This page is the open source and free-shared Duplicable City Center time investment projections page that will evolve with the open source project-launch blueprinting of the One Community Duplicable City Center. When complete, it will include detailed analysis of the time it took One Community to build each of the individual components of this structure as well as the structure as a whole. We discuss this with the following sections:
HELP US BUY THE PROPERTY | WAYS ANYONE CAN HELP
This page is specifically for the time investment details of the Duplicable City Center. As part of our global transformation approach to Highest Good housing, our goal is to give people a clear understanding of exactly how many labor hours it will take to build a complete Duplicable City Center structure. We will be logging and tracking everyone’s hours that participates in the building of the Duplicable City Center to provide the most specific and accurate numbers possible. We are also developing custom software to facilitate this process and help others using our blueprints to perform the same level of tracking so we can be even more accurate by gathering data from multiple builds of this same structure.
Tracking and sharing the labor investment/time needs of the Duplicable City Center is purposed to make replication easier and more predictable. Once labor data has been collected, people will be able to use it to make more educated projections and plans when deciding to replicate the structure. We will also use the data to compare and evaluate construction of the structure and/or its individual components to make construction more efficient when replicated in different locations and for different uses. We’ll post all we learn on this page as the information becomes available.
Labor and time-investment details will be gathered separately for each significant component of the structure so the information can be used to evaluate these components in isolation or as parts of the complete City Center. We will use the Highest Good Networks software we’re developing to track these details, collaborate with others, and open source the data and what we learn from it. The following areas will be tracked separately and then used to produce a final labor total for the whole structure:
We will track and share complete labor and time-investment details as part of open sourcing the initial remote-construction camp setup and maintenance process for building One Community’s housing Phase 1 that includes the Duplicable City Center and Earthbag Village (Pod 1). Labor tracking for this area will include separate totals for:
Primary structure construction for the Duplicable City Center includes all aspects of DIY building this structure and all the related infrastructure details. Labor tracking for this area will include separate totals for:
The eco-laundry facility capable of serving 300+ is one of the components of this structure that could be replicated for use separate from this structure. As such, all aspects of this component’s setup, installation, and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this component.
The eco-kitchen and food-preparation facility capable of feeding 400+ is another of the components of this structure that could be replicated for use separate from this structure. As such, all aspects of this component’s setup, installation, and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this component.
The natural pool and eco hot tub designs are two other components of this structure that could be replicated for use separately or together. As such, all aspects of these component’s setup, installation, and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to these components.
The complete automation, monitoring, and control systems setup and data gathering and sharing infrastructure is another of the components of this building that could be replicated for use separate from this structure. As such, all aspects of this component’s setup, installation, and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this component.
Off-grid-living Control, Measuring, and Automation Systems Exploration and Implementation
Open source and do-it-yourself recycled pipe chair, table, couch, lighting, and shelving can be replicated as part of this structure or independently. As such, all aspects of this furniture’s construction and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this furniture.
Open source and do-it-yourself pallet furniture bed, table, chairs, closet, and end tables can be replicated as part of this structure or independently. As such, all aspects of this furniture’s construction and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this furniture.
Installing and maintaining internet and a WiFi network is another area replicable separate from this structure. As such, all aspects of setup, installation, and maintenance will be tracked and open source shared separately here and on the open source hub specific to this component.
All areas of the One Community project will be thoroughly labor-tracked for open source sharing. Some of the most notable ones related to this structure but planned for tracking on their specific open source hubs (rather than here) are:
To help make the Duplicable City Center as easy to replicate as possible, we are sharing the specifics of exactly how long it will take to construct each part of it. We will use our open source Highest Good Network software to track the labor details separately for each component so that they can be used by those only interested in replicating components instead of the entire structure. Using this software for collaboration with others constructing this structure (or the individual components) will also allow us to compare our data with others, identify and analyze differences based on location, and pinpoint areas where we can improve so we can collaboratively evolve construction efficiency. We’ll post all we learn on this page as the information becomes available.
"In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model.
You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called."
