Highest Good for-profit businessOne Community will be operating an eco-tourism business to share One Community with the world and demonstrate and provide a duplicable model for future teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to follow. This will help us further invite people to experience our model of comprehensive sustainability, gain hands-on access and experience with what our open source blueprints for sustainable duplication are purposed for, and it will help us (and others duplicating our economics model) achieve our expansion goals. Tourism has been chosen as our primary and first revenue stream for the key benefits we’ve identified over other business options:

  • Lowest energy output to income ratio
  • Supports the participation of friends, family, and others
  • Duplicable and easy to market for other communities also
  • Can be operated 100% on the property – nobody needs to leave for work
  • Helps share and spread the One Community model and sustainability ideas
  • Cohesive with the already existing infrastructure and operation of One Community
  • Economics model that can be easily shared and duplicated as part of our open source strategy for helping others
  • Provides the financial foundation for us to keep One Community well maintained, growing, and a place that demonstrates sustainable living as a forward-moving and abundant model versus a return to primitive living
  • Provides funding for aspects of living that fall outside of current self-sustainability capabilities like insurance, saving for kids’ college, personal travel, clothing, energy infrastructure repair and upgrade, etc.*
