropy, and humanitarian movements and organizations.
As demand increases, so too will the ways to participate. Right now people are participating as consultants or partners donating time to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and others are more involved as Pioneers of the core team that will be moving to the property. We also have options for people to just follow our progress or participate through internet contribution.
One Community’s first video update informs us that once the supportive physical infrastructure is about 30% developed, One Community will be ready to additionally expand what we offer to include scholarships, free weekend learning groups, core team members choosing to travel abroad to help others get established too, handling the marketing for all similar models operating for The Highest Good of All, and hosting classes and other sponsored events to promote and demonstrate additional methodologies.
We also imagine the high likelihood that our organization will become a foundation that can be trusted as the donation point for distribution of monies to help others to establish this model also.
In accordance with One Community’s first video update, One Community is building solution-creating models designed to create additional solution-creating models to specifically facilitate exponential and sustainable global teacher/demonstration village growth. The following four phases of the strategy we are applying are designed to support each other and accelerate the process globally:
Phase I: Demonstrating a Better Way
We are designing One Community to demonstrate an experience of living that we believe most people will consider to be better because it will be more enjoyable and fulfilling. We also think most people will consider it better because it is made possible specifically through a foundation of sustainable sustainability and a philosophy that is for The Highest Good of All.
Phase II: Open Source Project-Launch Blueprinting
Everything we do we are open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing to make it as easy and affordable as possible to duplicate, adapt, and evolve in the manner that suits each individual and/or group’s needs. As per One Community’s first video update, Free-sharing information like this is our aggressive-exposure engine and an aspect of One Community that will accelerate indefinitely as we continue to build our team, move onto the property, and continuously build and evolve everything that is One Community.
Phase III: Inviting the World to Participate
Everything we are open source project-launch blueprinting is designed to invite the world to participate by duplicating it as either individual components or complete teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities that will be able to be built almost anywhere in the world. Additionally, One Community’s first video update illustrates that people can join One Community as members, consultants and/or partners, or use the suggestions links on our open source project-launch blueprinting hubs to help with the design, implementation, and evolution process. Scholarships, weekend learning and work crews, and tourism will be foundations of One Community once we have sufficient infrastructure in place to support these options.
Phase IV: Universal Appeal and Global Expansion
As One Community continues evolving and establishing ourselves, everything we create and promote will serve as the engine to inspire people to align with the concept of open source and sustainable living for The Highest Good of All. We are doing this to create mainstream appeal and our path to achieving this appeal is demonstrating a happier, more affordable, and ecologically friendly model of living that can be built anywhere in the world.
Open source project-launch blueprinting it all is how we believe the model will spread and, possibly most importantly, that it will predictably spread even faster in the areas where it is needed most because building restrictions, the cost of land, and materials costs are in most cases lower in these areas.
As delineated in the One Community’s first video update, we are creating everything One Community does as open source and free-shared blueprints because we see this as the path to a new Golden Age of creativity, innovation, cooperation, and collaboration for all of humanity. Our model is a solution model that creates additional solution creating models enabling people to live and collaborate globally for The Highest Good of All. The easier we make everything we do, the faster we see the world transitioning.
Every aspect of this model supports itself and contributes to its success, from the sustainable food, energy, and homes, to the social architecture, One Community Education Program, and open source sharing model itself. Each piece can be accessed, evolved, and even re-birthed as something completely new. It is clearly stated in the One Community’s first video update, that it can be duplicated by itself or with other modules, with applications as diverse as the people who want and need them. The constantly expanding total model will additionally be able to be used in its entirety as the open source project-launch blueprint for a variety of duplicate teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities capable of being built virtually anywhere.
The most profound part is: the more we open source share, the more we help move everyone forward, the more people know about what we are doing and can participate, and the more successful and capable we are of project-launch blueprinting and sharing even more still. it is illustrated in One Community’s first video update, that this is all supported and made possible because:
One Community’s open source strategy will evolve 5 primary types of open source content purposed to reach and service as broad an audience as possible. This includes the following mediums of sharing that are being developed to function as standalone resources or in combination with each other:
Maximum exposure is accomplished through simultaneous implementation of the following strategies:
One Community sees the issues of the world as interdependent and interconnected. To address them simultaneously, we are open-source blueprinting a more advanced standard of living by designing holistic, environmentally-regenerative, self-sustaining, adaptable solutions for all areas of sustainability. as elucidated in the One Community’s first video update, we will model these within a comprehensive “village/city” which will be built in the southwestern U.S. This teacher/demonstration hub will be a place people can experience a new way of living and then replicate it with our open source blueprints: creating a model solution that creates additional solution-creating models.

The SEGO Center City Hub is solution based thinking approach to spreading sustainability and starting comprehensive sustainable communities, villages, and cities all over the world. This component of One Community as a duplicable teacher/demonstration community, village, and city model is purposed to provide an open source and replicable city center, demonstrate cutting-edge sustainability, to function as a community, village, or city recreation center, dining hall, and laundry facility, and to offer a green-luxury option to donors, major eco-investors, VIPs, or anyone else that might not feel like they are initially ready to stay in one of our earthbag or straw bale hand-constructed homes. Because it replaces individual kitchens, laundry rooms, and living rooms for residents, the SEGO Center also saves significant resources.
These most recent 3D renderings and updates are products of the hard work of Karl Harris (Architect Drafter, Designer, and founder of Harris Design & Technology Services) integrating the work of Meg West (Landscape Architect, Permaculturalist, and founder of Meg West Design) and Jennifer Engelmeier (Eco-pool and Spa Specialist and founder of www.LoveYourPool.com). Andrew Sadera (Architect Drafter and Designer) has also been an on-going contributor and consultant to this phase of component development.
Here is the most recent CAD export for the SEGO Center. In this past week Karl was able to integrate all of Meg’s CAD work into a master copy so we could update the SEGO Center Details Page with everyone’s combined work.
This week Karl is focusing on the 4th floor meditation/multi-media center 3D renderings and design details. Here is what we’ve produced so far:
SEGO Center City Hub 4th Floor Cupola Meditation and Multi-media Center
The next evolution is to add in two 7-foot pivot doors to both the East and West walls. These doors will be designed on runners so that they can be opened and positioned as desired to open the entire East and West walls for air and traffic flow and sunrise and sunset views. We will also be replacing the door seen above with a much easier to duplicate “standard” door and replacing all the windows with picture windows for increased lighting and views.
How a Pivot Door Looks and Works
Additionally Luis Rincon (Civil Engineer) is now working on the engineering for the SEGO Center City Hub and creating an open source tutorial for how to use the USGS Seismic data tool and factor in the data when choosing a location for building a building like this. P2S Engineering is also working on the LEED Platinum considerations, load calculations, and appropriate HVAC systems.

One Community founder Jae Sabol was recently featured on “Environmental Directions,” an international, award-winning interview radio series hosted by Nancy Pearlman. The discussion focused predominantly on sharing One Community as a path to creating increased mainstream involvement. More specifically, the years leading up to where we are now in the process, how our foundation of open source and free-shared blueprint creation is a different approach from the sustainability movement of the 60’s-80’s, and how we feel that demonstrating a more enriching living experience is essential because it specifically fulfills deeper human needs. Additional points touched on included the One Community energy infrastructure, ethical building and increasing habitat, LEED Platinum Certification of the SEGO Center City Hub (previously called The Center of Peace), and additional details revolving around our non-profit mission.
Jae was the second interview of two and can be heard at the following link starting at the 15:50 mark:

One Community values the collaborative and cooperative environment created by working and living as a family and we feel extending the family spirit to include all members of One Community, and ultimately all members of the entire human organism, supports happier people and the creation of a better future for the planet. We see every person, regardless of age, playing a crucial role in shaping the One Community environment and we have specifically designed the One Community education program, holistic recreation model, daily living, and construction plans with families in mind.
This week we will start posting and sharing some of the results of months of work on the One Community open source and free-shared Education For Life program designed for all ages. As part of this we are happy to announce that we’ve completed the additional application guidelines and requests for parents and their children who may wish to be a part of this education pilot program as it evolves and develops on the property.

Along with all the infrastructure and education program progress, One Community has also been working hard to respond your feedback! Here are a couple of the newest pages we’ve created:
The Importance of Financial Stability for One Community Pioneers and Our Global Goals Page: While it doesn’t cost anything to join or be a part of the One Community Pioneer Team, individual financial stability is important to our global goals and our desire to form a team thinking, creating, and living for The Highest Good of All. Our entire model is designed around building One Community as an open source prototype for self-sufficient teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities that create abundance, self-sufficiency, and frees people from the financial scarcity that we feel limits humanity’s inherent desire to want to help each other. This new page details the importance of individual financial stability in relation to these goals.
International Sustainable Development Page on the One Community www.SustainabilityNonProfit.org overview website: We’ve had tons of feedback that this website is overwhelming. In response to this we have been working to complete an overview site that will function as an easy to navigate portal to the information most relevant for those just introducing themselves to One Community. This new page on the developing SustainabilityNonProfit.org website is a summary page discussing our 4-Phase Sustainable Communities Strategy outlined in much more detail on this website.

Over two years of planning and collaboration on our open source designs for aquaponics/aquapini sustainable food systems are finally at the point where we are drawing up architectural plans! Huge gratitude goes out to the massive investment of time by our primary aquaponics consultant Avery (Aquaponics Specialist and owner/operator of Integrated Aquaponics) and previous Pioneer Dave Jones who have done the most to get us to the point we are at now.
We just finished our meeting with Doug (Architect and Water Color Artist) and he is now going to take the images you see below and turn them into the quality he has produced for us with Pod 1 and Pod 2.
While Doug is working on the architectural plans for the commercial system depicted above, our next step is drawing out the specifics of what will be planted for each section (trees, media beds, low grow zone, creeper grow zones, and deep water culture), projecting the yields, and evolving the specifics of the aquaculture. We are also getting the plans ready for Doug for the non-commercial designs intended for backyard reproduction featuring food diversity and a more aesthetically appealing “zen garden” themed internal design that you can read more about on our Open Source Sustainable Food Production Systems Details Page.

Our open source village development plan continues to move forward. We made significant progress last week on the Pod 1 (depicted left) Tropical Dome graywater processing plans that are now complete to the point of a 60-page document outlining the design, permitting, and use of the graywater system that we can now start detailing for the tropical dome specific designs.
Karl Harris (Architect Drafter, Designer, and founder of Harris Design & Technology Services) has also completed the first 3D renderings of the SEGO Center City Hub. Here is his initial 3D iteration of the cupola meditation and multi-media center that functions as the 4th floor of this building:
The hovering circle you see was for a possible shade overhang that we decided to drop during discussion on our weekly call. We are also converting the circular design to a much easier to duplicate hexagonal design, adding in pivot doors that will open up the east and west walls, and exploring different roof designs and how they support and integrate with our open source, sustainability, and self-sufficient teacher/demonstration village development plan.
Lastly, we have completed what we hope will be the final necessary drawing (see below) for the aquapini sustainable food infrastructure designs. We’ve got one more call with Avery Ellis (Aquaponics Specialist, owner/operator of Integrated Aquaponics, and our primary consultant on this component of One Community) and we should be ready to send these drawings to Doug Stenhouse (Architect and Water Color Artist) for the next evolution.

You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called."
