One Community welcomes Sagar Chavan to the Engineering team as our newest Volunteer/Consultant!

Sagar holds a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from MGM College of Engineering and Technology, and brings approximately five years of professional experience in transportation and civil infrastructure. His experience includes roadway, metro, bridge, and construction projects, giving him a strong foundation in engineering design, construction, transportation infrastructure, and practical problem-solving. He is especially interested in sustainable transportation and infrastructure solutions that balance engineering performance, environmental responsibility, and long-term community needs. As a member of the One Community Engineering Team, Sagar has contributed to the Earthbag Village Stormwater Management project by helping develop and refine the stormwater management and rainwater harvesting documentation, hydraulic calculations, cost analysis, and tutorial content supporting the goal of achieving maximum Stormwater Management LEED points. He has also contributed to the Earthbag Village roadways and property parking lot projects by reviewing and developing design guidance, cost analysis, implementation details, and methods for adapting the open-source transportation plans to different locations. Through this work, Sagar is helping turn engineering concepts into practical, detailed, and open-source resources that others can use, replicate, and improve while advancing One Community’s vision for sustainable communities and infrastructure.
