One Community welcomes Laura Cohen to the Software Team as our newest Volunteer/Consultant!

Laura has almost two years of software development experience, primarily with the MERN stack. She is passionate about fostering teamwork, clear communication, and continuous learning to adapt and innovate in every project she takes on. Specializing in debugging and UI consistency, Laura is driven by the desire to create thoughtful and user-centered designs, leveraging her background in music, administration, and teaching to bring creativity and collaboration to the tech world. As a member of the One Community team, Laura has focused on enhancing the Highest Good Network App to improve permissions management and user experience. She recently implemented a confirmation modal for role changes, involving recursive functions for nested permissions, troubleshooting back-end integration issues, and optimizing UI consistency for dark and light modes. Laura’s work ensures seamless, user-friendly functionality while contributing to the project’s open-source, sustainable goals.
