CIVIL ENGINEER TEAM MEMBER SKILLS DESIRED
The following are the skills of an ideal candidate for this position if we would have one person dedicated full time to a leadership role. We would like to have multiple people and are open to exploring win-win relationships with people of varying skill levels.
- Licensed PE with at least seven years engineering experience and a visionary aptitude to apply alternative options to traditional and outdated methods, increasing effectiveness and efficiency
- Surveying skills adaptable to contour map creation, building siting & construction, drainage issues, culvert installations, and road construction
- Able to manage and actively participate in the comprehensive project; including initial survey, design, cost estimates, & construction
- Must understand One Community Purpose and goals and be ready to help problem solve to meet these goals
- Sound math skills (trigonometry, differential equations, calculus, algebra, geometry, etc.)
- CAD experience
- Innovative forward thinker and creative problem solver with effective communication skills
- Understanding and experience with design, construction, and installation of gabions
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER TEAM MEMBER SKILLS DESIRED
The following are the skills of an ideal candidate for this position if we would have one person dedicated full time to a leadership role. We would like to have multiple people and are open to exploring win-win relationships with people of varying skill levels.
- Post graduate degree in structural or civil engineering with minimum of seven years working experience
- Licensed P.E.
- A good working knowledge of structural analysis, design techniques, framing systems, project materials and types, geotechnical issues, seismic, wind & snow loads, and building code requirements; with the ability to accurately estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, and labor to determine project feasibility, while managing and meeting project budgetary guidelines
- Possess excellent skills of numeracy (algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, analysis), technical, IT, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and effectively implementing their applications
- Proficient in overall computer use, applicable software programs, CAD technology for simulation purposes, and producing thorough and complete drawings and computer models of structures for building contractors.
- Liaising with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe, creative, and innovative sustainable design solutions in the face of challenge (including climate change), that fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
- Willingness to learn emerging technologies and techniques and investigate ground conditions and analyze results of soil samples and in situ tests to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations, MgO based concrete, and/or steel
- Ability to explain complex conceptual information in simple oral and written terms
- A willingness to take responsibility for major decisions
- Effective presentation of public reports on topics such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, or property and right-of-way descriptions.
- Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations to guide construction and earth-moving projects.
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors due to human use or environmental pressures to determine design specifications; considering the strength of various materials such as timber, concrete, steel brick, AAC (aerated autoclaved concrete), etc. to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design
- Presentation of all work with the thought to protect and safeguard the health, safety, welfare and property of the public
- Desire to be a part of the Duplicable City Center, earthbag village, aquapinis and walipinis, and other village models
MASTER ELECTRICIAN / ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TEAM MEMBER SKILLS DESIRED
The following are the skills of an ideal candidate for this position if we would have one person dedicated full time to a leadership role. We would like to have multiple people and are open to exploring win-win relationships with people of varying skill levels.
- Minimum of 3 years working experience as a certified Master Electrician in charge of design, supervision, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, and testing of electrical systems and components, both residential and commercial
- Must provide verification of Master Electrician’s certification
- Vocational school training, an associate’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field is highly advantageous
- Provide at least two notarized reference letters signed by your past or present supervisors from official representatives of at least two companies engaged in the electrical trade and verifying you have three years of experience in the electrical construction field at the journeyman, foreman, supervisor, or contractor level (advantageous if one of the required three years’ experience is in the commercial or industrial field). One of the required three years may be substituted with proof of graduation with a degree in electrical engineering from an approved college of engineering
- Past design and installation of electrical systems must have been completed in the United States
- Willingness to keep one’s professional skills up-to-date and maintain licensure
- Motivated and responsive when required to quickly repair any site specific problems
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical building code requirements
- Demonstrate a high standard of professional performance and work ethic with personal and public safety as the highest priority
- Knowledge of energy efficient and environmentally-friendly automated electrical systems and components is helpful, but not required
- Past working experience with 220/3-phase is beneficial
- Familiar with elevator installation, wiring, servicing, repair and maintenance is welcomed, but not necessary
- Complete blueprint sets for all installations and provide updates as necessary
- Keep organized and dated records of changes and repairs to electrical system updates & changes and an adequate inventory accounting of parts
- Implement a preventive maintenance program and monitor closely to negate future major problems
- Desire to be a part of the Duplicable City Center, earthbag village, aquapinis and walipinis, and other village models
