One Community is happy to welcome Joel Newman to the One Community Graphic Design Team!
Joel Newman – Architectural Visualization Designer: Joel has had a focus on architecture and design from a very early age, growing up in a household with a furniture designer/finish carpenter and a painter. In childhood, he routinely drew floor plans for “dream houses” on scraps of paper and built forts in the woods to match them, although perhaps not exactly to scale. In later years, Joel studied psychology at the University of Puget Sound and digital media production at the University of Idaho. After college, he worked for many years managing a chain of one-hour photo labs. Joel currently works in an industrial design studio by day and by night runs Figment, a project dedicated to bringing imagination to life in the form of photographs of things that don’t yet exist. In his spare time Joel is an avid hiker and road-tripper, and loves to wander around the Pacific Northwest exploring the mountains and woods. As a One Community partner and consultant, Joel is creating the real-to-life renders of the Duplicable City Center.

We are creating sustainable global transformation through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:
This last week the core team finished another 25% of the Art/Music and Trade Skills subject image.
Arts and Trades Molecule In Progress
We are creating sustainable global transformation through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity:
This last week the core team ran more sunlight simulations on the Aquapini & Walipini designs to test our newest skylight layout.
We also finished designing the passive cooling labyrinth in 3-D:
Passive Cooling Labyrinth
And completed sunlight calculations comparing the current Tropical Atrium design to a 50% glazing with insulating shutters design:
Tropical Atrium Heat Calculations
* Note: “Extra” denotes more than the amount of BTUs needed to keep the TA at temperature given perfect thermal mass and transfer at night. Thermal mass capacity needs to be the absolute value of the night BTUs needed.
Zdenek Jurik (P.E. Structural, Civil and Mechanical Engineer and founder of ABC Engineering) continued engineering on the Aquapini & Walipini roof design and has been able to safely reduce the roof beam sizes (and their associated costs) from 16″ to 12″.

We are creating sustainable global transformation through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:
This last week the core team completed the rest of the planting plan for the complete outer ring of the Earthbag Village, the first village we’ll construct as part of our sustainable global transformation housing model:
Planting Plan for Outer Ring of the Earthbag Village
Victor Herber (Mechanical Engineer) also made more huge progress on the vermiculture toilet engineering which you can see here, further aiding in our goal of sustainable global transformation through ecological human waste processing. The plan now is a steel framework that will support aluminum trays 3′ wide by 7′ long. This will allow us to use the lighter (and much easier to remove and empty) aluminum trays while maintaining the needed structural integrity of the foundational tray system by using heavier steel:

Philip Gill (Interior and Furniture Designer and Owner of Philip Gill Design) also updated the murphy bed dome home custom furniture design to have an 8′ ceiling, providing us with more loft room and a design consistent with the Student’s Shared Room furniture design and the Children’s Shared Room furniture designs (see below).
Murphy Bed with added Loft for Dome Home
We are creating sustainable global transformation through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, can provide laundry for over 300 people, beautiful, spacious, saves resources, saves money, and saves space:
This last week the core team completed 3-D details for the aesthetic rock and swimming pool features around the indoor/outdoor swimming pool:

One Community is creating a place to grow together and change the world together. We are creating a space that helps each other live in integrity with each other and the planet as we strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves. We do this by harmoniously respecting each other, nature, and the rest of our one shared planet through sustainable global transformation.
Our goal is to demonstrate what we feel is the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment we can create. A place based on compassion, kindness, and collaboration. This replicable community will serve as an example for what is possible in achieving a sustainable global transformation.
Throughout our design process we are open sourcing and free-sharing everything needed for construction and replication. This includes what we call “Highest Good” approaches to food, energy, housing, education, for-profit and non-profit economics design, social architecture, fulfilled living, stewardship practices and more. We are creating these resources for implementation as individual components or complete developments called teacher/demonstration hubs. These hubs will help launch additional hubs as awareness and knowledge growth on sustainable global transformation.
One Community will be the first teacher/demonstration hub. It will function as an experiential-learning model that facilitates mass participation to address humanity’s most pressing challenges through: A replicable model for expansion, building seven self-sufficient village/city prototypes, becoming the world leader in open-source sustainability solutions, and evolving and expanding ALL aspects of sustainable living.
The One Community self-replicating model is capable of creating a sustainable planet within 30 years. We will achieve this by establishing successful teacher/demonstration hubs on every continent that will educate people on sustainable global transformation. Villages include designs appropriate for each of the five main types of climates. They also include options for even the most challenged economies. These hubs will collaborate with one another, share ideas, resources, and work together as a network to heal the planet. They will also transform the global lifestyle to a more enjoyable, fulfilling, healthy, and sustainable one.
The specifics of how One Community is accomplishing this can be found on the One Community Solution Model to Create Solution-creating Models Page. Research supporting and showing the benefits of a model like this can be found on our Research and Resources Articles Archive.
Even if we don’t achieve our ultimate goal of sustainable global transformation, a self-replicating teacher/demonstration model like this will take a relatively short period of time to positively affect millions while inspiring millions more. For One Community residents (the Pioneer Team), the idea of creating and sharing the social and recreational experience with visitors is also fun, exciting, fulfilling, and an additional reason why we are creating this.
One Community’s four-phase strategy for the creation of solution models that create solution creating models uses open source blueprints for duplication that simultaneously address all aspects of the human experience (food, energy, housing, education, social inequality and injustice, fulfilled living, etc.). We see these areas as interdependent and requiring a comprehensive solution if humanity is to move ecologically, socially, economically, and permanently towards a truly sustainable future for everyone.
Our open source model and blueprints engage and inspire people while simultaneously making sustainable living more affordable and easy to replicate. By free-sharing the step-by-step plans people need for duplication, inviting people to participate, and demonstrating sustainable teacher/demonstration hubs as a more desirable way of living, the model will predictably expand on its own, and therefore fostering a sustainable global transformation.
It is this approach of sustainable global transformation that we see uniting the world and leading to a new Golden Age for humanity. While we understand that not everyone believes this is even possible, we are nonetheless bringing together all those that do see this as possible as the non-profit think tank of forward-thinking individuals willing to design, build, and open source project-launch blueprint and free-share it for The Highest Good of All.
One Community is building solution-creating models designed to create additional solution-creating models to specifically facilitate exponential and sustainable global teacher/demonstration village growth. The following four phases of the strategy we are applying are designed to support each other and accelerate the process of sustainable global transformation globally:
Phase I: Demonstrating a Better Way
We are designing One Community to demonstrate an experience of living that we believe most people will consider to be better because it will be more enjoyable and fulfilling. We also think most people will consider it better because it is made possible specifically through a foundation of sustainable sustainability and a philosophy that is for The Highest Good of All.
Phase II: Open Source Project-Launch Blueprinting
Everything we do we are open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing to make it as easy and affordable as possible to duplicate, adapt, and evolve in the manner that suits each individual and/or group’s needs in attaining sustainable global transformation. Free-sharing information like this is our aggressive-exposure engine and an aspect of One Community that will accelerate indefinitely as we continue to build our team, move onto the property, and continuously build and evolve everything that is One Community.
Phase III: Inviting the World to Participate
Everything we are open source project-launch blueprinting is designed to invite the world to participate by duplicating it as either individual components or complete teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities that will be able to be built almost anywhere in the world. Additionally, people can join One Community as members, consultants and/or partners, or use the suggestions links on our open source project-launch blueprinting hubs to help with the design, implementation, and evolution process. Scholarships, weekend learning and work crews, and tourism will be foundations of One Community once we have sufficient infrastructure in place to support these options.
Phase IV: Universal Appeal and Global Expansion
As One Community continues evolving and establishing ourselves, everything we create and promote will serve as the engine to inspire people to align with the concept of open source and sustainable living for The Highest Good of All. We are doing this to create a mainstream appeal and our path to achieving this appeal is demonstrating a happier, more affordable, and ecologically friendly model of living that can be built anywhere in the world.
Open source project-launch blueprinting it all is how we believe the model of sustainable global transformation will spread and, possibly most importantly, that it will predictably spread even faster in the areas where it is needed most because building restrictions, the cost of land, and materials costs are in most cases lower in these areas.

We are creating a global difference through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:
This last week the team completed 25% of the Art/Music and Trade Skills subject image. Here is where we’re at so far:
We are creating a global difference through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity :
This last week the core team started putting the new food infrastructure roof design into 3D along with the passive cooling designs that we are exploring:
We also put together a sun study for the Duplicable City Center planting plan. This is purposed to help us in our plant selection choices for in and around this building:
Zdenek Jurik (P.E. Structural, Civil and Mechanical Engineer and founder of ABC Engineering) has made progress engineering the new roof design we’ve all agreed on. Here is a screenshot:
David Sweet (Architect – DSweet.biz) completed another roof plan for us to evaluate the skylights with this new roof too through its revolutionizing design. Here is what that looks like:
Bupesh Seethala (Architectural Drafter, Designer, and 3-D Visualizer – BupeshSeethala.com) is now through real-to-life 3D models of the complete phase I food infrastructure. Here’s what this looks like as it is developing:
Aquapini and Complete Food Infrastructure Layout Evolving in 3DS Max – Click for the Open Source Hub
We are creating a global difference through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:
This last week Victor Herber (Mechanical Engineer) made huge progress on the vermiculture toilet engineering, identifying the stresses we can expect from the weight within these structures using several different design approaches. Here’s what this looks like:
Philip Gill (Interior and Furniture Designer and Owner of Philip Gill Design) also provided complete and detailed descriptions for the features of the custom furniture he’s designed for the earth dome homes. Here they are with related image collages:
This first furniture design is meant to accommodate up to two adults. In this version, it contains a queen-sized Murphy Bed, built-in nightstands, shelving, and a combination closet/dressing area. A full-sized bed option is also planned for those wishing to conserve space or perhaps for a single person living alone in a dome. The design is truly revolutionizing.
When folded down, the bed provides comfortable and spacious sleeping for two. When the bed is up, the underside displays a picture-frame design that is both decorative and functional. Decorative in that it enlivens what would otherwise be a plain surface with a pleasing design, and functional in that also disguises a fold-down worktable large enough for two adults to be working on their laptops, one at either end, at the same time, through its efficient design.
The overhang above contains three recessed lights that provide illumination on the table to work, and at bedtime (with the bed folded down) to read in bed. On either side of the Murphy Bed are built-in drawers that double as storage and nightstands with built-in down-lights and shelves above. Behind and to both sides, each adult has his or her own personal closet/storage/dressing area, and on one side, there’s a ladder that leads to the loft above that could be storage, a small play room, or even a guest bed area.
This second furniture configuration provides two single beds suitable for children (though not toddlers) up to their teenage years. Below each bed are ample storage drawers on wheels and/or gliders and, behind the bed against the wall, a built-in bookcase with adjustable shelves that takes advantage of otherwise wasted space left by the bed against the curved wall.
Each child has his or her own desk with a pencil drawer and a desk chair, and together they share a chifferobe for hanging clothes and other storage. Completing the set is a ladder on casters that provides means to the loft storage above. The children’s shared-room designs continue our goal for all ages.
The third furniture configuration is designed with two students in mind, ranging from high school through college or university. It is basically the same as the children’s configuration above, but it adds an additional rolling file cabinet/storage unit on wheels. It also has a folding top that opens to an approximately 2′ x 2′ table space.
By placing the cabinet on wheels, students can move it anywhere in the dome for their personal use, allowing them to work on their laptops while sitting on their bed for instance. On the front side of the rolling cabinet there is one small and two large drawers for storage, and one file drawer that accommodates standard letter-sized pages. On the back side, it contains a small, six-inch deep locking cabinet door that allows students to secure personal belongings through the innovatory design.
These custom furniture designs can be built in a variety of wood finishes or paint colors. Regardless of the finish an individual chooses, they will be built using sustainable woods, low-VOC paints and varnishes, and other similar materials.
We are creating a global difference through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, can provide laundry for over 300 people, beautiful, spacious, saves resources, saves money, and saves space:
This last week the team completed 3-D details for the library, adding in furniture, a waterfall, and building the custom shelving details for the city:
We also completed the initial 3-D layout for the outdoor aspect of the indoor/outdoor natural pool which is a wading pond and bio-filter for the swimming area, that is in the center of this structure:
Two other areas that progressed this within last week are areas we haven’t reported on in a while. The first is the Global Food Collaborative software partners Guy Fraser and Chad Parker are working on. Here’s a couple screenshots showing they are now focusing on building the open source botanical taxonomy and plant list to start, looking to continue creating a global difference:
UPDATE: A PLANT APPLICATION WITH THE DETAIL, OPEN SOURCE, AND COLLABORATIVE INPUT
ABILITY WE DESIRE NOW EXISTS: CLICK HERE FOR THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF LIFE
Global Food Collaborative
The other exciting area of progress in creating a global difference- we’re reporting on is the custom open source city operations software. The core team is now completely revamping this software and this is the first screenshot we have to share after weeks of work. In this example, you can see the “Highest Good Network” group (which is the parent/top-level group of the application). From here you’ll be able to navigate between sub-groups using the arrows next to the group title, view members, and click on people’s images for their profile.

The more people that are inspired and desiring for themselves what it is that One Community creates, the more demand there will be for spreading the One Community model of creating a global difference. This leads to the directing of financial resources and resourceful people where we believe they are needed most: the establishment of additional sustainable communities around the world. We also feel this duplication will specifically happen quickly internationally due to the affordability of overseas land, less restrictive building environments, and the spirit of adventure in many people who really desire to make a difference for those who need it most.
To meet the increasing demand for sustainability that we are contributing to, we are coordinating with manufacturers, education institutions, individuals, and vendors. This is also part of this model to help the world in creating a global difference. Its purpose is to facilitate more engagement of the sustainability industry, produce the absolute best possible consumer value, and the most convenient delivery of goods and methodologies for building sustainable living communities and sustainable living components.
This means we not only provide education and increase needed sustainability resources to help achieve our goal of creating a global difference, we also address the underlying roadblocks to a sustainable planet by decreasing the cost and simultaneously increasing the demand and generating financial support for global sustainability, philanthropy, and humanitarian movements and organizations.
As demand increases, so too will the ways to participate in creating a global difference. Right now people are participating as consultants or partners donating time to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and others are more involved as Pioneers of the core team that will be moving to the property. We also have options for people to just follow our progress or participate through internet contribution.
Once the supportive physical infrastructure is about 30% developed, One Community will be ready to additionally expand what we offer to include scholarships, free weekend learning groups, core team members choosing to travel abroad to help others get established too, handling the marketing for all similar models operating for The Highest Good of All, and hosting classes and other sponsored events to promote and demonstrate additional methodologies that will help us in moving a step closer to our goal of creating a global difference.
We also imagine the high likelihood that our organization will become a foundation that can be trusted as the donation point for distribution of monies to help others to establish this model also.

We are creating everything One Community does as open source and free-shared blueprints because we see this as the path to a new Golden Age of creativity, innovation, cooperation, and collaboration for all of humanity that will help us in creating a global difference. Our model is a solution model that creates additional solution creating models enabling people to live and collaborate globally for The Highest Good of All. The easier we make everything we do, the faster we see the world transitioning into creating a global difference.
Every aspect of this model supports itself and contributes to its success, from the sustainable food, energy, and homes, to the social architecture, One Community Education Program, and open source sharing model itself. Each piece can be accessed, evolved, and even re-birthed as something completely new. It can be duplicated by itself or with other modules, with applications as diverse as the people who want and need them. The constantly expanding total model will additionally be able to be used in its entirety as the open source project-launch blueprint for a variety of duplicate teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities capable of being built virtually anywhere.
The most profound part about creating a global difference is: the more we open source share, the more we help move everyone forward, the more people know about what we are doing and can participate, and the more successful and capable we are of project-launch blueprinting and sharing even more still. This is all supported and made possible because:
One Community’s open source strategy will evolve 5 primary types of open source content purposed to reach and service as broad an audience as possible in the process of creating a global difference. This includes the following mediums of sharing that are being developed to function as standalone resources or in combination with each other:
Maximum exposure of creating a global difference is accomplished through simultaneous implementation of the following strategies:

One Community is happy to welcome Amira Kessem to the One Community Design Team!
Amira Kessem – Mechanical Engineering Student: Amira spent her childhood in an alternative school called a “democratic school,” where she experienced first hand what life can be like when people have an abundance of free time and resources. This has made her passionate about changing the world in that direction. She chose to study engineering because she believes it is a way in which she can make a difference, and she volunteers for One Community for the same reason. She is studying Mechanical Engineering at the Technion in Israel and following an energy track focus with a desire to get a job developing renewable energy technologies. Current courses include dynamics, differential equations, materials engineering, solid mechanics, and thermodynamics. As a One Community partner, Amira is helping with the vermiculture eco-toilets designs.

One Community is creating a place to grow together and forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities. We are creating a space that helps each other live in integrity with each other and the planet as we strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves. We do this by harmoniously respecting each other, nature, and the rest of our one shared planet.
Our goal is to demonstrate what we feel is the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment we can create. A place based on compassion, kindness, and collaboration. This replicable community will serve as an example for what is possible.
These hubs will help launch additional hubs as awareness and knowledge grow.
One Community will be forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities and create the first teacher/demonstration hub.
The One Community self-replicating model is capable of creating a sustainable planet within 30 years by forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities. We will achieve this by establishing successful teacher/demonstration hubs on every continent.
Even if we don’t achieve our ultimate goal of global transformation, a self-replicating teacher/demonstration model like this will take a relatively short period of time to positively affect millions while inspiring millions more.
We see these areas as interdependent and requiring a comprehensive solution if humanity is to move ecologically, socially, economically, and forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities.
Our open source model and blueprints engage and inspire people while simultaneously making sustainable living more affordable and easy to replicate. By free-sharing the step-by-step plans people need for duplication, inviting people to participate, and demonstrating sustainable teacher/demonstration hubs as a more desirable way of living, the model will predictably expand on its own.
It is this approach we see uniting the world and leading to a new Golden Age for humanity. While we understand that not everyone believes this is even possible, we are nonetheless bringing together all those that do see this as possible as the non-profit think tank of forward-thinking individuals willing to design, build, and open source project-launch blueprint and free-share it for The Highest Good of All.
One Community is open source sharing an evolution of sustainable living that addresses the complete human experience. We are doing this because we see the solutions for global food, housing, energy, education, social inequality, ethical business practices, earth regenerative practices, and a desire for a more fulfilling living experience as inseparably interconnected. As a comprehensive solution, we are addressing all these areas simultaneously and open source free-sharing everything needed for individual duplication and/or duplication as complete self-replicating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built around the world.
As we address and open source share these areas we will be forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities and establish a living example of the first teacher/demonstration village purposed to teach others. To maximally facilitate duplication, One Community will provide seven duplicable examples and function indefinitely as a place people can visit and a non-profit and open source think tank continuing to further evolve and share solutions in all of the above areas and more. We will also provide hands-on experience and training. Most importantly, growing upon our sustainable foundation, we will endlessly make this comprehensive solution even more widely known and globally accessible, understandable and diversely duplicable, and inspiring and desirable as a model worth duplicating.
The more people that are inspired and desiring for themselves what it is that One Community creates, the more demand there will be for spreading the One Community model.
This is also part of this model to help the world by forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities. Its purpose is to facilitate more engagement of the sustainability industry, produce the absolute best possible consumer value, and the most convenient delivery of goods and methodologies for building sustainable living communities and sustainable living components.
This means we not only provide education and increase needed sustainability resources, we also address the underlying roadblocks to a sustainable planet by decreasing the cost and simultaneously increasing the demand and generating financial support for global sustainability, philanthropy, and humanitarian movements and organizations.
As demand increases, so too will the ways to participate. Right now people are participating as consultants or partners donating time to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and others are more involved as Pioneers of the core team that will be moving to the property. We also have options for people to just follow our progress or participate through internet contribution.
Once the supportive physical infrastructure is about 30% developed, One Community will be ready to additionally expand what we offer to include scholarships, free weekend learning groups, core team members choosing to travel abroad to help others get established too, handling the marketing for all similar models operating for The Highest Good of All, and hosting classes and other sponsored events to promote and demonstrate additional methodologies.
We also imagine the high likelihood that our organization will become a foundation that can be trusted as the donation point for distribution of monies to help others to establish this model also.
One Community is building solution-creating models designed to create additional solution-creating models to specifically facilitate exponential and sustainable global teacher/demonstration village growth. The following four phases of the strategy we are applying are designed to support each other and accelerate the process globally:
Phase I: Demonstrating a Better Way
We are designing One Community to demonstrate an experience of living that we believe most people will consider to be better because it will be more enjoyable and fulfilling. We also think most people will consider it better because it is made possible specifically through a foundation of sustainable sustainability and a philosophy that is for The Highest Good of All.
Phase II: Open Source Project-Launch Blueprinting
Everything we do we are open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing to make it as easy and affordable as possible to duplicate, adapt, and evolve in the manner that suits each individual and/or group’s needs.
We are doing this to create mainstream appeal and our path to achieving this appeal is demonstrating a happier, more affordable, and ecologically friendly model of living that can be built anywhere in the world.
Open source project-launch blueprinting it all is how we believe the model will spread and, possibly most importantly, that it will predictably spread even faster in the areas where it is needed most because building restrictions, the cost of land, and materials costs are in most cases lower in these areas. The aim of forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities at its center.
We are creating everything One Community does as open source and free-shared blueprints because we see this as the path to a new Golden Age of creativity, innovation, cooperation, and collaboration for all of humanity. Our model is a solution model that creates additional solution creating models enabling people to live and collaborate globally for The Highest Good of All. The easier we make everything we do, the faster we see the world transitioning and forwarding a global collaboration of sustainable communities
The most profound part is: the more we open source share, the more we help move everyone forward, the more people know about what we are doing and can participate, and the more successful and capable we are of project-launch blueprinting and sharing even more still. This is all supported and made possible because:
One Community’s open source strategy will evolve 5 primary types of open source content purposed to reach and service as broad an audience as possible. This includes the following mediums of sharing that are being developed to function as standalone resources or in combination with each other:
Maximum exposure is accomplished through simultaneous implementation of the following strategies:
FORWARDING A GLOBAL COLLABORATION OF SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES: SUMMARY
One Community sees the issues of the world as interdependent and interconnected. To address them simultaneously, we are open-source blueprinting a more advanced standard of living by designing holistic, environmentally-regenerative, self-sustaining, adaptable solutions for all areas of sustainability. We will model these within a comprehensive “village/city” which will be built in the southwestern U.S. This teacher/demonstration hub will be a place people can experience a new way of living and then replicate it with our open source blueprints: creating a model solution that creates additional solution-creating models.

We are teaching people how to make a change in the world through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:
This last week the team finished the complete Social Sciences Molecule:
We are teaching people how to make a change in the world through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity :
This last week the core team ran calculations on a 5th roof and wall design for the aquapinis & walipinis. All of these except the “full greenhouse” include shutters that we will build to cover all glazed areas at night:
We are teaching people how to make a change in the world through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:
This last week the core team took the 3-D work of Devin Porter (3D Graphics Design Specialist) for the hands in the Tropical Atrium center of the Earthbag Village and we began adding in the terraces, paths, and other details:
Tropical Atrium Terraced Growing Areas, Paths, Benches, and Stairs
This last week the core team completed the Earthbag Village central ring planting plan on paper. Details for each of these plants can be found on the Food Forest Page. The 3-D source for all of these plants is on the Sketchup Plants Page. Permaculture is definitely a key tool we’re applying for how to make a change in the world. Here’s the planting plan for the central ring of the village:
Philip Gill (Interior and Furniture Designer and Owner of Philip Gill Design) continues to develop the 2nd furniture layout for the Earthbag Village homes. There are two similar designs with the first being for children or a summer camp type of situation. It features two single beds and storage drawers underneath, two desks, two desk chairs, a chifferobe and a ladder to the loft/storage above.
The second is for interns or colleges students and has all the same elements as the first, but with added storage, file drawers on wheels (to come), and work-space tops that fold out for working, eating, etc. This way students can also sit at their bed and work or they could roll these together to create one bigger worktable.
Here is Victor Herber’s (Mechanical Engineer) most recent progress on the vermiculture toilet designs, sustainably processing human waste as a path for how to make a change in the world:
We are teaching people how to make a change in the world through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, can provide laundry for over 300 people, beautiful, spacious, saves resources, saves money, and saves space:
This last week the team finished adding the final two windows to the social dome (for natural lighting in the hallways) and also added in bench and stair details to the indoor and outdoor pool. Sustainably building as a path for how to make a change in the world:
Karl Harris (Architect Drafter, Designer, and founder of Harris Design & Technology Services) also finished the resizing of all dome wall thicknesses in CAD to reflect the accurate thickness of just 5 and 5/16″!

Phase II: Open Source Project-Launch Blueprinting
Everything we do we are open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing to make it as easy and affordable as possible to duplicate, adapt, and evolve in the manner that suits each individual and/or group’s needs (and in our case, desire for how to make a change in the world). Free-sharing information like this is our aggressive-exposure engine and an aspect of One Community that will accelerate indefinitely as we continue to build our team, move onto the property, and continuously build and evolve everything that is One Community. Here are the constantly expanding hubs for everything we are open sourcing and free-sharing:
Phase III: Inviting the World to Participate
Everything we are open source project-launch blueprinting is designed to invite the world to participate by duplicating it as either individual components or complete teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities that will be able to be built almost anywhere in the world. Additionally, people can join One Community as members, consultants and/or partners, or use the suggestions links on our open source project-launch blueprinting hubs to help with the design, implementation, and evolution of the process for how to make a change in the world.
The easier we make everything we do, the faster we show how to make a change in the world.
The constantly expanding total model will additionally be able to be used in its entirety as the open source project-launch blueprint for a variety of duplicate teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities capable of being built virtually anywhere and teaching others how to make a change in the world too.
The most profound part of this model for how to make a change in the world is, the more we open source share, the more we help move everyone forward, the more people know about what we are doing and can participate, and the more successful and capable we are of project-launch blueprinting and sharing even more still, the more we’ll be successful. This is all supported and made possible because:
One Community’s open source strategy for how to make a change in the world will evolve 5 primary types of open source content purposed to reach and service as broad an audience as possible. This includes the following mediums of sharing that are being developed to function as standalone resources or in combination with each other:
Maximum exposure is accomplished through simultaneous implementation of the following strategies:
One Community sees how to make a change in the world by seeing the world’s challenges as interdependent and interconnected.

We are creating a world that works for everyone through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity :
This last week the core team, with the help of Avery Ellis (Aquaponics Specialist and owner/operator of Integrated Aquaponics), finished the overflow pipe details, stone pathway, south sump-adjacent grow zones, plants in the pond, plant diversity in the DWC 1, and bell siphons:
We also did a new and detailed sunlight and heat study on the Large-scale Aquapini for our specific location and with 4 different proposed roof designs. Here are the results showing the 12′ (3.66 m) South wall and 50% East and West won out as the best when combined with shutters that we will build to cover all glazed areas at night:
David Sweet (Architect – DSweet.biz) finished the basics of all 6 aquapini & walipini structures in CAD. Here’s the CAD export showing them:
We are creating a world that works for everyone through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, can provide laundry for over 300 people, beautiful, spacious, saves resources, saves money, and saves space:
This last week the team completed all the social dome bathroom details: mirrors, sinks, hand dryers, toilet paper dispensers, trash cans, and an adjacent cleaning closet:
Karl Harris (Architect Drafter, Designer, and founder of Harris Design & Technology Services) finished the indoor pool and CAD window placement:

One Community is creating a world that works for everyone. It is a place to grow together and change the world together. We are creating a space that helps each other live in integrity with each other and the planet as we strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves. We do this by harmoniously respecting each other, nature, and the rest of our one shared planet.
Our goal is to demonstrate creating a world that works for everyone as the most sustainable, healthy, and fun environment we can create. A place based on compassion, kindness, and collaboration. This replicable community will serve as an example for what is possible.
These hubs will help launch additional hubs as awareness and knowledge grow.
One Community will be the first teacher/demonstration hub with this focus of creating a world that works for everyone.
We will achieve this by establishing successful teacher/demonstration hubs on every continent.
Even if we don’t achieve our ultimate goal of global transformation, a self-replicating teacher/demonstration model like this will take a relatively short period of time to positively affect millions and move us much closer to creating a world that works for everyone.
By free-sharing the step-by-step plans people need for duplication, inviting people to participate, and demonstrating sustainable teacher/demonstration hubs as a more desirable way of living, the model will predictably expand on its own.
It is this approach we see uniting the world and leading to creating a world that works for everyone.
As a comprehensive solution purposed for creating a world that works for everyone, we are addressing all these areas simultaneously and open source free-sharing everything needed for individual duplication and/or duplication as complete self-replicating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built around the world.
As we address and open source share these areas we will establish a living example of the first teacher/demonstration village focused on creating a world that works for everyone. To maximally facilitate duplication, One Community will provide seven duplicable examples and function indefinitely as a place people can visit and a non-profit and open source think tank continuing to further evolve and share solutions in all of the above areas and more. We will also provide hands-on experience and training.
Most importantly, growing upon our sustainable foundation and goals for creating a world that works for everyone, we will endlessly make this comprehensive solution even more widely known and globally accessible, understandable and diversely duplicable, and inspiring and desirable as a model worth duplicating.
The more people that are inspired and desiring for themselves what it is that One Community creates, the more demand there will be for spreading the One Community model. This leads to the directing of financial resources and resourceful people where we believe they are needed most: the establishment of additional sustainable communities around the world focused on creating a world that works for everyone.
We also feel this duplication will specifically happen quickly internationally due to the affordability of overseas land, less restrictive building environments, and the spirit of adventure in many people who really desire to make a difference for those who need it most.
To meet the increasing demand for sustainability that we are contributing to, we are coordinating with manufacturers, education institutions, individuals, and vendors who also support the idea of creating a world that works for everyone. This is also part of this model to help the world. Its purpose is to facilitate more engagement of the sustainability industry, produce the absolute best possible consumer value, and the most convenient delivery of goods and methodologies for building sustainable living communities and sustainable living components.
This means we not only provide education and increase needed sustainability resources, we also address the underlying roadblocks to creating a world that works for everyone by decreasing the cost and simultaneously increasing the demand and generating financial support for global sustainability, philanthropy, and humanitarian movements and organizations.
We also imagine the high likelihood that our organization will become a foundation that can be trusted as the donation point for distribution of monies to help others focused on creating a world that works for everyone also.
One Community is building solution-creating models designed to create additional solution-creating models to specifically facilitate exponential and sustainable global teacher/demonstration village growth towards creating a world that works for everyone. The following four phases of the strategy we are applying are designed to support each other and accelerate the process globally:
Phase I: Demonstrating a Better Way
We are designing One Community to demonstrate an experience of living that we believe most people will consider to be better because it will be more enjoyable and fulfilling. We also think most people will consider it better because it is made possible specifically through a foundation of sustainable sustainability and a philosophy that is about creating a world that works for everyone.
Phase II: Open Source Project-Launch Blueprinting
Everything we do we are open source project-launch blueprinting and free-sharing to make creating a world that works for everyone as easy and affordable as possible to duplicate, adapt, and evolve in the manner that suits each individual and/or group’s needs.
Scholarships, weekend learning and work crews, and tourism will be foundations of One Community’s goals for creating a world that works for everyone once we have sufficient infrastructure in place to support these options.
Phase IV: Universal Appeal and Global Expansion
As One Community continues evolving and establishing ourselves, everything we create and promote will serve as the engine to inspire people to align with the concept of creating a world that works for everyone through open source and sustainable living for The Highest Good of All.
We are creating everything One Community does as open source and free-shared blueprints because we see this as the path to a new Golden Age of creativity, innovation, cooperation, and creating a world that works for everyone. Our model is a solution model that creates additional solution creating models enabling people to live and collaborate globally for The Highest Good of All. The easier we make everything we do, the faster we see the world transitioning.
Every aspect of this model supports itself and contributes to its success, from the sustainable food, energy, and homes, to the social architecture, One Community Education Program, and open source sharing model itself. Each piece can be accessed, evolved, and even re-birthed as something completely new. "In order to change an existing paradigm you do not struggle to try and change the problematic model.
You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called."
